- Now that my E36 328is is setup exactly how I want, I need to take care of some neglected front suspension components. My loose tie rods, ripped tie rod boots, and worn out FCABS were making for some pretty poor front end handling and endangering my steering rack to debris. So in this video we tackle all these jobs with no special tools and then go for a ride to feel the difference!
Man, you got me wanting to refresh the whole underside of my car
ehh its over rated
Real talk, doing the refresh of the bushings and shifter bushings made it a new car
Put them in the freezer before doing the project. Worked for me thought it was going to be a pain but the freezer trick worked tremendously.
If the inner is leaking super loose you should change the inner tie rod also right? Or is that just how it’s supposed to be
If leaking the rack needs rebuild
Use a flathead to remove the clamp, you bend the tab and pry the end of and you can almost reuse it if you're careful
The grape soda😂😂
You remind me of a younger more bmw tommyfeah, no bs and you know your stuff. Oh yeah and actual good taste lmao
Man I appreciate that big time! Glad my taste and knowledge is noticed!
exactly what I need to watch 🙏
I have a 1990 525i that’s in super good condition but I was thinking about upgrading the sound system. Do you have any recommendations about how to get the best sound quality while still having the interior look tasteful / original?
Im going to dive into this journey soon. Ill have lots more information in following months and make videos
Gotta do this to my e36 ASAP
Where do you go for alignments? Pep boys and all these chain stores always give me a hard time for being low but I’m only on h&r lowering springs on my e36 lol
Currently figuring that out lol
Greetings my friend. Hope all is well and you’re happy. Off topic question. In a previous video you mentioned you’re having some PDR done. I have a few minor dings and want them gone. How expensive is PDR? In your opinion is it worth the cost/benefits ratio? Cheers, G
Actually been researching a good pdr place locally. Pdr to my understanding is quite cheap with perfect results in nearly every case if done by a good company. Ill have a video detailing it within the next couple months for sure.
Just a quick question I was wondering what gear oil you would you recommend for an e34 lsd I wanna change it before I have to start dailying the car
Saf-xj 75w-140 for lsd
@@m3nameisjosh464 thanks
Make sure it has friction modifiers for your clutch packs
Hey where did you get those f tabs bushings?
AKG
Hey man thanks for the video. I will doing this myself soon😩
Happy to help!
I approve the choice of a cream soda
Stuff is firee
What wheels are those bro they are siiiickk
Bro your inner tie rods are toasted. Fwiw "if your inners droop on their own they need to be replaced." Yours don't droop ,they are striat floppin'. It would have been so easy to do inners and outers. (Still great content tho. Good enough for me to spend time trying to help)
Oh wow I didn’t know this dude. Shit lol. I thought they were supposed to move around freely. Damn😭
what tie rods you use?
Whatever oem from fcp euro
170 for an alignment? That’s saucy man 😂
Thats pretty much the going rate around here!
Will loose tie rods make my car clank when i brake
Potentially, but more so fcabs
@@m3nameisjosh464 hope its not that. I recently just hit a pothole now my front end clanks when i press the brakes
@@m3nameisjosh464 i just figured it out my brake caliper bolts came out
@@backnd_2329 LOLL NICE!
Sure didn't want to do your hair first 🤣 jk all love 😘
Great motivation, exactly what i need to do. Or... how about i just pay you to do mine :)
Hahahah currently not taking jobs!
@@m3nameisjosh464 yep totally kidding man. Will you be doing a video on rtabs?
@@fatoputso7375 not with this car, rtabs with limiters were done before i bought it!
I bought poly fcabs preinstalled in the lollipops. Best investment I ever made lmao
Way easier lol
Febi makes a epic m3 lolly pop for the e36 (on center hole) ive got 50,000 miles so far. Zero play on a slammed car. I just searched for them, can't find them. They were german. Called "halter ,links querlenker" they are a " solid bushing" not the stock ones. (Can't find them or I would link them)
Most likely warped rotors to cause a shimmy during braking.
Brand new brakes my friend
My bad. Maybe you're right about the wheel bearing. @@m3nameisjosh464
Ain't nothing wrong with cream soda homie
In one of your videos, you said your E36 M3 was noisy and implied they are all like that. Mine is a 1999 and is more quiet than my new one no matter what bumps and pot holes I hit, quiet and solid as a rock. Don't accuse all M3's with the problems 'yours' has, you mislead people that way and detract possible buyers thus hurting everyone.
"Noise , vibration, harshness " you texted noise, vibration, hardness" on the screen... but I knew you knew, cuz you said harshnes, not hardness.
Catchin all my errors hahahah
laying under something with a hammer actually just never results in a good time
