Good fragrances shouldn't need help by layering it with other fragrances, shower gels, lotions, etc. If they can't stand on their own, they're worthless

Jo Malone was bought by Estee Lauder and Jo Malone now has her new brand called Jo Loves.
When it comes to frangrances it plays a major part to who they were designed to ...most fragrances are not for all skin types.

My colleague, who sits next to me at the office, has got two Jo Malone fragrances. Usually, I can smell her almost during the whole day. What's more, those frags are natural-smelling, elegant, refined and sexy. In my opinion, JM fragrances are worth of the price tag more than many other niche brands.

I love how well you presented this video about the possible downsides of those fragrances. Which is not appropriate considering the price point... your video really helps to give customers a better idea about the products!

From memory, I'd say the same. I haven't bought a Jo Malone candle in over a decade, there's just too much competition and I'm even fussier with high-end luxury candles than I am about niche perfumery. But yeah, for those about to give up on Jo Malone, stick to bath products and candles. They're a delight, you can't really go wrong. After Lauder bought the Jo Malone brand and Jo herself went solo with 'JoLoves', she brought out a particularly EPIC candle of her own called The Beaumont. Totally unisex and HIGHLY recommended as a Christmas gift idea. 😄

Jo Malone quality changed since the sale to EL. Mass production over saturated trash now, with reformulation tragedies.. However Jo Loves, her actual self owned brand in London, has produced some lovely scents. They have a fragrance tapas experience in store that was unique. I don’t recall any deep oud offerings but I purchased a few new faves there.

Honestly I think it depends on your body chemistry. Also I take home samples and try them on my skin first before buying. I have to know that it lasts. But her colognes last for me. Layering or not.
I also love perfumes to last at least 5-6 hours and I get that from her fragrances. But I do know that it doesn’t work that way for everyone. And I don’t purchase all of the creams and body washes.

While I totally agree about Jo Malone cologne's, longevity - I still buy them. Crazy isn't it. I used to be a Tom Ford nut, and then I found the house of Jo Malone. A whole lot cheaper than Ford and the longevity is about the same. I just adore Oud and Bergamont, and Wood Sage and Sea Salt. They are perfect fragrances - but they only last a few hours on my skin. And woman - you are just gorgeous.

Hey guys! I am a fan of JM to, but I don't know if you know that Jo Malone as an owner is not with the brand anymore. Estee Lauder purchased it a while a go and since then I must say they dropped down longevity whise a lot. I remember I bought Jo Malone in Paris 9 years ago or so, and all fragrances lasted on my skin. Now, not so much and I am truly disappointed. Joanne Malone has her own new brand now called JO Loves, but it has only a London store so far and I haven't been able to try it. I hope it is better than current Jo Malone.

For a $100 bottle I was expecting so much more. And when I finally smelled the Jo Malone fragrances I had heard so much about from beauty youtubers, I KNEW they were the same vibe. They smell alright not even great. However given their short lasting power, I’d rather buy body sprays instead. Needless to say I will not be repurchasing the Sephora Clean Reserve line. • @margalitmelnik

What I find with Jo Malone is that some fragrances last different on you and it is a totally personal thing. At first I was adviced to buy Poppy and Barley because it was supposed to last longer than my other choice (orange blossom) but instead of buying any of them I asked to test them and went back home. 4 hours later there was barely a trace of Poppy and Barley but Orange Blossom was still there and it just kept going on for about 10 hours. But then I smelled Nectarine Blossom and Honey and it just lasted like maybe two hours.
I like fragrances that I can smell on my self but that are not offensive to others, so I am quite happy with my Jo Malone choice.
By no means I would advice you to buy another if you really don't want to, but if you ever discover a scent there that you love, maybe do what I did and,who knows it might be your lucky day 😊

I purchased the Garden Lillies and it lasted for 12 hours. It’s such a beautiful scent. So nice a couple of my coworkers purchased it for their wives, whom loved it too. I think it was a limited edition item though.

I feel crazy as hell for just now realizing it doesn't last lol. Yuja limited edition smells like an expensive luxury resort on a beach but i have to put it on again later lol. They need to fix that lord.

