    I just installed a glowshift 3 in 1 gauge kit on my 06 cummins. I used the test port extender for my trans temp gauge. It shows readings and an to heat up and cool down properly but the Temps are lower than I believe they really are. Highest I've seen is about 140 for the trans temp. Is there something I should do? Have u heard of this problem before? Does the extended put the sensor too far back and make it not read the temp accurate?

    wouldn't it be smarter and safer to take the exhaust manifold off when you are drilling into the manifold so any of those shavings dont fall into the turbo and destroy it?

    • @GlowShift
      @GlowShift  9 лет назад +3

      Keegan Mohrfeld If you are worried about shavings going into the turbo then you can 100% remove the exhaust manifold and drill and tap it off the vehicle. If you step up from a smaller drill bit to a larger one, then using a vacuum and magnet on the shavings will be okay. There are many different methods you can use when drilling and tapping, do what you feel more comfortable with!

    how come the boost gauge turns on before the others when the key is switched and the needle doesn't move?

    • @GlowShift
      @GlowShift  8 лет назад +1

      That would be because the boost gauge is mechanical, and does not have an electronic stepper motor like the other two gauges. With that being said, it is also the reason that the lights come on faster.

    I’m guessing they’ll work but why are they not advertised for working on 7.5-09 6.7s? And do you have to have a trans port extender for a 68rfe, and if you do, do you make one? Also, can you hook all similar wires of each gauge into each expandable circuit?

    • @GlowShift
      @GlowShift  5 лет назад

      The gauges are universal so they will work with any vehicle. Just make sure you select the correct vehicle year when choosing your pod. The 68rfe does not have a transmission port so you would need to use a cooler line t-fitting, or, weld a bung into the trans pan. For wiring, you can use a wiring kit which will make it so the gauges can be powered from one expandable circuit.

    I have a 3-gauge pillar and have everything dry fitted, but the wire for the dimmer function. 2 of the 3 after they cycle through start flashing, while the other doesn’t. Any ideas what would cause this? Truck is an 03 cummins 24-vavlve

    • @GlowShift

      When the gauge is flashing that usually means that the sensors are not connected. Double check the wiring and make sure that all of the connectors are secure and none of the wires are pinched.

    • @ryanobannon1070
      @ryanobannon1070 5 лет назад

      gumer85 with the 6.7 you may have the 68RFE transmission, which doesn’t have a test port. You’ll need to use a T fitting and cut your transmission “to cooler” line and put the T fitting in. They have another video for that install. I have the 68RFE and it was daunting, but in the end it wasn’t a big deal.
