    Is the procedure the same for a 6.7 cummins as far as drilling and tapping the manifold

      For the most part. Yes.

    How deep inside the Manifold should the probe be? As much as posible or having the probe tip around the middle ?

    • @GlowShift
      @GlowShift  4 года назад +2

      The tip of the probe should be approximately halfway into the manifold.

    Won’t you get metal shavings down into the turbo

    • @GlowShift
      @GlowShift  3 года назад

      Yes. We recommend using a pen magnet and a shop vac to get them out.

    How much do turbo's enjoy eating metal shavings from drilling the manifold?

    • @GlowShift
      @GlowShift  2 года назад

      We always recommend using a pen magnet and a shop vac to get as much out as you can. If you can remove the manifold, that is always the best option.

      @sideshow4417 2 года назад

      @@GlowShift I'd say that was the only option unless people think having a functioning turbo is overrated.

    Exhaust mainfold trubo flange, but I don’t have turbo, please advise where to install.
    Thanks

    • @GlowShift

      You don't need a turbo to install this gauge. Find a flat portion of your exhaust manifold and install it there.

    • @GlowShift

      We recommend installing the probe pre-turbo for the most accurate reading.

      @@MultiRoberth123 I.e if you turn up the IP on a idi (non turbo) you want to watch your egt’s. You can still melt internals without a turbo.

    So what does it mean when it stays at 15 all the time ? That it's not set up correctly ?

    • @GlowShift
      @GlowShift  6 лет назад

      Hi, this could mean two things. It could mean that your connection from the gauge to the sensor is not good so we recommend looking at that area. Also, please check the depth of the probe to ensure the tip of the sensor is no more than midway into the manifold. If you have further questions about this or anything else with our gauges please feel free to reach us via phone, email, or Live Chat. All purchases come with free lifetime technical support. do i have to mess with the fuse box? cant i just use battery to power the gauge?

    • @GlowShift
      @GlowShift  6 лет назад

      You can wire the yellow and black wires from the gauge directly to the battery, however, the red wire will need to be wired to an ignition only power. If you wire all of them directly to the battery then the gauge will not turn off when the vehicle is turned off. The orange wire is what enables the dimming feature when the headlights are turned on. This is optional and does not need to be connected to power if you choose not too. If you have any questions please feel free to call us at 1.888.GS.GAUGE

    What drill bit size is recommended ?

    • @GlowShift
      @GlowShift  6 лет назад

      We recommend starting with a smaller drill bit and increasing the size of the bit until a size R is reached. This will make drilling the hole easier. You can find the proper size drill bit here: www.glowshiftdirect.com/1-8-27-npt-drill-and-tap-kit/
