My name is Eric and I travel with my cats, “Tara” & “Opie” in a 24ft 2002 Ford Bigfoot Class C and tow either a 2014 lifted Smart Car named “Tater Tot” or my 2012 Harley Softail Slim named “Black Betty” in a 6x10 trailer. We travel about 35 miles a day chasing 70 degrees year-round since 2010.

Another cool video Eric. Thanks!.........You may laugh at this remedy for your Faux wheel covers..I have personally used this as well as many people I know both in the RV world and pickup trucks. You Simply take a HOT GLUE GUN and run a bead of hot glue behind each cover before you tap them on with your dead blow or rubber mallet. You need to make absolutely positively sure that both surfaces are SUPER CLEAN. I use a scrungie pad and Dawn dishsoap in hot water. Then scrub the rim and back of the cover to remove ALL the dirt, grime, wax, and road film. Dry thouroughly and put a liberal amount of hot glue on the back of the cover quickly tap into place before the glue cools and sets up.. (If you have two hot glue guns, thats even better. Try it. I have never heard of one falling back off after doing this. And, You can still remove the cover with the proper wheel cover remover when it's time for rotation or tire change. IT WORKS!!!!!
Those metal flowers art look great !! Maybe add a mini, like super mini, picnic table in Jax's memory since that was the first thing he would always do when ya'll got to a camp ground, was run and jump up on the picnic tables.

I actually had a similar situation. My cat was gone for 9 months!! He came back home neutered. I think someone took him trying to make him an indoor kitty. If you knew my cat, then you would know he would not stand for that! He lived out the rest of his feisty life with me. Orange kitties rock!! 😜

Monsoon season is no more than heavy rains from mid June to end of Sept.. since there is not much soil on the mountains flash floods in washes occur. Hail is more prevalent in NM..

I hope your kitty shows up, but you can't have cats running around outside when there are coyotes in the area. We lost one back in the 80's when one grabbed my grandmother's cat who was under our rv.
Outdoor kitty cats live fuller but shorter lives, sadly.
Yeah, my neighbor's cat never has gone outside only to the vet. And the indoor cats usually seem a bit more crazy to me. Maybe because they never get proper exercise.
@lobsterlovestories8760 Outdoor cats also decimate birds, snakes, lizards, frogs, ect. Keep your damn cats indoors.

Owned Harley Davidsons for several years and made multiple trips to Sturgis including riding all the way there. The "I Rode Mine" patches are poking fun at those who trailered them but when you are taking an RV, there isn't a lot of choice. As you grow older, you value comfort over what other people think! 😉 The Buffalo Chip is a hoot; you'll both enjoy that.
I have a Goldwing and rode to Sturgis a couple of times from Ohio. I had a patch that said, "Trailers are for Boats"
Get the large size plastic ties and secure it to the steel wheel through the holes in the simulator and the steel wheels and they should be able to stay attached a little more securely if they come loose. Pretty cheap fix.

Micro climates are a real thing. The further away you are from the weather station where the forecasting is focused on, the less probable the forecast will be.

Eric, take all the wheel simulators off and save them until you're ready to sell the RV. Clean and paint the wheels flat black. No worries!
I have had a front simulator cause a vibration. I prefer to do without 😌

I took the three I had on mine off here also . My RV is tan so I painted the rims an off white . Looks cool . Gives a reverse whitewall look .
My cat got out one time and after 2 weeks I had lost hope. My wife kept leaving the garage door open every night. Then one day she came in and went straight to her bowl and ask for food. To this date we never found out where she went. Keep the hope going!
I’m a maintenance man for a large learning institution. I’m talking 100 acres surrounded by woods. We have a shop cat in our maintenance shop that helps keep the mouse population down. Anyways before she got really old she would just disappear for the entire summer then show back up after summer. I wouldn’t give up just yet.
Eric I do not know if you can do this but a buddy of mine had issues with his wheel covers and he put safety wires on his, now if they come off they stay on the wheel and rattle he can hear it so he just pulls over and pops them back on. Maybe you could try that
I was also thinking using some sort of wire or zip ties to hold them on also.
@@blackhat4968 They make chrome zip ties too...thats a solid method.
Eric, try some 3M weatherstrip adhesive (lug nut glue) or some silicone gasket sealer on the tabs to keep those wheel simulators on. It will make them a little tougher to get off but you probably won't leave them on the side of the road. Keep the good stuff coming buddy.
Eric you need to go to the Atacama Desert in Chile and camp there for a week it has never rained there in history , as the Rain Man you are i bet you could make it rain there and document history lol.