Ahhhh....THANKYOU!!!!! I watched Mr. Sillage, and all he did was go into an almost Orgasmic Description of How Unbelievably Wonderful Myrrh & Tonka is. I watched another review that said almost exactly the same thing. And, in the comments of both videos, I lost track of How Many People said EXACTLY the same thing as the others comments. Before I watched your video, I was firmly of the opinion that I'm gonna follow my GUT Instincts on the Myrrh & Tonka & stay away from what appears to be an Over-Hyped & Over-Priced Cologne. Actually, I shouldn't say "Over-Hyped", because I didn't find too many reviews on this Fragrance. For less than HALF the price of Jo Malone, I can get Thierry Mugler: Pure Tonka, which I've had in the past & loved. I'm gonna subscribe & keep an eye out for your reviews. Cheers!!!!

Jo Malone lasts for me, but I lightly spray my clothes also, maybe that’s why. The Lime, Basil, and Mandarin lasted so long it started to annoy me lol
I do like for my perfumes and fragrances to slightly fade during the time I’m wearing them. I want them to fade into a soft skin scent. I just bought Honeysuckle and Davanna, and English Oak and Hazelnut. I’m so excited.

Mr Malone out here finessing housewives! 😆 I have never bought any Jo Malone because I don’t like to reward low quality, the reason they don’t make longer lasting fragrances is because people still buy their watered down crap in pretty bottles And honestly I feel the same way about Byredo. We get what we allow ladies!

I am never impressed at all with JM colognes, well it’s a cologne so there is no staying power at all. For the price you pay for it, you can get a Chanel or Hermes fresh scent too that lasts all day. And sillage? Oh gosh ahhhhmazing!

Jo Malone has many lovely scents, but I would say 2/3 of them don't last long on me. The ones that last longer on me and others smell it when they're around me are: Cardamom & Mimosa; peony & suede, and the grapefruit one. I have orange blossom, nectarine blossom & honey, blackberry & bay, and poppy & barley ( I love all of them very much), but these few don't last as long. Probably 4-ish hours or so...then I don't smell it on me anymore. I noticed their newer ones and limited edition ones disappear on me within 2 hours. So yeah, I really don't buy Jo Malone much anymore. For the price, I rather explore other brands that last longer on me with more complex ingredients and scents.

To be fair, they are cologne formulation. So it isn't like we don't know what we are getting with JM when we buy them. I agree the performance sucks on colognes, which is why I don't buy them. Except for JM Velvet Rose & Oud. That one seems to perform more like a edt. And I layer it with the body oil, use the solid perfume under the cologne, and wear the hair mist and it lasts all day. That's doing the most though 🤣

Hi..at last a video expressing my disappointment with Jo Malone....in my country ( Bahrain) the 100ml bottle is priced approx. US$ 120....since this shop was opened in 2011, I entered almost every week and ended up not buying any....until I saw their concentrated tea perfumes think 5 or 6 different tea bases...they come in 200ml priced US$400 and 75 ml priced US$120...only one of them caught my attention that was Jade leaf tea...stayed on my skin for 4 hours without layering it with anything.....there is great similarity between this and Chanel No.19 ( my endless love)...also L' ombre EDT from Dyptique

I tried a 5 ml decant of black cedar and juniper, On a humid day, it went right to a skin scent with pleasant wafts of a very nice, creamy, sweet, cedar. Much nicer than kilian straight to heaven, to me. This is one lambikins - sweety, of a skin scent, although fleeting and big bucks! Excellent for that particular purpose, but nothing to get you noticed in public.

For some reason Jo Malone does not mix well with my body chemistry. The fragrances always start off okay, but then turn rancid in the dry down. I do keep a small wood sage body creme on hand though...it is definitely my favorite in the line.

Amazing how the body is different from person to person because I have all these fragrances and they last throughout the day at least 7hrs but I do oil my body first so maybe that’s why it last❤️ great video. Aside from putting a frangrance free moisturizer for the perfume to stick spraying it in places where you have friction helps with staying power behind the ears elbows and knees. Alson on the clothes
