I love how they nailed Kyle’s fed-up-with-Cartman look even as an adult. Let’s be real, faking being Jewish for 40 years just to mess with Kyle is absolutely something he would do
Yeah but I felt it was honestly genuine
While Cartman was talking. I already knew Kyle would have that exact same face and when it cut to Stan and Kyle, I laughed so hard seeing Kyle because I was right.
I'm guessing maybe it may have started as another way of f-king with Kyle, but either way, Cartman seems to have gained some happiness and peace from having a happy family from living this lifestyle.

I love how stan just gets to be a more jaded and cynical version of his father when he becomes an adult.
Stan was also never interested in anything or that good at anything. He was average in every single way. He is the epitome of someone who just lets fate drag him along, and is too apathetic to do anything about it.
Well hey, at least fate didn't make him HOMELESS and STARVING. He's got a job and a house. Could have been a lot worse. 😉😉

Adult stan looks SOOO much like Trey Parker, I'm sure it was deliberate. I'd love to think that an animator did it without telling Trey, and Trey doesn't know. That would be awesome

Trey Parker both wrote and directed the Post Covid special. He definitely was the one who made sure Stan looked like him.

This episode was so great, you'll definitely have to watch the next one. Though there are actually 2 episodes that came before this one that were already referenced a little in this one and will be quite a bit more in the next.
Pandemic Special, followed by South ParQ Vaccination Special.
It's one of the things about the later south park seasons that became more serial and less episodic. Makes it a bit tougher for you with your preferred style of just checking an episode out.

However, to understand references you might not get at first, I highly recommend considering watching Tonsil Trouble (Season 12, Episode 1), Band in China (Season 23, Episode 2), The Pandemic Special, and South ParQ Vaccination Special as well. I really loved the COVID Specials, they were super fun. They kind of hand-waived it a bit, but the things they're wearing were the evolution of masks > masks under nose over mouth > masks on chin (chin diaper) > just a more comfortable cloth head with the face cut out of it

It's kinda awesome. Matt and Trey saw a pairing entirely made up by the fans and liked the idea of it so much that they not only made it canon, but made it into one of the healthiest and longest-lasting relationships in the show. It's really cool for the people that enjoy the ship but it's also a slap in the face to people who think South Park or Matt and Trey themselves are homophobic which clearly isn't true 🤷

There’s something kinda wholesome about how these characters have managed to stay in touch with each other from 4th grade to mid-adulthood. Not many friendships from elementary school make it to even high school yet these characters managed to stay in touch for 40+ years

I hate running into people that remember me from childhood and I have no idea who they are. I love the It Chapter 2 feels. It pretty much follows the same premise.
Someone probably said this already, but just in case, randy having sex with the pangolin actually happened in a different hour long special called the pandemic special. There was then a sequel called the vaccination special, which this was a sequel for. This is actually a part 3/4 of the Covid episodes.
Seeing Kyle just invite Cartman into his home after he barely liked him for years was honestly hilarious

This is some of South Park's best content they've ever produced so i'm really glad you got to react to this Dash! The nailed the time-skip for all the characters and it was great to catch your reactions to Cartman being Jewish and the whole Marsh family fiasco. Their humour as always was on point and some of their predictions for society (albeit sadly) are likely to come true down the line!

Even as a woke liberal I kept laughing at their “woke comedy”. It was a commentary on how ppl get so upset at comedians like chapelle that if we were super picky about it and cancelled anything that upset someone that’s how comedy would end up… basically just compliments lol, since almost all of comedy is laughing at/with/about the absurdity of things, including ourselves.