Praying your kitty's return...we had one come home after 3 months...it maybe likely someone is helping. 😢 As much as the rain is needed, what a bummer when trying to finish projects! I say that from my own experience, as I had a stray Siamese for a spell, everyone was drooling over that cat, so I wasn't surprised he came up missing.

Cats love catios. They get fresh air and all the delicious outdoor smells as well as the sun on their fur. If it has tunnels, they run through them and get exercise. For overnights you can bring the kitties inside. Something to think about anyway.
yes on the catios. I have three catios the cats can enter them through the windows my cats love them thats why I ended up with having three catios. One on the shady side two on the sunny side
You should get some reusable cable ties for those simulators, if you get the metal ones they'd be barely noticeable. Or just bondo a little clip to the back and tie that to the wheels

A bit of life advice, When people make fun of you for some reason, just chuckle along and move on with your life. Taking exception over a random comment, much less posting about it in a video, does not help you in the long run. All this does is point out to everyone that this gets under your skin and the trolls will focus on it. If they can't get a rise out of you, they will move on. You do you though.

Back when I was a kid, there was a legendary pothole on a road in my town, hundreds and hundreds of hubcaps and wheel simulators fell victim to it, the local council did nothing with it for years. A genteleman who lived next to it ended up decorating his entire like 7 foot tall wire fence with them, made it to the news, still took the council a couple of years to fix it in the end.
Lol thought u were gonna say the man fixed the pothole himself 😂 but I guess then he couldnt get more wheels for his collection 😆
You need a catio. So much fun adding on to them can go with tunnels all over the property. Still take them in at night.

People are very condescending. We had many bikes over the years. We drove our bikes from Wisconsin all over Canada and the US. We still were not considered bikers because the bikes were not Harleys. We did have a Harley for 2 years and spent our vacations in the shop. Enjoy Sturgis!
I’ve had four Harleys but when I started riding again no way I could afford one. Found a nice V-twin Suzuki Boulevard and love it. Got straight Cobra pipes with a great sound and such a comfortable cruiser. Rode from FL to WV with a great dependable ride. My attitude even when I had my Harleys was glad you are riding whatever you ride. Have a friend with a new Harley trike. Plenty of trouble and everything so expensive.

To me Bikers are in an MC . I rode with three clubs and was a biker . Now ride independent and I am a motorcycle enthusiast . No more law breaking days for my old butt . LOL That was a rough life ( yet fun in my time ) . I never ignored or will ignore anyone that, loves riding man . I throw the low peace sign ( Ride safe ) to them all .
It's sad that you only have pop-on simulators. The ones on my Winnebago have two of the nuts that are real and actually bolt onto the lug studs.
Eric why don't you tie those on. I know it want stop a thief but would it help in keeping them on???
A note on your hubcaps if you go down, dusty roads are muddy roads every once in a while, you’d want to take them off and clean the rims because the dirt for some reason helps them come off
time to invest in vent dome covers , you'll never have to close a roof vent.

Not every monsoon season rains this much.
A trailer queen really is just someone who trailers their bike to Sturgis but not one who is driving their home and taking the bike as well. What do they think you are going to do?!?! We rode our bikes over 600 miles to Sturgis, but we stayed in hotels on the way and there….some people just like to complain.
Eric, take it from our experience, you may want to keep your saddlebags on for Sturgis. When my wife and I were there in 2022 we had a small set of bags on and it wasn’t enough. As soon as I got back from that trip I bought regular sized bags and haven’t regretted it. You have to carry rain gear and such there, but also for the gear and clothing you may pick up at some of the many places you might visit there. This info may be late as you are probably already on the road but thought I’d offer that bit of advice.

You can clean the rim and apply friction tape in a few areas for the teeth of the wheel cover to bite into and that will help you keep from losing them.
