He talks about how being a rabbit is not virtuous because it has no power to do anything. Being virtuous is having the power to protect yourself and others but using it for greater good not evil much like this man sticking up for the victims here. Some people felt he came on too strong the truth is he could have used verbal and physical intimidation and he didn’t but it’s clear he could have thats assertiveness done right. He truly DOES only make "recommendations" but those recommendations carry much weight. I've been in the ins biz for 31 years. Many of those years working on the carrier side. Now I'm a Public Adjuster. He can get things done if he truly wants to get them done. And, knowing that is half the battle. I've heard, "I only make recommendations" so many times I could puke. It's a cop out, plain and simple. My bet is, after that tongue lashing he got in this video, things started to happen. Oh, how I would love to get a claim that was denied for no storm related opening with a gaping hole in the top like that one had.

I worked for Progressive for 7 years and recently quit after seeing endless examples of frivolous spending and ridiculous bonuses being paid out to executives. They advise their vehicle estimators to look for downgrades on vehicles (minor stains on head liners, possible leaks, yellow head lamps, etc) on total loss vehicles in order to lower the ACV on them and pay out less. Their priority is pandering over peoples pro-nouns and finding ways to lower customers payouts.

I retired after 20 plus years of being a IA. Back in the day you had full responsibility to find coverage and you had to have background in construction, nowadays they hire bar tenders, Walmart greeters, car sales man, nothing wrong with these skills but they have no knowledge of constructions mixed with “deny, delay and defend coverage”. no longer do you need an adjuster License to run claims because they are nothing more then a glorified photo taker for a guy inside a office denying coverage. Back in the day we stood toe to toe with contractors until we both came to the same conclusion on what was needed to make the policy holder while again.

I live in Oklahoma, so you already know where this is going. Two years ago we had an EF1 cut right by our house. It ripped up huge swaths of shingles and the underlayment, but structurally nothing was wrong. I called the insurance company no more than a half hour after the storm had passed. You know, trying to do the right and responsible thing. Nope. The insurance agency asked me right off the bat, "so was there a bunch of wind with the tornado?", to which I replied, Yes. They proceeded to tell me that 100% of all repairs was on me because they don't cover wind damage. It was a F*****G tornado! I got a roofer who deals with these lowlife pieces of sh!t and he went to town on them. We got to the point of taking them to court along with 5 other neighbors before the adjuster came out and claimed 'it was a paperwork mistake', and they fixed our roofs. I say fixed, not replaced. State Farm, Progressive, Geico, etc... are nothing but legal scams here in America. Adjusters lie from the time they arrive on site until they leave, and they get paid to do so. I've since learned how to repair my own roof and haven't looked back. These insurance adjusters belong in prison.

I don't don't know of an insurance policy that SF issues in Oklahoma that doesn't cover wind and/pr damage. Some insurance companies might not cover wind damage for homeowners who go to purchase for a house with an old roof until their roof is replaced. The structure should have been covered even if the roof was excluded. It sounds like a major screw up by the company. Especially so, to tell tornado victims that they have no coverage. Why don't you tell us who the actual company was? Also, don't by insurance from any company that doesn't have a local agent who will sit down with you a review in detail what their policy doesn't cover.

Always have a fair and reasonable estimate ready for adjuster with eagle view and good pics to make his job easy . If he’s still an asshole and the damage is legit then just get some coverage extended in the form of repairs . Then work reinspect process if that doesn’t work go to appraisal . You will win if there’s legitimate damage 99% of time

I'm an insurance agent and I will absolutely go to back for a client, if an adjuster is not acting right. I try to watch videos like this because I'm not out in the field during a claim and can only go off of my clients word and the adjuster. As many times as I've seen an unreasonable adjuster, I've seen twice as many unreasonable homeowners. I had a guy who switched his insurance to us in July of last year. His previous policy had ACV for roof coverage whereas ours was Full Replacement (look it up). He found hail damage on the roof. Our adjuster agreed there was hall damage but the last reported hail storm in the area was June. The client sent me documentation trying to prove there was a hail storm since he set up the policy with me. His own "proof" literally agreed with my adjuster that the last known hail storm in his area was indeed June. I explained this to him and he still couldn't accept the fact that the coverage would've applied to his previous policy with the ACV coverage

I was a insurance adjuster for 12 years and came from a construction background, I handled all sorts of inspections including large loss, I don’t know for sure if this adjuster did his job thoroughly or not but can guarantee that I did on all claims I worked, they way I viewed it is that it was not my money so I will recommend replacing when there is obvious damage but with that being said I have had several claims that I did everything in my power to resolve and should have been a no brainer but went 9-12 months without any communication with management, you are not allowed to call a manager you can only send a internal message which they refuse to respond and if you get pushy you will get in trouble by different management telling you that your claims will be taken away and sent to another assignment, you are paid by the claim so they would threaten to take food off your plate for not just sitting back and allowing them to drag their feet. Basically the adjusters are the punching bag for the big insurance companies making all the money, also you make less money per claim if you deny it rather than pay but upper management gets bonuses for a certain amount of denied claims so they pay the policy holder less money, the adjuster that is there is getting paid less money and in return give out bonuses for the higher ups, reason I quit and now working back with construction mainly storm damage so I can fight these crooked big companies that think they can abuse the little guy.

  • @MeowMixKix

This sucks. I'm dealing with this right now after a Tornado and Hail damage. Adjuster marked hail damage all over the house, HVAC condenser, chimney, siding, fascias, screens, all metals on the roof, the exhaust vents along the peak of the roof. Then when it came to the roof itself and the shingles, he said he couldn't tell it was hail damage and said it could be normal wear. Lol Keep in mind our roof is only 8 years old. New for a roof. He said he has never seen a roof this new wear, but he couldn't 100% say it was from the hail and storm. After marking everything else as hail damage. Lol The contractor laughed his ass off and they are going back and forth with it right now. Have a 2nd adjuster coming soon. These adjusters probably get bonuses for keeping claims down.
So he was basically like ya, you have lots of hail damage and I'm going to cover everything thats relatively cheap, but not the expensive part. Luckily I personally know my agent and he is involved on our side.
