do people really care that much about interior as far as soft-touch material? Maybe it's just me, but I grew up with older cars. If it has a steering wheel and a seat, im good lol
As a daily driver, especially if I am covering long miles, or stuck in traffic... I'm gonna need more than a steering wheel and seat. What are we? Savages? Lol.
The red key is required to access all 707hp. When you buy a Hellcat, you get four keys: 2 red, 2 black. As far as interior quality, it all depends on what package you get. I'm a tech, and former salesman at a Dodge dealership.
Michael Lee then you should know they came with 3 keys for the first two years (2 red 1 black) and for the 2017 and newer cars they only had one black and one red key.
I bought the SRT 392 Charger and have had a great time with it, but I couldn't stand not having the Hellcat, so I'm trading up to it. These cars are like having your cake and eating it too. A great family car that can hang with most sports cars on the open road and still handle really well. The Charger is perfect for long drives and all things most other cars you'd compare can't do. Drop off the kids, take grandma shopping and later...hit the track, all in the same car!
+Robert Brody Not only that, the Hellcat gets 21-22mpg hwy if you use cruise control @65-70mph. I dare say none of the Euros with this power can match that even at their lighter weight. And it does it on pump gas. And it's so docile around town. Take the kids to school, go get groceries, whatever. And STILL get 14-15mpg in town. That's as good as my wife's T&C V6. IMHO there is no better all around car than the Hellcat Charger. It can truly do it all, and for a lot less money and far more comfort than most. If I could afford one I would have already traded for it.
+Abduallah Meshal Yes our cars have big radiators and very strong a/c systems because they have to be designed for our warm-hot climates. I live in Texas and our summers can get over 110* F. Arizona and New Mexico get even hotter. I would STRONGLY suggest you get a light colored car, the lighter color the better like white with dark tint windows. White would be best for heat reflection, not only for you and your passengers but for the engine as well. I personally like 4 door cars. I drive a Chrysler 300. But the Challenger is also a big car and your friends would have no trouble getting in and out of the rear seat. I say go for it. The SRT has great power, especially the newer cars with the 6.4L motor that makes 470/470. The Scat Pack cars will be a little more powerful. And they run fine on 91-93 octane pump gas.
+Nicolas Bourgogne - We're enjoying having a drone and are working very hard to constantly improve on the show. Lots of stuff on the way. Thanks for watching!
+maximus9401 Me too. My 9 year old little girl loves cars too and she loves the Hellcat. She was watching with me and when that came up I told her it was time to watch in her room. A little warning in the beginning would be good.
I always wonder why reviewers are always touching the dashboards and sides of the doors to see if they're soft touch. I mean like they're not going to touch it everytime they go into their car. So why the fuck do they even care if it's soft touch?
+Jeric Tamayo (Momentum33) Agreed. All the "soft touch" BS is just that. Believe me, the fit and finish of the SRT Charger is MORE THAN good enough for me. I didn't pay $55K for mine just so that I could nitpick bullshit like that.
He wouldn't be a reviewer if he wouldn't care^^ But yeah for example try european car's. Yes the Charger is enough but if you drive these fine european car's, the charger just doesn't feel "enough". It is not even solely about feeling..you can see it also.
European cars come with leatherette not real leather. If you want to compare 65K car with 155K euro car with similar power and size, it is fine. But most German cars never are known for soft interiors, they like firm cars, suspension etc. Charger offers much civilized ride, leave aside top lexus or certain top level Mercedes.
+John Smith Well if they had traction control and stability control engaged, the computer will cut power from the engine if the wheel speed sensors detect too much slip. I assume that since they aren't exactly professional drivers and that I believe they enjoy being alive, they left both those systems on in those mountain passes.
