Rebecca this video kinda made me tear up as with the holiday season up on us I have been missing my mother. She ADORED fragrance and collected vintage mini perfume bottles. She must have around a thousand!! She always wore Oscar de la Renta...still have her last bottle she used...half full. I know too about playing in my grandmother's closet...a smell of White Shoulders & cigarette smoke...long time smoker but lived to 92 🤔 My favorite fragrance is Michael Kors Glam Jasmine but it's hard to find!! I now combine YSL Black Opium with the Sol de Janeiro Bom Dia Bright cream 🩷
I LOVE that you think of your lovely mother and grandmother here as I think of my grandmother. Fragrance has that way of bringing us back. RIGHT BACK. Wow. White Shoulders!!! Yes. Oh wow. Memories!!! Black Opium with Sol de Janeiro??? I have those both. Will try that combo!
I love that memory of you playing in your grandmother’s coat and smelling Chanel No. 5❤❤ I grew up around fragrance, my mom and dad both loved it. I remember my Mom loving Chanel No. 5 and my Dad Armani. I would keep their bottles when they were done and it would line my dresser. I remember my mother taking my sister and I perfume shopping every year. Ah!! Sorry for the trip down memory lane. Anyway a signature scent that I have worn for 25 years (!!!!). Creed Silver Mountain Water. Its unisex in the U.K. But considered cologne in the states. I get stopped all the time and asked what I am wearing. I don’t wear it everyday. I al now thinking of branching out. You looked gorgeous❤❤
I love your trip down memory lane! Do you know what the funny thing is? I didn’t realize that my grandmother wore Chanel number five. I just remembered the scent. And one day probably 10 years ago even, I was in a shop and I was sniffing some Chanel perfume and I sniffed Chanel number five and I was transported to being, you know, 3 feet tall and playing in my grandmother‘s coats and I realized that she wore Chanel number five. I’ve never tried anything by creed but I’ve always wanted to. So I’m gonna put that one that you mentioned on my list.

Sheila! I am so honored that you thought of me! It just makes you want to stay in the room with it. And you know what else I love? After you blow it out the room still smells like the fragrance for a good hour or two.
Hi Rebecca. After I discovered makeup RUclips I branched out to fragrance RUclips. I considered it olfactory therapy after losing my sense of smell from Covid. Some notes still smell wonky to me, compared to what others say. One of my favorite creators is another LA gal. Her channel is Marcelena Theresa, and she is a gourmand lover as well; Marcy is a doll. Anyway, my best Tom Ford is Soleil Neige, but I love smelling the masculine ouds and leathers. My favorite house is Xerjoff. Lira is just caramel joy to me. In summer, I like scents with mango and passion fruit. Thank goodness there are discovery sets and decant sites online.
Oooo wonderful recommendations. Thank you!!!!! And, ugh, Covid robbing you of your sense of smell....but what a GREAT way to wake up the senses....discovery sets!
I have decided I am in my fragrance era! 💁🏻♀️ I have ordered several tester sample kits from different houses and still haven’t hit on what I’m looking for overall. My birthday is in April so I am on a kick to figure out what I like before that so I can get a few for my birthday. I thought I’d have it done before Christmas because I started testing things out this the summer, but I’ve not found things I love yet. I have learned things that smell great on my daughter often smell like garbage on me and sometimes things I love initially, smell gross on me in a few hours. (Like the Bitter Peach turned on you) Oh and NEVER blind buy a scent even though you supposedly love all the notes. All that has done is enrich my daughter’s perfume collection because even though it smells yucky on me, it ends up smelling good on her! 😂
Isn't that WILD how fragrance really differentiates from person to person!!!! And, yes, do NOT buy blindly! (talking to myself there, haha). Fragrance era APPROVAL!!! me too!
