Hi Jimmy im not sure it will replace your Launch, but its great you take the time to review such equipment, i currently use most of the same equipment as you (because you get such excellent results) i am amazed how many vehicles have been to other garages and end up calling you to achieve that great result, keep up the excellent work and reviews, machnics have a tuff job in all weathers we dont all have heated workshops with lifts and pits.
Bought a D8 last year after sending them the VINs of our family vehicles to check prior to purchase. They were quick to respond and do remote access (which worked fine) - and they did update missing features on my MB E220 Bluetec; however they couldn't access the Vivaro Mk3 (19 reg) 'yet', and it would be updated in the near future - despite my pre-purchase VIN check with them. What it does do, it does well and the features and reporting are good, but disappointed with the pre-purchase checking. Seems good (D8) for the advanced DIY'er and, allowing for tie zones, response has been good. Just wonder if advanced features depend on them hacking the manufacturer's software!! Rather than an authorised access; although in my main use I was surprised at how much Mercedes features were unlocked and accessible.
@@ORileysAutos Fantastic content. Looking at either Launch or Autel. Unfortunately here in NZ these things are really expensive. Your right it’s how you interpret the data. I have spent well over $600NZ at garages just on diagnostic fees. They did not have a clue! Before the Xtool died, I was able to get some good data. Blocked DPF, open circuit on the glow plugs. Followed your video on the fuel vaporiser (fantastic). That’s blocked. So getting there. Cheers

Cool, thanks
Think most people would outgrow that quickly but as its cheap the DIY people may make good use of it