Ok I watched this video again and I am officially in love with how you guys explain the capabilities of this incredible machine inside the car, and how much you like what it can do. I did not know that the performance parameters could be "mixed and matched". That has to allow the owner get a lot more "in tune" with the car, to quickly fall in love with what is possible to dial the car's capabilities in for his driving style. I love that first drone pass from the side of the road up and over the car and the sound of the engine as it goes under. The in-car cameras are very clear as is the audio all the way through. I don't know where it was filmed but I like the background shots and the drone movements. As for driver comfort, surely the leather pkg comes with at least the power driver's seat so you can set it how you want?? And didn't Dodge put "soft-touch" materials on the doors and dash? Great work here gentlemen but this may be my last time to watch this video. It makes me want to trade for it but I can't afford this car. I rarely drive my paid-for 300C b/c I'm retired on S/S and I have no rich relatives who want to die and leave me money. :-(
RP Productions hey rp. I know you might not reply since your comment is 2 years ago. But do you recommend the challenger or charger hellcat. I'm leaning more towards the charger.
challenger is a slightly smaller charger with two less doors. Fitting people in a challenger is easy. But rear doors is even easier. looking at a charger 392 myself.
MSRP might be around $71,000 or so, but good lucking buying them at that price. Dealerships are up marking hellcats by 15-20k. Insanely good car for the money though if you can find one at the right price
+macfan999 All the pre-orders for the 2015's have been cancelled because Dodge couldn't meet the demand for the car. Its selling way better then they thought it would. Those who had pre orders were put first in line for the 2016's. From what I understand Dodge is going to open more lines to build more of them. I think they are shooting for 15k hellcats for 2016
I went looking for a Scat Pack, found one, and the dealer marked it up from $47k to $58k..... Found an SRT8 for $51k somewhere else, and then they were like "well, what if we take off that mark up?" So some dealers, I guess, are just bastards.
Everyday Driver is the reason I got a 2013 Charger SRT-8. Yes, my car is Texas! You guys are awesome. I like the opinions and you guys compliment each other well.
This car is HOT! But I don't speculate or compare this car anymore to other cars. Why? Because. I understand now how to look at this car and not get disappointed at some aspects or features that the chargers don't have that other competitors do have. The Dodge Charger Hellcat is a full on muscle car that is about pure power and aggression. Yes it does have some cool and up to date safety and technology features to it as well. But let's be real here about two things when it comes to chargers. #1 • dodge doesn't make chargers for luxurious reasons #2 • no one buys a charger for luxurious reasons It took me some time to cope with that fact. "How can such an awesome beast of a car not have interior luxuries that other cars do to add on to what it already had to offer?" For example. One of my favorite luxuries that I cannot go without these days in any car. A dual pane sunroof. I won't go into detail about other features because I think I got my point across already. But bottom line. The charger is what the charger is and it does what it was created to do and be. A monster beast of a full sized four door sedan. Monsters and luxury in my opinion in this matter probably wouldn't match up to well. 😂
Maybe I missed it but did the guy in red say how big he is? Just trying to get an idea on the room. I’m 6’4” 250 and don’t want to be scrunched up cause it will be my everyday driver.
I've been a MOPAR guy since the mid 1970's when I owned two 1969 Roadrunners. As a young Cop in 1979 I was issued a '73 Satellite with a 318. I still drive a Dodge Ram 1500 SLT package with the 5.9 liter. Still, as much as I love my Mopars if I'm going to spend $60 Grand(!) I'm getting a BMW when I retire...
As much as i love the Hellcat and Mopar in general i can't see myself putting $70k for a Charger. Challenger yes (i'm going to next year if everything workout) but as a 4 door monster i chose M5 or E63 they just seem way better built and heck you don't see a cop driving one.
Nik Brudar not really when you consider the heavy dealer markup! plus the better built quality you get from BMW or MB but i'd i still love the Hellcat for pure brutality.
onesidequeens my city got the srt versions and let the car school in my area have a bit of fun with them so they are now supercharged, the sheriff ones are bremboed, and the srt jeeps are getting here next week.