My understanding about Jo Malone is that they use mostly natural fragrance with smaller amounts of synthetics than most mainstream perfumes use, and that this is why the sillage and longevity tend to be on the modest side. I haven't found those to be appealing enough to want to wear them myself, but I do find them to be much more tolerable on other people than the vast majority of other perfumes out there. 😀
I have worn a signature fragrance for years. It was discontinued, so I purchased all I could. When I was living in Italy, they relaunched it again ( after 20 years) and I didn’t purchase any as I thought it would be available in the future. They even did a winter version. Lo and behold it’s not available anymore! Same applies with the Cartier Must EDP. Last week I wanted to repurchase it and that’s been redundant for two years. I’ve never liked cheap fragrances or common ones. @@traciewarren1070 you are correct. When I first bought the lost cherry, I was so excited to find it because it was really hard to find and I just stuck it on my credit card and bought it from the boutique New York and had them send it out and then I saw my credit card. I bought it without looking at the time, this was years and years ago. And I figured it would be pricey but I almost fainted honestly.
You have to try PHLUR’s Vanilla Skin Body mists. I’m obsessed. Bought three bottles for backup. Definitely want to try the other two mists in the line.
Chanel No 5 does not suit me but I love the aroma. So, of course I bought a bottle ages ago to use as a room fragrance for when I am feeling indulgent 😆 Now I know I’m not alone in using it this way 😊💕
My mom gave me my first bottle of Chanel when I was 15 or 16 after I started wearing Loves Baby Soft, which she hated. Lols! Because old habits die hard, almost all in my collection are Chanel except two: An old bottle of Nikki de Saint Phalle and a massive bottle of 4711, which was the cologne that Napoleon wore into battle. Cool history, right?! Haha, I wear it before client meetings. (It’s a genderless, limey citrus and is amazingly refreshing! I think everyone on earth would enjoy it.) My great loves are: 5, 5 Eau Première (which is more modern than 5), 18, 19, 22, Biarritz, 1932, Edimbourgh, Cristalle, Bel Respiro, Cuir de Russie, Boy… and more because always more to love. There are quite a few I’ve never tried-and I’m excited for the day it happens! In my 20’s, I liked Cacharel’s Anais Anais and LouLou a lot. I think for Christmas I will treat myself to them for old times sake. Sorry so long a comment! Perfume is my jammmy jam jam. ❤️
I LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE that your mother started your love for Chanel fragrance. That warms my heart both as a daughter and a mother of daughters!!!! Beautiful.
I've given up on wearing fragrance. I don't know if it's only Canada but you can't wear it anywhere here anymore - it's banned at my office, doctor's offices, hospitals, concerts, everywhere. The only place it seems to be allowed these days is shopping malls for obvious reasons. And because it's so frowned upon now, if someone does wear one somewhere all they get are complaints from people saying it gives them a headache. So I gave up. Is it just Canada?
Oh my goodness! This is the first I have ever heard of this. We need other Canadians to weigh in. What is happening? That is so interesting. I never knew that could be actually regulated. Is it up on signs? Like no smoking, no perfume? Or is it just kind of socially enforced? You have to tell me more. I am fascinated. I have never heard of this. As far as I know, it is just Canada and I didn’t even realize it was a Canadian thing. We need more people to weigh in on this please.
OK maybe banned isn't the correct term, but when I have purchased concert tickets, it's been printed on the ticket that it's a "scent free environment" right down to saying no perfumed body lotions! Yes it's written up at hospitals and doctors offices, any medical establishment, it's a part of our policy at work that it's a scent free environment and I know of 2 people that have been told by HR not to wear it when they did on occasion. Oh also schools, 2 of my nieces are school teachers and they can't wear it - so I assume it's the same for students. So while you won't get a ticket for it lol, it's definitely up on signs and/or written policy at a lot of places. @@NotFitforPrintBeauty
@@NotFitforPrintBeauty This is a place I recently purchased tickets for and this is pretty common: Shenkman Art Centre is a scent-free environment. We ask patrons to please refrain from the use and wearing of scented products when attending an event in the centre.
