This dial is just fantastic… and overall a more attractive watch to me on the rubber strap than with the unsightly super wide bracelet on the SS model.
i wish it had the other 'ear' on the left, as opposed to just on the right side by the crown+day-date pushers (ala Nautilus.) this rendition makes it kind of asymmetrical, which is cool too. i love the Lange design language/dna on their first sport watch.
I can understand that but it would have to be the SS version for me. The choice of precious metals for the case of a watch just does not seem rational to me.
@@MasterTLT that’s unfortunate. I was holiday shopping in November last year and expressed interest in one. Ended up with an AP RO since I was sourced one from them faster. The ALS manager literally chased me down to a YSL boutique to tell me that if I was still interested he could get me a WG Odysseus in 1-2W.
Question (excuse my lack of watch knowledge): Normally when setting the date using the crown, one has to set it by making sure it's in Day Time. For example, I would manually go past the 12 hour marker and make sure the date skips over to make sure. How does it work on a Date Pusher? Does it advance 24 hours, or make sure the watch is past Midnight. (Apologies if this comment doesn't make alot of sense)
@@ProCelestialEmpire Thank you for the explanation, I was wondering about the movement as well due to the danger-zone. I have seen other models with pushers, like with JLC and Patek - but since I do not own a watch that requires a pusher, it has always been a curious one for me.
@@barfymann362 I rarely saw JLC with a pusher button to adjust the date. would u plz share which model it is? actually pusher is one major reason that Lange attracts me as it's convenient and special. in terms of the danger zone and 24hours advancement, plz ask Tim for confirmation. I am not 100% sure of it.
@@ProCelestialEmpire I don't know if it's called a Pusher Button, as it still requires a Pusher Tool or a toothpick. The specific model I was looking at is the Master Control Geographic - so I will ask the boutique to let me know regarding danger-zone and also if the date advances 24 hours. I believe the new JLC Reverso Tribute Nonantieme also has a pusher for Date and Moon-phase adjustment. Thank you.
Obviously the watch is, technically speaking, phenomenal. However, the lug design/integration to the case and just the general Lange design style come across really awkward and lack cohesiveness as a sports watch. Just a random W.I.S.'s two cents.
I like the dial but the rest of this watch is not for me. Glad they got it off the bracelet though, that thing was awful. And I will say those hidden pushers are just begging for a chronograph function.
Why does Lange insist on making the 1st to 9th day show up as 1-9 instead of 01-09 is beyond me, it kills the symmetry of what are otherwise extremely beautiful dials.

Favorite Lange. But on the bracelet.
This is a grail watch for me. I do agree with another poster that this watch should come with both the rubber and leather strap at this price point.

Waitlisted? On the west coast, the boutique can source one in 1-2 weeks if you’re a serious buyer 🤔
Chicago boutique told me it was a two year wait list.

I love the patina that grey gold forms.

according to what I know about Lange, their watches are generally not having the danger zone, and the pusher advances 24 hours.

@@barfymann362 thanks
Nice watch, but they should take a lesson from Glashutte Original on how to make a big date.
Really like that they commited to the sport paradigm straight away, , just not a lover of the looks.

An ugly sucker no doubt! "These do less than nothing for me..."
Love the dial, shame your restricted with strap choice in the way it fixes to the case.
Seems like the common trend for this type of watches. Nautilus, Royal Oak, Overseas, all take bespoke straps only
Much better all around package than on the hideous SS bracelet

Because there is no such digit as 01 or 09. Think like a German or jump off the autobahn.
OK ADOLF! In all seriousness, Glashutte does 01, and so do many other brands, so I don't know why Lange won't do it
i like Lange and love the Zeitwerk but for me this model is incredibly ugly. even the lugs to the rubber straps, terrible
This is not a sport watch, I won’t say it is beautiful because of the brand, the lugs and bracelet are just ugly.
It is Patek Neptune's level of ugly!!!
That's a very expensive ugly watch...
👎🏼
I daresay they need to work on this watch a bit more. ALS needs a killer sports watch everyone lusts after. This one isn't quite there yet.
Should have used the zeitwerk case design language and a no frills tool bracelet with rubber as an option. Waitlisted?!?!? Damn, the hype is real...