I really wonder how much more expensive this car would be a just a little better fit and finish? Just a little bit better quality control? And a little bit better materials? Yes it is cheaper compered to the Europeans but it also feels cheaper. Maybe it will cost $10-15K more. But then maybe it would expand it's customer base even more, contrary to what most people think. People that can afford $70K can often go up a bit more, if the car is worth it.
loved the video but wish you yall could of recorded the tach when doing a 0-60 time and maybe discussed the fastest way to get to 60. is there launch control?
its high because of its engine, and its technology.(also dealer mark ups don't help at all.) The suppliers that Chrysler use now for there cars are the same suppliers that Benz, Maserati, Audi, and Ferrari use. Quality parts and tech allow you to be apart of the 200 mph club. its heavy for a reason. great review
I have a Redline Charger Hellcat SRT. $75,000 is a bargain right up till you have to replace pads, rotors or tires - and then there's the 9MPG mixed driving. The materials SUCK in my opinion. The interior inserts of EVERY SINGLE HELLCAT should match the body color - unless a person "builds" one in a configurator. The lack of a moonroof or sunroof and the lack of IMPORTANT FEATURES such as: #1 front collision detection #2 Adaptive cruise control #3 front parking sensors really hurts the Hellcat in ways that the $55,000 Charger SRT isn't hurt - since it offers most necessary features.
I have a car that makes the same exact mpg as the hellcat. if I had my foot down to 60 after every stoplight I'd make 9mpg as well. boohoo you need new pads, literally the easiest diy job. tires, get cheap used tires for your hooning. You buy a hellcat to say you have 707hp under your foot, to have that peace of mind that you could get up to speed on the highway in 5 seconds. There's a reason why people dream to have this car. There's also people who non-chalantly buy this car and never appreciate it because they want their fully wrapped leather interior that'll smell like nothing but old men after a few years. If youre so worried about mpg, maybe you shouldn't be buying an $80,000 car that drinks gas like an early 90's sedan. Chevy Sparks make excellent gas mileage my friend.
tefrumpzax These cars offer the power of Exotic cars. Because they are so limited and expensive, they offer the "exoticness" of foreign exotic cars as well. A Hellcat gets as much or more attention than many Ferraris do. That's a major achievement. There are plenty of people who buy exotics and drive them without appreciating them.
+bigtruckseriesreview I'll have to apologize as right now I find myself watching one of your videos by complete accident. I do take back what I said, hard to judge you on what you say in a comment. But now that I do see you're real life opinions I respect you. Id just thought you were another one of those people who'd bought a car cause they thought they'd like it but didn't know enough about cars because they were in it to jump on the bandwagon (basically those people bidding for that $100k hellcat in your video)
Agree wholeheartedly about the interior quality. For a 71K car, there should be some drastic upgrades over the lower end models. For example, the hexagon/carbon fiber looking trim on the Hellcat looks really cheap, whereas on the Daytona model, they went with a distressed brush metal look. It's still plastic, but it looks and feels better than what they went with in the Hellcat. As for the dash, I firmly believe that the Hellcat should come with a leather stitched dash. As for the door panels, they should use Alcantara accents. Little details like that would make me feel a little better about the pricetag. That being said, I just could not bring myself to pulling the trigger on a Hellcat. I was at the dealer, ready to sign paperwork but I kept looking at a Daytona 392, seeing the price and saying "this feels much better". Do I regret it? Yep ;) Did I make the smart decision? Yep. Either way, the Hellcat is one hell of a car.
