I followed your advice when I went to a local casino last week. I left my debit card at home. My budget was $340. I took my gamble smart box and left the key at home. I played lower volatility machines and almist tripled my money. I put $600 in the box and continued to play. Since I was way ahead, I decided to put $100 in huff and more puff. I bet $1.50 on 2cent denom. After about 4 or 5 spins, I got the buzz saw bonus. I couldn't believe it when the wheel spin landed on the Grand for $13,114.51. This was my biggest jackpot ever. I had taxes taken out and asked to be paid by check.
Thank you for all you do.😊

Good Monday Morning Dave, 🌞 that's good advice. I've been like that I'll go and win as soon as I get there and this little Devil 😈 on my shoulder says to still play because I drove 🚗 almost 78 miles to a Casino and it is same distance back. The 😇 on other shoulder is saying take it go home. Who Wins?

True, once gamblers lose they get emotional and wants to fight the machine and before you know it, you are totally broke. You can't beat the slots (it can give you dead spins forever like an abyss), however you can cut loss. It's extremely addictive. Even you know you are losing a lot but you cannot get your butt off the chair. Very real when you are in a casino when you lose track of time. No clocks that's the idea.

I'm sure this budget tip has been shared, but what I like to do is break up a budget. Example: 15 $20 for $300. Cash out if above $30 on machine. Take any winning tickets, cash them out. If losing pocket at least half and try to get lucky on the other half. If winning, pocket opening budget and half the winnings and try to continue being lucky with the other half. Gamble boxes pay for themselves in one trip for people like me that just want to keep playing. Better to just leave after the original budget is through, lol.
    Great tips and videos!

It's the ambiance, the property, the comradery, and memories that make gambling fun. The thrill of the win, the agony of defeat, and the laughter throughout. Really do appreciate the heartfelt messaging you all provide!

Set a budget and divide it into your gambling sessions, like after breakfast, after lunch, and after dinner.
If you win some, play with their money and keep yours.
When we win a little, we bring it home, we save it to add to the next time we go to a casino.
We’re regular low rollers at Pechanga. They always have nice little give aways each week.
So we pick out which gift we want and then get comped room plus free play and food credits.

My most important stop after a trip to the casino is to the bank! I deposit my winnings into my Savings account OR I make a payment to my credit card with the money I bring back. It's soooo satisfying to do that instead of putting the money back in the machines. It doesn't have to be a lot. Even if I'm not in profit (say, for example, I take $200 and leave with $150...so I'm down $50) I'll take what's left and just save it or pay off a recent purchase or two. Love your wonderful tips and just love Gamble Smart all around! ❤

So many great tips Dave! I used the budget/envelope tip in August in Las Vegas and it worked. I had a thought about my gambling budget and was wondering what your thoughts are. What are your thoughts of taking a certain amount out of each envelope and putting it in the cash box so that I go home with something especially if I loose it all( which has happened before). I was thinking about trying this on my next trip to the casino. Again a big thank you to you and Marc for the great videos and advice and the work you both put into the videos to make us all better, more educated gamblers. Gamble Smart and Gamble Safe! 😁👍🏻🎰

Mindset is important. Go in and play with what you can afford to lose. Just have fun playing and losing/winning is just part of the entertainment process. No guarantees. The day you only wanted to win before leaving is bad news for you. If I enter the casino, I tell myself that I am going to lose 99% of the time anyway, then I will not try to chase my losses when it happens. If winnings comes, great, if it doesn't I can just walk away because I was prepared for the outcome before I started. Playing in desperation is the worst. You need to win or die attitude is proof that you will lose bigtime.

I realize after listening to Mark on the live, I've got a problem. Went to the casino yesterday, was down $700, then was up $500. I walked outside to take a break for about 20mins and went back in and told myself I was going to stop after lost a little of my winning, but I didn't stop, I blew through that 500 in winnings and then my original 700 again and left with zero. Probably the best gambling I had but worst in terms of my budget control. I'm so ashamed. I don't want to sign out because I do love the casino but, I have to find a way to stop myself when I have a win like this. I should've cashed out my $1200 ticket and went home instead of going for a break and coming back in. Hindsight is always 20/20 but I can't seem to control myself when I'm there, that little voice gets drowned out. I've been going to the casino almost every week for the last year now. Maybe it's time for me to break for a month or more.

It’s hard sometimes , but taking time off can be good. How about stay away for a full
month and see where you are at mentally. Also you did not mention that you took any additional money out. Look at that as a win for control and a great place to start. Make sure all your bills are paid and you have some money in the bank before thinking about going back. Also never hurts to talk to someone at www.ncpgambling.org/help-treatment/ you can call, text or chat with a professional counsel anytime and it’s totally anonymous. We are very proud that you are self searching and asking yourself these tough questions.

Hey dave, about the atm cards, i could drive about 15 minutes to my bank and take out what i need for my day at my casino and then drive back to home and leave my atm card at home, or what i normally do is when i drive to my home casino, seminole hardrock tampa, park in my icon parking lot, put my atm card and what i need for the week as for food, gas etc, in a small envelope and indside my glove comparrment is where it goes. I have caught myself on some ocasioms after being cleaned out, heading to the casino atm and then realizing that "oh, shit, my atm card is a long walk from where i am at"! So it kind of forces you to be in control. Its like this being a smoker since the 1980s, the only way i can quit is to put me on an island where there is no smokes!

I would like to start off by saying you run a great channel and I love and appreciate your information. I have a serious question concern. I live in a state where gambling is illegal. We have the no chance machines. I play at a local gas station. Seems to be about 3 months ago the machines were hitting like crazy. Pretty good line hits pretty good bonuses pretty good free games. The bonus games at that point seem to be giving out a minimum of about 8 or 9$. They sent the technician who came and updated all the machines right afterwards none of the machines hit the same way anymore. We also observe a strange phenomenon to were now the machine will give you a bonus for a $1.50. I watch the guy play 3,000 in one slot machine and he only got a few line hits for $100.... He also played a total of about 18 hours..... Ever since that technician came none of the machines payout the same way the bonuses pay no good and now it's tremendously hard getting free games.... Is this randomness or is this manipulation.?

I know it's just random, but been playing this one progressive machine at the Trop whenever I visit because the top three jackpots are either maxed or well above average. I played it a little Thursday, for an hour Friday during their 20x promotion (lost, but got 80% of what I lost back in free play so one of the reasons I was playing)...Sat roles around, I use my free play on it, lose, then my friend sits down at it because I told him about how high the progressives were and what happens? he hits one of the progressives after about five minutes. And it was during their jackpot match from 6 pm to 7PM up to $2500 so he got an extra $2500. All I can do is laugh at this point and wonder how long can negative variance last. To be clear I'm happy for my buddy, but it's our third consecutive trip where one my friends played a slot after I got crushed on it and hit big almost as soon as they started playing so even my skeptical friends are calling me "the cooler."
