- Since 2020 and the death of George Floyd, abolition has become an increasingly popular concept, with activists calling for the end of prisons and policing.
But what does abolition really entail? In The Breach’s latest video, El Jones presents a crash course on abolition, and what the future of safety might look like.

Why don't you first try to abolish crime and criminals and then abolish police and courts then cancel all judges, DA's and Attorneys. What a HAPPY world we'll have
Wonderful! A libertarians paradise! But ............. how do you deal with the thugs, gangs, psychos and career politicians?
So what do u do with repeat violent offenders? Organized criminal gangs? I just cant see public gardens helping with that stuff, i would love to have no need for prisons but i dont see an alternative they just seem logical. And if u want to abolish the police system r u suggesting we police ourselves and in that case is that not still police? Im confused. Thanks.
So what do we do with criminals - Serious mental health types/serious repeat/violent et? Brain damaged violent people? I know the system sucks and I believe that punishment is not the answer. I do believe in Rehab fully. I also believe in - no rehab/no get out. I also believe in very much humane conditions of prisoners and all staff fully trained in mental health and in the Humanities - Human rights and Law.
Welcome to insanity world
Videos like this make me believe the world is flat..... and then I dislike and move on
What would it be like ? It would be like Somalia that has no working central government no police no military
There's a very simple answer to this. This writer and this publication are associated with several institutions with large endowments and other resources. Many are now sitting in jail for lack of an individual or group to stand as assurity in the community. An assurity is responsible for a bond if one exists and may bear some legal responsibility for the actions of the individual released to them while they are in their charge.. If a fund could be assembled to underwrite any potential property damage, loss or injury from individuals under their care, this would be a great demonstration of your faith in this model.
All talk
hey its been awhile since the Breach has done a major youtube show, has the outlet been focusing more on printed articles or just switched to audio podcasts? anywho always a treat to listen to El Jones, keep up the brilliant work, and loving "Live at the Afrikan resistance"
Great Video essay El, and no lies detected. I see this All the Time in Halifax from the police running roughshod over houseless people encampments to how Blacks as well as Indigenous people are treated.
Watching this video made me sob like a baby. Thank you El for explaining why this is such an important problem
@@mushroommonster4295 there's a problem and we as leftists/socialists need to confront it head on.
Brilliant, thank you
