Linda Ronstadt took so much from the press and public. Her memoir is wonderful because it focuses on her career, music, family, upbringing, etc. She's a terrific writer and has had a fascinating life. Got to watch her interviewed and it was a great music and history lesson. She could teach at the college level. I think back to how she was often reduced to her relationships and looks, and I am so glad she prevailed in time. A stunning talent.

Taylor Swift has proven to be a consistent artist over the years as well as to be brave and having balls. She might not be a great "singer" when it comes to technical abilities but she's an excellent storyteller and composer. What completes the package is that from day 1 she has been "in control" of her music (probably due to the fact the she entered into the music scene with independent record label co-funded by her dad). She never took the vulgar road, taking off her clothes - which is something extremely rare in the pop scene. She invested her time to gain credibility as a songwriter and being appreciate for being *smart* rather than sexy. She's a true inspiration for all the woman out there! Kudos to her.
