Interested in books about the architecture and history of the Dakota, Friar Park, and Tittenhurst Park? I've written a bunch about them. You can find all of them on Amazon and elsewhere. Buying my books helps support my research and productions. Thank you! tinyurl.com/DakotaHistoryCardinal
So well done, thank you very much! Had to laugh at 2:35 "the owner did not want to sell the estate to a _pop_ star..." _ROCK_ star Jimmy Page, okay, but not just a pop star. :) (Yes, after a few owners in between, okay...)
@StrangeHistory, I’ve often wondered if Pattie left any of her favorite antiques/artwork, etc behind when she left. It must’ve been difficult to leave the place that she helped lovingly restore. Friar Park has so many hidden and not so hidden treasures. Has she ever told you what her favorite part of the mansion or grounds she loved the most?
You skipped over the fact that George pressured Pattie into wife-swapping with some mutual friends of theirs, then he had cheated on Pattie with Ringo's wife, which led to Ringo divorcing his wife and Pattie divorcing George. This was the last straw according to Pattie. She then moved on to Eric Clapton who also cheated on her and had a child with another woman while married to Pattie.
@@gardensofthegods Yes. I heard Clapton say he “was obsessed with her.” But he did not state that he loved her. Also, Clapton said he never made love to a woman sober until he was well into his 40s and went through rehab. So that would mean that he was always under the influence during his intimate times with Pattie. During their marriage, Pattie went through a lot of fertility treatments (hormone injections, etc.) trying to conceive as she neared 40. Then Clapton cheated on her and had a child with a 20 year old model. Sadly, that is the child Conor that fell from a 50 story apartment building window.
The mansion has always been very mysterious. I remember as report that was indicating that the home had 200 rooms. What??? Now someone explain to me about the fictional 200 rooms please. Can’t be right, can it?? So much has been written.. Before I die, I’d just like to know. The truth please. Such a cool place for George and Olivia. Patti wasn’t there that long. Thanks.
I visited Friar Park in 196; my blood sister( Scottish) was a Novice Sister with the Salesian Order of Don Bosco.( Italian) . They devoted their lives to the education and social wellbeing of young people in need of guidance. I do remember that the house was impressive and smelled of furniture polish: the grounds were beautiful: the building with quirky light switches (Monks faces in brass; the nose being the " on off" switch. The sisters loved to point out this feature in high amusement. I was told some years later that Geo.H. had purchased Friar Park with some guidance given by the previous owners as to the complexities of the Estate . Spirituality was possibly the reason he bought it as one of the first photos i saw (taken with his permission), was of two iconic framed pictures of Buddha resting on an armchair and Jesus (Sacred heart) on another, in the reception Hall . This photo was taken during his moving in period, before any alterations. Hope this is helpful from Glasgow Scotland. PS My sister spent 30 + years in the east end of London dedicated to the young people of Bermondsey, Southwark. Her Mantra "You are young; You are precious; You are loved.
I'd love to see the underground caves. Where I live is BlueJohn county and there always holding mini screenings and dances in them. We last saw Jurassic Park and the sound echo was better than anything the cinema could provide!
It’s always so nice to read about Pattie & George’s homes especially FP !! Such a great choice for them , considering they could have built their own if they wanted . Always love to see the inside and how it is decorated or if not decorated what it would become . Always enjoy learning everything about FP . Thank you Scott,
Renovations/restorations potentially/typically make u more money. If u ever had to sell it it'd be worth more than when u had it. Which is the name of the game in the world of home owning. It's not like you're doing the work. You hire specialists which boosts the economy as well.

Beautiful, intelligent, stylish & gentle Pattie had everything ....except fertility. Even in the 20th & 21st Centuries, even an important woman's long-term desireability often hinges upon fertility.... Sad, but true+

Pattie was as beautiful inside as outside. She deserved to be treated so much better than George or Eric treated her. Glad third time was the charm.
But she smoked pot and used other drugs!
@@Cindybin46 well that's a weird thing to say.
Pattie worked tirelessly restoring Friar Park to its former glory
At 1.58 I suppose that this photo was taken in may 68 when the Beatles rehearsed their songs in accoustic called Esher demos for the White Album.
Great content. More please and longer. Thank you so much.
Great footage and story of Friar Park. George and Pattie looked happy then
Thank you for your time
Thanks, Scott! ❤
Thank you!
Patti was very cute 🥰🥰❤️❤️
Patti Boyd is so beautiful
wonderful!🌠
When you started playing music for the close out, I thought the show was just getting started. That ended up abruptly.
So well done, thank you very much!

Ironically, a celebrity with an Aleister Crowley obsession ...rather pathetic, no?
I adore your series on Friar Park. Love these photos and learning about it. You are amazing. Thank you. Namaste 🙏🏻
Fascinating
Very nice photos Scott. I often wondered if George thought about making Friar Park an Ashram ? The interiors are a treat to see. Thanks again.

In her memoir she wrote that she left all the furniture there.

Roz , I felt bad for her because I think she went to quite a bit .
And later Eric Clapton said he never loved her ... sad .

They were married in '66.
Petty cash for George buying Friar Park. He was a millionaire by himself just from the song Something royalties. Well earned though.
..... and there's my dear old dad at 6.10.
2.4 million today would be a steal. I'm curious how much it would actually sell for. 200 million?
With all the rooms in that house I've only seen one room and a staircase.

Fake news. More like 36 rooms. 😊
@@StrangeHistoryX Not really fake- there were 120 rooms.

Why are these people who were cheaters and drug addicts, alcoholics glorified? These people although talented really were messed up.
This is about Frier Park, not about George and Patti.

what ever happened to the Hari krishna's? in the early 70's I seen around 4 or 500 marching through Downtown Los Angeles. and today I never see them.

Olivia & Dhani.
