Awesome I’ve been looking for a comparison with this and the tranx! as I honestly was thinking about a tatula being probably better value for money! but I love my smaller curado’s so a 300 looks like a great option! Btw I pretty much only fish salt and had no corrosion issues even with my old bantams I’ve still got from the 90’s!

I have a Curado 301HG for one if my swimbait rods for pike on Lake Huron. I throw Rapala Petos (5” and 8”) plus the odd Otus and Haku’s as well. Handles 40” pike like a dream. Casting is amazing. Also plan on using it for a jerkbait rod for muskie. Totally recommend this reel over the Tranx if you want to save a couple bucks.

Bought the same reel for my frog rod to replace a Revo winch. What a difference. It casts like a bullet and the 6:6 retrieve takes up the slack pretty good too. The Curados are slowly replacing any Garcias left.

Scorpion MD,Tranx,Curado are all the same reels with more or less bearings, like the Chronarch D and Metanium 09 in the past Aluminiumframe by the Chronarch D and Magnesium by the Metanuim, but the reels are the same.

Be careful with the brake pins, unlike previous curados, there is nothing to really secure them if you're not careful. They will fall out and probably into the lake which has happened to lots of people.

Nice looking reel, but I'm old school. I love my shimano IX spinning reel. A 12 dollar reel that's still working after 15 years. I also have an older shimano FX reel I bought on ebay for 45 bucks and a vintage Penn 704 I use for surf fishing. I'm just not into technology. I don't care about ball bearings, fast ratios, fancy looks, etc. But that's me. To each their own.
