In today markets, unions are not needed. They were needed when business took advantage of their employees and there were far less employers. Today, if you are not happy go to the next job. There are lots of jobs and many businesses are looking for employees. But...if I was an employer I would not be employing anyone who was a big union advocate. After years of watching the police budget in my community, it seems they always want more than anyone else and it is never enough.

I would recommend that the police spend more money on recruiting individuals who are actually qualified to do law enforcement. Of course, the phrase 'police accountability' has always been an oxymoron. Police are rarely held truly accountable for anything. They lie, they stonewall, they hide behind the 'blue wall', their command structure is devoid of any transparency, and all corrupt and/or incompetent cops are dealt with in secret because those are 'personnel matters' which they public is not allowed to see. One only need look at the recent case of the man framed for killing an undercover Toronto cop after that cop and others ambushed the man and his family in an underground garage. Despite video and other forensic evidence, cops lied under oath. Fortunately, the man was acquitted. However, the corruption went right to the top when the Chief said that he was 'disappointed' in the verdict. I always thought that cops were interested in justice rather than any particular outcome, but that is just not the case.
