I have listened to this song many times. I appreciate that you had the lyrics up because I never truly picked up on all of them. The line, "I pray to God to ask if hope's real," really got to me. As some one who grew up in a Christian household, but now holds other beliefs... and as someone dealing with depression... this line just hit me different.

I think "seven letters" might refer to the book of revelation in the the Bible, the end of the age when God judges, and restores everything that's redeemed. NF is looking for that final rescue. Revelation contains seven letters from Jesus to seven churches that existed at that time. If you check out the lyrics right before the seven letters line, I think the Revelation reference makes great sense.

As a person with OCD it describes exactly what it feels like to deal with it. Obsessive thoughts telling you its never good enough....being a perfectionist.
