I love how you don’t cut out the parts where your bunny is doing stuff like being destructive, so people don’t get the wrong impression that it’s only butterflies and rainbows owning a bunny

@@lazyredlady6987 best if you stairs. I would get on all fours and eye level with my bunny and walk down about half the stairway and call for him while I kinda hide around the corner. He would run down and look for me immediately. Then I tell him good job and crawl down the rest of the stairs and hide a little around the corner and call for him.

My girlfriend of 25 years gave me the nickname “bun” when we first started dating and it stuck.
We’ve had 6 rabbits over the years and each one had their own personality and we
loved every one. Not every one zoomed, flopped or binkied but when they did it was charming and so fun to watch.
    Great advice BTW.
I believe rabbits create Vitamin D which humans don’t but it feels nice to be in the sun anyways.
Learning and performing tricks are food dependent.

With Rabbit's, its all about earning trust rather than expecting it. And the end result is so rewarding. With a little thought, so much is given back. Staying on the bunny level ( floor) is the easiest way start that process as pointed out. works wonders. well done. A very fun and useful presentation. Thanks much.

My rabbit had passed but I love thinking of our time together. He was a pretty chill rabbit but VERY needy. We would cuddle for 10 mins after I wake up. If I didn't, he'd be thumping until I picked him up.
He also LOVED going outside. My family was so surprised when I took him outside with me. He wouldn't run away. I would call his name and he come running back to me. 🥰

Please do not advocate for harnesses they are NOT safe for rabbits. Rabbit do not have the same kind of skeletal structure as dogs, they’re spines are SO FRAGILE that one jerking movements can’t be fatal.
Americans seem to push this as safe but it’s NOT. In the UK the Rabbit Welfare Association and fund does not support the use of harnesses due to the dangers of injury and death. Not to mention taking your rabbit out doors in public space is super dangerous. Please do not advocate this dangerous practice 🥺

Ty 4 the trick video, HOWEVER, it is really irresponsible to just tell people to spend time outside with their bunny. For example: I live in an area known for dog ownership AND a city with a crow and rat problem (luckily I have not seen many rats lately). Not all bunny owners live in environments where it is safe for a little bun to be outside and the presence of a dog or other animal may shock their systems!

We have had multiple bunnies. I think the one we have now is my mom"s 6th and my 4th.
She always loved bunnies, but then we got guinea pigs and we bought 2 and one got pregnant. So, She had babies (was not planned. We thought it was 2 girls) THE point is after the babies were born our bunny has been getting no attention and have been destructive. My mom hates him cause he free roamed in our living room and destroyed it. I love your videos cause the great advice and your bunny looks exactly like mine. But mine is a boy

First time viewer of your channel. Great video, though I really disagree that rabbits are strictly indoor pets. Wild rabbits would be in trouble if that were true. I've been raising rex rabbits in outdoor ground pens for years in the Colorado mountains and they love it. Special care just needs to be taken to help keep them comfortable in temperature extremes. Ours have underground burrows made from culvert piping, as well has 2' by 4' wood shelters. Though they seemed to most prefer half chunk of culvert piping sitting on the ground to hide under. Their areas are 6' by 12', fully wired and have electric fencing to protect from predators. They definitely hide when it's hot, but despite giving them bedding to stay warm in the winter, I've seen them hanging out outside in the snow at -20°F and not seeming bothered by it. We've also never lost one to a predator despite having birds of prey, foxes, raccoons, mountain lions, bears . . . Thanks for the video.

  • @JadineMage
    @JadineMage 2 года назад

I like your tips for playing. But rabbits are outdoor animals, but can also be kept indoors. I can understand if you don't want to keep them outside if there can be predators, but not all countries have such predators. As long as the rabbits have enough space, are safe and sheltered, there's nothing wrong with keeping them outside. Their fur will grow thick enough to be outside during the winter. Just don't put them outside if they don't have their winter fur. Constantly changing temperatures is also not good for them. It's better to keep them with others of their kind though. They really should have at least one rabbit buddy.

I love the content! I do want to say that while it can be good to give outdoor playtime, there is a very serious bunny virus(RHDV) going around all over the world and is spreading rapidly in the US. Bunnies are to be vaccinated if the vaccine is available in your state and the virus is present. Here is more info on the virus, please take caution when taking your rabbits outside. This aggressive virus can kill both house and wild rabbits. Here is more info! rabbit.org/rhdv/

My bunny has started to tell me when she's annoyed by thumping and running up to me and biting my clothing.. She bit a hole In my pj pants because she was angry the cat went in to her space I was in bed and she yanked my leg to wake me up.
She would not stop and chil till I got up and moved cat out of her space. 😂

I have a question for anyone who can answer, My bunny has been with me for about 4 and a half months, And he is not letting me pick him up, he just kicks his legs and scratches then I feel bad, not knowing when to try next. can anyone give me tips, or is it too early to start trying? because he is only 6 months old :)
