Hey beaver, I have to say - I'm so so so, so glad that you went back to releasing these short talks. I can speak for all of us when I say this shit is nothing short of healing. ... Plus this is a jealousy provoking piece - thanks so much man, we love you!

Steven telling me I'm "sitting down to a long lunch with the most boring person" and he hasn't even met my mother in law's art demon 👹

  • @costelinha1867

Honestly, he''s spot on. I mean I know you wanna make that super cool art, maybe it's a more simplistic/minimalistic art style, but you just can't get it right, your perspective, or anatomy, or color theory, or maybe even just your lines aren't up to par yet. I get that, I literally have frequent depression breakdown crysis because of that shit... but... you can't have that right now, it takes time, you need to learn, to accept your art as it is, not as something inherently bad that makes you "invalid" as an artist, but as just something that IS... that just exists, not bad or good, and I'm learning this a bit, and as a guy who wants to make comics and love to see people reacting to my art, I'll have to give you a sting...

This brings me back to a part in the book "The Music Lesson", in which the "teacher" points out to Victor that while a "note" might not sound right or fit in its current octave, it might better be used in a different octave (octave relating to perspective/mindset). It's the same note, just being observed in a different mental texture.

I have this weird love-hate relationship with art and drawing in general. I love it and what it can create and feelings it can give. I hate my lack of significant progress and subconcidental attempts to turn something that can bring joy into my life a senseless grind, trying to appease some distant dream of successful but utterly tyrannical me in the future. Your videos help to take a step back and just think for a damn minute. Like finally getting that breath of air after being underwater. Thank you

  • @onewingedhawk6134

Thankful that you are making these art talk videos again.

  • @dinoblaster736

  • @keremaldemir2579

Love that you're back on track with these great videos Steven, keep it up!

  • @luci_annihilates

Even though i feel like I already know/understand what you are saying, Iv'e been acting against my better judgement and understanding recently, so its nice to hear this. Especially with the level of coherency in which you explain it.

  • @Dagaz_art

    Amazing painting, Steve

  • @sharpstudio241

amazing work man, commentary very fun and insightful too, Thanks Steven

  • @costelinha1867

Honestly, at this point I'm just keeping watching videos that say the same thing to try and finally get my brain to understand that.

  • @stratovolcano7813

I love this style of video from you :) it makes me feel like I'm both meditating and inspired

  • @felipep1100

  • @lakasilum

can you please add fanny to the lore of the project you and joe are working on? pretty please?

  • @4blasphemy

i think there is a pretty interesting connection here with intent, goal and want, i am not yet sure how exactly and why, but i am sure i will keep trying to figure it out, that is my intent afterall, or my goal, or my want, i yet do not know

  • @mikeostwald9645

Hey Steven, do you have any advice on how to get better at acting for character design? I was watching your pandaemonium design process and these sculptures and paintings you designed look so alive and dynamic everytime I try to do something like that they look like someone is trying to force certain poses on these characters instead of these characters naturally acting out the pose that they want to be in if that makes sense.

  • @JDoe-gf5oz

Then why do they make erasers?