Faves = Penhaligon's (Heartless Helen, Empressa, Halfeti and Lord George) Dolce & Gabbana Light Blue Intense for summer. Chanel (COCO Noir) . Diptyque (Do Son) they are all just gorgeous 😂
Hi! I love to layer! Have you tried Coco Mademoiselle with a vanilla such as Kayali 28 or another vanilla bu Comptoir Sud Pacific? It’s amazing together. I layered Bitter Peach with an amber perfume called Amber 114 this week and it was great. 😉
What a great idea, Julie! You know, I have… Oh it’s a Sephora find… It’s a vanilla fragrance… I can’t remember the name of the brand. They do really simple packaging. Anyway I don’t love it because it’s almost like straight up vanilla. I don’t mind if it’s not complicated but this is almost sickeningly sweet vanilla and I wonder how that would do with the Chanel. So I’m gonna try that.
I tried to be open-minded to the idea of there being "cleaner" synthetic fragrances that were worth exploring, but after trying a whole bunch of them, I found that all of them smelled offensive to me and (when included in skincare/cosmetics) irritated my skin, and that most also give me a headache or make me feel kind of woozy. I do like virtually all natural fragrances but those are increasingly hard to come by (and even Seven Virtues - previously selling only all-natural scents such as Vanilla Woods - now has released a synthetic cherry fragrance that smells awful to me). I do like Fresh Life and Fresh Rose Morning and wonder if those may actually be all-natural (even though I was unsuccessful at prying any information from LVMH about it). And I also do really like mixing organic vanilla oil and organic sandalwood oil with some other organic essential oil as the top note - that smells amazing to me. Of course, I do understand the argument that natural fragrances have environmental costs, but with large-scale studies suggesting that 30% of the population report being sensitive to artificial fragrances worn by others, the idea that synthetic fragrances should be acceptable to wear everywhere (including to places like doctors' offices) does not seem very courteous to me. And I also think that natural fragrances actually have health benefits ("aromatherapy") that synthetic fragrances (which are more like junk food even for those who can tolerate them) do not.
What a lovely video, dear Rebecca, loved to watch, thank you!!!🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩I also love TF Lost Cherry! What is/are my favs? Hard to say, depends on the weather and how i feel, from Delina La Rosee, and Delina until Kilian Love Don't Be Shy Extreme (but this one can give headaches, so not always). In between? Lancome La Vie Est Belle i still love, sounds boring, but my skin chemistry only wants sweet fragrances. Candles history (the serious asthma) but there are cute fake ones! Further i just love love love Scandal from Jean Paul Gaultier, also Valaya from Parfums de Marly. Very special ones: Lira and Dama Bianca fragrances from Xerjoff from his Casamorati line. Delina Exclusif i liked. Is heavy for me, but special. But it does not have to be a niche scent to be the most special, today i wear Scandal from JPG, always good, the honey in it is so lovely! When i had the most terrible headaches ever, this autumn because of wrong meds (told you i believe in the chat), i was only wearing now and than Delina La Rosee, it has light feet, it is a summer fragrance but for me an all year fragrance, love it! Chanel no. 5, when i smell it i start to cry, it was my late dear mama's scent. Haltane for men (Parfums de Marly) is really delicious!!! Lost Cherry is my forever favorite perfume obsession. But it is so expensive that on days I am not doing anything I use Mac Jacobs Perfect (Spring/Summer) and a Chloe perfume with a blush color bow on it (in the Fall and Winter).
I wouldn’t say that they are dupes at all. In fact, they are all quite different from each other but I find them all to be very beautiful sense that don’t make me feel sick. The Marc Jacobs is definitely a younger fruitier sent than what I typically like but it’s done really well and I think it’s a lot of fun in the spring and especially the summer.
First, you look gorgeous. I love Lost Cherry. It’s my favorite. Then i would have to go for Coco Mademoiselle. After those I would like to mention an Italian brand, Casamorati, Lira. Another favorite is made by E B K PARIS, Ruby N Vanilla. They are sexy gourmand fragrances. The vanilla is a grown up version. My husband who loves perfume loves the four I’ve mentioned. They start off pretty strong then soften beautifully. I don’t like a fragrance that announces my presence before I come into a room or remains after I’ve left. I prefer something that can only really be smelled when someone is close. Funny you should mention Chanel No 5. My mother always wore Shalimar perfume. I still have her last bottle on my dresser! Yes I do sniff it every now and then.😊❤
I’m absolutely in awe of how many of us remember our mothers and grandmothers by their signature fragrances. And how we end up relating the scent to their memories and memories of our own youth. Truly beautiful.