I need a lil car help. So the car I drive now is a Mazda protege 02' which I have for almost 2 years. I've been working like crazy and I'm looking for an upgrade. I'd like a 4 door sports car because I have a child. But I'm looking at the Charger, Challenger, Mustang, Camaro models. I'm looking more for ride and stability with a low pricetag but power. Any suggestions??🤷🏾♂️
GREAT review guys !! I saw a Hellcat last week, Man the created a cloud of smoke , and very quickly he was a small dot in the horizon. Impressive car. The RED key gives you 707 HP. I want that key. :-)
Nice car but still prefer the new Challengers over the new chargers , Challnger still has that old retro bad ass look to it which is why I like the Challenger better
This is a GREAT car! Forget the weight comparisons, the manual vs automatic trans comparisons, and even the burnouts. This is a road car like no other. It's convenient and practical - buttoned down even - and just awesome in every other respect as well. Forget all the "excess" bullshit. This is EXACTLY what any proper "American driving machine" worth the name SHOULD BE. At $70K (if you can find one) it's a bargain!
Lol he said he likes the last gen better but yet he likes the front hell the only thing different is the front N back so how dose it look less aggressive
I drive a 2006 Chrysler 300C with the SBH which is bigger even than this car, and surprisingly, 500lbs LIGHTER. To get to the Hellcat's power I would have to build a stroker motor to say 400-426ci with forged internals and use either a centrifugal s/c or a twin screw s/c or twin turbo s/c. On top of that I would have to beef up the driveline, rear end and transmission. I would be looking at $12-$15k, maybe more. My car is only worth about $9000 and it's paid for so idk if it's worth it to put that much $$$ into it now. I put a chip on it so it's got good power even stock. I may just leave it as is and put better seats in it. I hate the stock driver's seat it won't hold me in. I keep sliding around, plus there's very little lateral support.
I've heard a lot of people say the car handles better then they thought it would. I am really curious to see if I can find one to test drive and see how it does. I think you hit it right on with this car being a dick swinging contest. It sure is a nice time to be a car guy with the horse power wars heating up again. The biggest issue I see with the hellcats are them getting their power to the ground. There are a few cars in its class with less power getting times just as good or better due to them being able to put the power down. Which one of you was the first to get a speeding ticket or exhibition of speed with the car?
+aszrael1266 Yep, it's usually the people that say the handling is bad that have never driven one. They also always compare it to track made cars like the Camaro Z/28, but forget that the Hellcat was never meant to be a track car.
Chance Hales it has 275/40 on it. I do agree that they are small, but at least you are able to upgrade after you get it if you'd like. Most people put 310s on the rear.
do people really care that much about interior as far as soft-touch material? Maybe it's just me, but I grew up with older cars. If it has a steering wheel and a seat, im good lol

The red key is required to access all 707hp. When you buy a Hellcat, you get four keys: 2 red, 2 black. As far as interior quality, it all depends on what package you get. I'm a tech, and former salesman at a Dodge dealership.

+Robert Brody Not only that, the Hellcat gets 21-22mpg hwy if you use cruise control @65-70mph. I dare say none of the Euros with this power can match that even at their lighter weight. And it does it on pump gas.

Nik Brudar not really when you consider the heavy dealer markup! plus the better built quality you get from BMW or MB but i'd i still love the Hellcat for pure brutality.
One Pretty Muthafucka I live in Europe as well and haven't seen it. Not even a better version of E.
Nik Brudar Nik Brudar!!!!! What's up, Nik?
Willy Willy Wow, now you've gone back in time!
If you ever run into Ralph, you tell him this here film sold me my first new car ever.
The sound is just amazing
the initial drone footage is on point
If highway patrol picked these up I would definitely become a trooper 🤣
onesidequeens my city got the srt versions and let the car school in my area have a bit of fun with them so they are now supercharged, the sheriff ones are bremboed, and the srt jeeps are getting here next week.
Great shot at the end!
No this is for muscle car lovers not meant for interior it’s literally the point to keep it simple
Nice drone footage at the end, there!
the sound is so amazing
that induction sound of the supercharger is intoxicating
Great video as always!
Dodge charger ART hellcat is exclusive and unique ,It's really wonderful
Thanks form this company
This is just a great looking car & I love the charcoal grey w/black rims.
