    He said his vehicle was waxed. Just read on Amazon that for vehicles that are recently waxed or coated with a protectant, the Rain-X instructions state: This product may not work as intended if you have a recently waxed finish or other protective coating on the vehicle. It will not harm the coating, but it will not be “spot free”.

    I used this product then rinse with cheap distilled water (2 gallons). The rainx polymers help the rinse water sheet off

    Just tried this for the first time on my Jeep Gladiator, and was very impressed with the results. My area has incredibly hard water, and will make a mess of your paint. This allowed me to wash it in the hot sun, and do a quick and relaxed towel off without worry. Love Rain-X products.

    well yeah if you let it set for two hours in the shade. try taking it for a 5 min drive in the sun after washing.

      That’s what I was thinking, I’ve used the rainex window treatment. Ur when it’s raining and ur at a stop light it’s kinda useless until u start going the water beads just glide off and this guy was parked…

    Joel, you have a newly waxed truck it says in the directions for newly waxed surfaces, pour a little car wash directly on sponge/wash mitt as you wash the vehicle. Give that a try and let us know.

    Might work better if you dried the car off with a leaf blower and see if that help the water spots... should be a fast and easy thing to do. With the Rain X wash being that slippery it might work really great.

      That is a very good idea. For this video I was just testing the rain x claim of "no drying needed". But I do like your idea of using a leaf blower or compressed air. Should fly off no problem.

      @@attentiontodetail323Thanks for doing a video on this. I just want to throw this out there. Using an air compressor is one of those things people have their own (usually strong) opinions about. Being a mechanic I would never suggest using an air compressor to blow off any kind of vehicle's paint. They can blow out dirt that scratches the paint and can also blow out oil on your freshly washed vehicle. Also the depending how close the air nozzle is the air pressure can blow water under/past gaskets and o-rings or into bearings. Thanks again the video was helpful.

    I just washed my vehicle with this and now reading the reviews, yeah did it backwards. Anyway, my vehicle is grey metallic, I washed it under the shade and dried it with a microfiber cloth. Not a bad product, did make my vehicle shine 2023 and never in a car wash. I don’t see anything special but it’s not bad I probably won’t buy it again just for the simple reason I like to use different brands. RainX makes some decent products, I would recommend it because it’s not bad works just like the rest.

    I wonder if you could use it as a drying aid or clay bar lubricant? What dilution would you recommend?

    Water spots are from the water. Show the sides where it should be sheeting off.

    Hey man I'm wondering if the rain had something to do with the water marks? Sounds weird but rain water comes with natural acids that may have reacted with the soap compared to water from the hose that's treated? Just an idea great video as always man!

    • @attentiontodetail323
      @attentiontodetail323  6 лет назад

      Agreed, any water can result in water marks due to calcium, chlorine, natural acids, etc.. The rain may have been a contributing factor but as rain x claims, water should not be able to lay dormant on the paint. As for the rain causing a possible chemical reaction to the soap is not likely but still possible. If we ever get a stretch of days without rain here in PA then I will have a round 2 with rain X and find out for sure.

    Tried this with a microfiber mitt and a hose. Washed a panel quick and rinsed. STILL left soap scum all over the paint and windows. Waste of money. RainX used to make a marine wash years ago that was blue and water would bead off. Haven’t found that product since but the sell several now that don’t work.

    Worst car soap I have used to me I think this is for people that don’t wax their cars and for those that use to use dish soap.
