I think that an issue is that the game compiles shaders during gameplay now, that wasn't the case until an update quite a while after launch (before this update the compilation was done before playing). This could be a reason for some of the high CPU usage at times.
Oh yeah! I remember the shader compilation taking a long time. Maybe it does it while loading for the first time? Because it took 6 minutes to load into the game.. it also makes sense for it to do it during gameplay, that would explain the 100% CPU usage in new parts of the map
@@zWORMzGaming Just watched the video and tried my system. Although first loading time is significantly faster (20-30 seconds), my 5800X sits at 100% and 82 degrees Celsius while doing it.
@@zWORMzGaming You can wait in the menu intil Shader Compile ist finished the CPU utilization goes down. When the vram is filled to 85% it is full and there is the first texture mud
This game is not an optimised masterpiece example but it plays solid and you know it will play okay ish on old high end hardware. Also respect for that r9 290.. It is such a fast card at only 950 mhz. That's insane if you think about it.
I haven’t played this game in a long time so much you can do in this game also, keep up the great work I say it every time but you are seriously amazing one of the best ❤❤❤
G'day Kryzzp & Digimoon, Thanks for another example of how you DO NOT "NEED the newest hardware for ALL THE FPS" to have a FUN gaming experience. During the 2500K section I agree when running around an area in a Sandbox Game those Loading Screens stopping gameplay like that is very distracting, considering how well the 4770K did if a Platform upgrade is too expensive trying to save for a 2600/3770 & another 8GB DDR3 would be a good idea.
On 3770K@4.7 with DDR3@2400MHz an 1070 (oc'ed) this game runs great on high/ultra settings @1080P (only drops I remembered was in one place : some kind of barbarian castle (and there was a lot of them) and it was at winter). Edit : R9 290 is a GPU with brutal force (I had Saphhire Trixx version so it wasn't so loud) but permormance/how that card aged is blow minding (ok, AC Odyssey was a reason that I changed that card to GTX 1070).
I love the Sapphire R9 Tri-X GPU Style I have a 270X Toxic & would like to get a 290/290X in the Vapor-X Blue, so I have one of each colour, 😞I miss GPUs looking like that, lets hope now Sapphire have brought back Toxic & Power Color is doing the Fancy Red Devils for RDNA they will keep up good looking GPUs.
It's nice to see a game where the min specs are actually somewhat reflective of the performance in the game. I test for a company and our minimum specs process is hot garbage and I imagine a lot of companies do the same thing as us. We send the game off to some external company, they plug in 10 or 15 computers, run the game on each, note the performance, then just pick the lowest performing parts No iteration or anything. We've managed to get minimum specs on an i3 2100 and the built in graphics for an I5 6000 series which you can't p[air together which is a bit annoying. It would be excusable (though not very entry level friendly) if it was accurate but I've been able to get the game running on lower spec at Ultra settings 30+ fps so it's not even accurate.
On the minimum config, it Looks more like a ram problem, instead of a CPU problem. Your 8gb is more or less max out all the time, and it use over 10gb on the I7
I always watch your video its an another level each time. its so funny when you joke about cyberpunk bob and other games 😂. i make special time to watch your videos keep it up bubby love all the way from india ❤
Maybe it doesn't run very well with those specs but it's very well optimized for higher end GPUs, i used to play this game at 4k with a 3060ti and i was getting around 60fps constantly
It seems that "minimum requirements" tends to mean "console experience," so about 30 FPS with low-ish console quality. Recommended is what can get you around 60 FPS at console levels of quality settings. Pretty sure that's a familiar refrain, and what the developers target when they make the recommendations.
I think it would be cool if you benchmarked Baldurs Gate 3 in the later game because it becomes a much more demanding game in the third act, especially when it comes to the CPU.
Kepler was a big jump from Fermi and was such a exciting generation. Sad to see it age this badly. Constant issues with texture missing, not rendered properly or flickering even if you look pass frame rate and VRAM issue. Such a shame, otherwise there would still be a bit more life left in 6/700 series cards. I always wonder what's physically lacking in the Kepler architecture. Also observe off textures in Ghost Recon Wildlands and MW 2022(before the game would crash).
Damn, i kinda wish you would OC that i5 2500k to see if it would make a difference. The 2500K was a legendary overclocker, 4.5ghz was pretty easy to reach, even 5.0ghz was doable.
WTF HOWWWW I just played this game and now you're making a video on it???? HUHHHH man I love this channel Would you mind making a review on this game for 1440p and 4k? I want to know the vram usage but my msi afterburner isn't showing vram usage
@@zWORMzGaming It definitely will, one thing that I noticed in this game is that the grass and other ground clutter distance is limited across all settings. So even on ultra there should be quite a lot of pop-in. Maybe something to pay attention to
i would say HZD is the best optimised game from recent Sony PC port i had play, on low end i7 2600k@ stock w rx5600xt ,16GB ram run on high/ultra 1440p 60+ FPS 95% of the time. other sony port not so much. GOW 2018 n Spider-Man both only can run around 45+FPS lucky both of those had consistent framepacing so still can play through the whole game, the rest just asking too much for this old PC.
They say It's a good game and should be played at max difficulty to explore/use every in game mechanics and have more fun, like Deathmarch in The Witcher 3 😊
I think the problem with 780 is that it doesn't have enough Vram, as you guys can see the game eats up to 3.7Gb with the R9 290. Btw, Steam requirements are not always true, you should make a whole series about that
When you see minimum settings that doesnt mean you should aim for those settings. Those are the ABSOLUTE MINIMUM you need to play the game. Always go with recommended. Always.
I played it on a 1050 ti... I didn't go back to it though and I don't know if I played before the update or not... I finished it but would have to return to it to do all the side quests...
AMD uses less powerful compression, so their cards need more VRAM, but on the other hand CPU overhead is lower. For a budget gamers AMD is traditionally better option.
Wow the Game is really demanding even beeing a couple of Years old :o No wonder the weak PS4 CPU only maintains 30FPS Locked. I think the flickering from the GTX 780 could be because it doesn´t support DX12 Natively, while the R9 290 does!
G'day, after building quite a few gaming PCs with 570/970/480/580/1060 level performance for CPUs this old instead of i5 if you can afford it I would recommend an i7 of at least a 3770, the Hyperthreading makes a huge difference to Frametime stability & as Kryzzp said here big difference in load times.
G'day, I DDU even when swapping between AMD-AMD & nVIDIA-nVIDIA, considering it is Freeware & only takes a couple of minutes to make sure you are giving yourself the best chance to eliminate problems which can cost you lots of 😖Frustration & 🤬Time 😡 which may include running DDU later I think it is time well spent.
