Still running the stock/OEM, as that hasn't been an issue - yet. But, it's the same size and connection, you could use the same as this/whatever you use for the ESC.
Do you mean the plastic ESC fan cover? Traxxas parts page would have it, easy Amazon search, or your local RC shop of course. Assuming you still have the OEM/Stock ESC.
Both my fans went out today at the same time, really weird. Gonna go to a hobby shop tomorrow and make sure the fans are the issue. My truck still drives and turns but no fans, called Traxxas and he couldn’t believe both fans went out at the same time
I don't see why not. Yes I believe so. I measured my motor fan and it's the exact same part number on the unit, as well as dimensions. Same style connection as well.
@@Itz_littlebear That's pretty crazy. Was it after a hard landing/tumble/crash? Easy upgrade for $30! I want to say there was a 2-pack deal on the one fan I had bought. Be careful driving it, if you should at all, without any fans. The components may over heat or possibly cause more damage or premature wear with getting higher temps. Good luck!
@@visual86 hey thanks for the reply. When it happened I talked to Traxxas and one guy told me the esc is gonna have to be replaced. Talked to another guy who does the replacement stuff and he said it’s likely just the fans. I looked into it deeper, took the fans out and turns out both fans were just Jammed with little debris in between the fan blade and the wall. So nothing was wrong, I felt pretty dumb, lol. Just glad nothing serious happened and might upgrade those fans anyway.
@@Itz_littlebear well that's a cheap solution then, just clearing out debris! No reason to feel dumb, that's pretty odd for both to jam at the same time. That's part of the issue with the plastic fans, is they're easily jammed with loose dirt, rocks, or other fine debris. Not saying the aluminum fan won't, but it's a more powerful, higher RPM fan too. I'm surprised they said the ESC would need to be replaced, considering only the ESC's fan runs direct from that, the motor fan runs off the Receiver. I'm not positive if the ESC and Receiver have bi-directional communication concerning the motor's fan, I suppose it's more than possible. However, I've noticed the motor's fan turns on immediately with the vehicle, whereas the ESC fan turns on as the ESC boots, there's a slight delay. That'd lead me to believe the motor fan is on/off with the Receiver. I'm sure someone with far more experience and knowledge, than myself could explain better or more in-depth. In any case, glad you figured it out and it was easy (and cheap) for you!
Thanks for this video. Did the same on my Maxx after running into overheating problems.
What fan and mount are you using on the motor?
Thanks

Where can I get a cover of this for 4s esc?

where did you plug it in?
The new fan? It plugs right into the ESC where the stock/OEM fan was plugged. It's a quick, easy, and cheap upgrade
Would that same fan work on the motor?