Daddy wants one of these!
loved the video but wish you yall could of recorded the tach when doing a 0-60 time and maybe discussed the fastest way to get to 60. is there launch control?
Real nice work guys!
its high because of its engine, and its technology.(also dealer mark ups don't help at all.) The suppliers that Chrysler use now for there cars are the same suppliers that Benz, Maserati, Audi, and Ferrari use. Quality parts and tech allow you to be apart of the 200 mph club. its heavy for a reason. great review
I prefer the old front and back ends. I love my '12.
Awesome car. Where is that road? Great job guys.
I thought that the charger and challenger had the same chassis? But right at 4:37 they say that they've driven the engine in a different chassis....
The lack of a moonroof or sunroof and the lack of IMPORTANT FEATURES such as:
#1 front collision detection
#2 Adaptive cruise control
#3 front parking sensors really hurts the Hellcat in ways that the $55,000 Charger SRT isn't hurt - since it offers most necessary features.
+bigtruckseriesreview I heard they need a new clutch at only 5 k
Chevy Sparks make excellent gas mileage my friend.
guy proulx Manuals take more abuse than automatics.

These cars offer the power of Exotic cars.
Id just thought you were another one of those people who'd bought a car cause they thought they'd like it but didn't know enough about cars because they were in it to jump on the bandwagon (basically those people bidding for that $100k hellcat in your video)
please do a challenger scat pack edition or a 2015 SRT 392 charger or challenger
That last shot was superb. Did you guys recently buy a drone?
Great overview. Nice car.......thanks!
You guys got a drone. Nice!
Lol he said he likes the last gen better but yet he likes the front hell the only thing different is the front N back so how dose it look less aggressive
can we get a non-hellcat srt Charger vs the Chevy SS sedan?
So.. No critique or comments about rear passenger comfort in this 4-door saloon?
Great review.
Amazing road and scenery!! What part of California is this?
Nice ending shot!
you guys using drones to get those cool sweeping shots?
Great video! love the car!
Do you guys plan on testing the Challenger Scat pack? Interested to see how you feel about that car compared to these beasts
Are you guys going to review the new ND Miata?
Just owning a Hellcat will do it for me 💯🤟🏽😈
this car is beautiful, i really hope they don't discontinue it.
That's the way a car suppose to be! when is the hell cat prius coming out?
COOL Dodge Charger SRT Hellcat Review - Everyday Driver
I can't wait to see you guys review the new Shelby.
finally using a drone cam =)
Future goal, I'm in between the hellcat, gtr, used Bentley or used M6 grand coupe
Can you guys review a 2016 charger scatpack? I'd love to hear your take on the car.
Great review!
love this car...all time likes. might sneak over to dealer and get one
thats my car I want that when I grow up
I’m thinking about getting one! I have a Charger Scat pack!
I'm so curious whether to know which transmission is more fun to drive in the hellcat. Anyone have any opinions?
Nice to see you can get one with a sunroof
This reminds me of a wrx sti. You buy it for the performance, not interior quality
Someone said this but with evo shit comment man
I've heard a lot of people say the car handles better then they thought it would.
Agreed
+aszrael1266 Yep, it's usually the people that say the handling is bad that have never driven one. They also always compare it to track made cars like the Camaro Z/28, but forget that the Hellcat was never meant to be a track car.
+aszrael1266 Agreed. It definitely could use some wider rubber. 265s? C'mon, where are the 315s? It's no Z/28 in the corners but it will hold its own.
Chance Hales it has 275/40 on it. I do agree that they are small, but at least you are able to upgrade after you get it if you'd like. Most people put 310s on the rear.
+T John Close enough lol
Going 80 mph in the hellcat is completely different from going 80mph in an 03 corolla. Because in the hellcat, u know it has waaaay more potential
Good review, but most everyday people can't afford a car like this!
Are they going to make a 800 bhp version of this like they're with the Challenger X
