Some areas are preserved, like the drawing offices which are now part of the Titanic Hotel. When the shipyard went into severe decline from the 1960s onwards, the owners had no clue that the site would become the huge tourist hub it is today. If they did, more of the structures including the Arrol Gantry would likely have been preserved.