The older I get, the more strong fragrances bother me. I used to wear Mademoiselle, but its too much now. I kind of fell in love with Chanel Paris-Paris body lotion this summer (so did my guy). I love anything Jo Malone...currently wearing Blackberry Bay
Last year in January I told myself that my little New Year’s resolution would be, since I have so many fragrances that I love, that I would wear a different one every single day. I loved it for about a month. But after a month I got sick of constantly smelling fragrance. It started bothering me. And now I wear one every three or four days and that makes me happy. I realize that fragrance every day is getting to just be too much. It’s almost overwhelming.
Hermès Un Jardin Sur Lagune is my absolute favorite. I am a perfume hussy. I have entirely too much. We absolute need smellovision. Have a wonderful week ❌️ ⭕️
It cracks me up because having been in Britain so much I know what silage smells like and now when I look at the name of the brand I can envision that scent instead. Not the most pleasant. As my husband says, “the smell of the country! “

I bought Rose prick. And I like it. I like it in the candle better. The fragrance I rarely wear. I’d like to layer it with something but I need to be a bit more experimental. I think we can make it nice but we have to find what it layers with.
I like last year's Kayali cherry one but that pistachio one was straight up a rip off! It smelled citrus-y like a lime margarita. Where was the "gormande pistachio gelato"? 😠
My top five (in no order) Killian I don't need a Prince by my side to be a princess. Killian Angels share Coco mademoiselle Tom ford solei neige Maison Margiela when the rain stops. I need a summery fragrance. I hate coconut and like oceany smells.
I have never tried any Killian and, I was telling someone else in another comment I have also never tried Creed. So both of those are on my list.
I love the TF Lost Cherry . I agree it just such a great perfume. However, My #1 favorite from TF is Tobacco Vanille . ❤
I like that one too but I have to apply sparingly as it gets a bit heavy. in the right amount, it's lovely!!!!!!
You have to try PHLUR’s Vanilla Skin Body mists. I’m obsessed. Bought three bottles for backup. Definitely want to try the other two mists in the line.
ON MY LIST!!!
Chanel No 5 does not suit me but I love the aroma. So, of course I bought a bottle ages ago to use as a room fragrance for when I am feeling indulgent 😆 Now I know I’m not alone in using it this way 😊💕
RIGHT, Whitney? It's like the PERFECT room fragrance!
I love lost cherry 🍒 too ❤
Claire! Isn’t it the best!!
I think everyone on earth would enjoy it.)
My great loves are: 5, 5 Eau Première (which is more modern than 5), 18, 19, 22, Biarritz, 1932, Edimbourgh, Cristalle, Bel Respiro, Cuir de Russie, Boy… and more because always more to love.
Beautiful.
@@NotFitforPrintBeauty awwww thanks Rebecca! I will tell het that you said so, it will warm her heart, too. xx!
Is it banned? I mean part of me is ok with that in offices as the smell of mugler scents gives me a headache. But hmmm...
See reply I just for Rebecca, not banned as in legally, but most places do have "scent free environment" policies @@MsBNoodle
@@NotFitforPrintBeauty This is a place I recently purchased tickets for and this is pretty common:
Shenkman Art Centre is a scent-free environment.
You have such lovely taste in perfume!!!!!
I LOVE the Chanel!!!
There’s a suggestion in comments that we mix that Chanel with a vanilla scent which sounds delightful.
@@NotFitforPrintBeauty I may have to try that!!!
I love Tom ford lost cherry and cafe rose
I have not sniffed Cafe Rose but if you love Lost Cherry, that means Cafe Rose is worth the sniff!!!!
Hi! I love to layer! Have you tried Coco Mademoiselle with a vanilla such as Kayali 28 or another vanilla bu Comptoir Sud Pacific? It’s amazing together. I layered Bitter Peach with an amber perfume called Amber 114 this week and it was great. 😉
I'm going to try this! Thank you!
TOTALLY fair, intelligent points, as I come to expect from you. Always excellent information, Lisa!!!
Purchased it in July when he had his Birthday, hubby, it's soooooooo good!!! Sending you lots of love!!!😘😘😘😘😘😘
You have that association with Chanel no 5 too??? Oh Annemarie!!!!!!!!!!
@@NotFitforPrintBeauty yes, i do have that association dear. You too? I cannot help it. There is no timeline, no book, no nothing for grief, the connection between my mama and me was so deep. But i pray when it falls over me, best recipe for me. I'll pray for you too, because a scent, or jewelry, it's so personal and so difficult. I have some beautiful jewelry from her, i force myself to wear it, especially when i see my father and i know there will come a day when it's more easy, it's not even 3 years ago. Sending you all my love and prayers, anyway, and when you smell this, cause it's difficult!
Yes. My parents are elderly now and I remind myself to cherish each holiday because there won't be seemingly endless amounts of them anymore. @@annemarietimmerman7213

@@NotFitforPrintBeauty have you tried Kayali Lovefest Burning Cherry?
Lost Cherry is my forever favorite perfume obsession. But it is so expensive that on days I am not doing anything I use Mac Jacobs Perfect (Spring/Summer) and a Chloe perfume with a blush color bow on it (in the Fall and Winter).
Oooo nice dupes, Kim???? I am CURIOUS!
Love fragrances .. love Chanel Madmoseille
I hear I should mix it with a vanilla scent so I am super excited to try it.
@@NotFitforPrintBeauty yep, totally get it, tho, I find I can wear Jo Malone everyday
AGREED. Because they're not heavy.@@danaconnor8255

I've said it before but as a brit House of Sillage reminds me of cow food
It cracks me up because having been in Britain so much I know what silage smells like and now when I look at the name of the brand I can envision that scent instead. Not the most pleasant. As my husband says, “the smell of the country! “

Good 3:34am 🌏 west coast time Rebecca yes I'm awake had to take my heart ♥ meds and breathing pill 💊 I've been so stressed lately about my husband and I aren't getting along much again it's been going on about 10yrs now but we usually work things out 😮😢❤ but every year it's been tough since.... anyways I'm happy 😊you're taking your time ⌚ to talk about certain Parfums fragrance topics ever since I'm getting older and take more medications 💊 I've been sensitive to smells and hives but I do love ❤ Tom Ford , Chanel Allure cause It's more deeper tones and especially Jone Malone.... Mark Jacob's Essence it's a deep smell it's no longer around or unless you can find it on line or a antique shop of classic Parfums.... I also love Cartier, Guerlain , especially Hermes deeper tones .... it's usually a unique fragrance that is usually found at their alone stores or stores that have them also Burberry London used to be my favorite when I was young adult 😅 Givenchy irresistible back then in my late 20yrs old over 20yrs ago lol 😂 .... I'm not big floral 💐scent in Parfums only 🌹 rose as a flower not in Parfums well love 😍 ya have a great day talk later .... 😘💋

OMG 😮 Joan Malone it spell her name wrong lol 😂 my favorite from her is the pear 🍐 one and English freesia I forgot I have it on my dresser 😅❤ or anything with orange 🍊🍋or lemon fresh scents
Oh the pear and freesia fragrance is LOVELY!!!!
Do you wear these fragrances all year round?
Yes. But keep in mind, in Southern California, there truly are no seasons. I think the variance in Weather is maybe 20° f from hottest to coolest and the coolest isn’t very cold.
@NotFitforPrintBeauty ahh of course! So you have no need for a snowy weather perfume!
Tom Ford fan of most of his Fragrances. Although, Rose Prick smelled horrible on me.
I am 100% in agreement. So true
My top five (in no order)
Killian I don't need a Prince by my side to be a princess.
Killian Angels share
Coco mademoiselle
Tom ford solei neige
Maison Margiela when the rain stops.
I need a summery fragrance. I hate coconut and like oceany smells.
I have never tried any Killian and, I was telling someone else in another comment I have also never tried Creed. So both of those are on my list. I’m trying to think of a great almost summary ocean East salty fun summer sent. The Tom Ford ones are a little heavy for summer, aren’t they? Doesn’t Jo Malone have a sea salt type scent? I swear I seem to remember that.
