That was all Geoff. He has a 5 octave range. I hope you will check out more of his solo work and his work with the group Voiceplay.

Welcome to the one man group/band Geoff Castellucci. Brilliantly talented vocalist and musician. Though I'm a metal fan, Geoff's versions of Ain't no sunshine, Shenandoah, ghost riders in the sky (among others) have converted me.... Usually Geoff is discovered via Voiceplay, its nice to see it the other way round sometimes... He has a great sense of humour which sometimes comes out in his covers such as way down (Elvis). Headless horseman, monster mash among others..... Voiceplay cover practically every genre from Disney to Metallica.... put your seat belt on, it's a big rabbit hole 😊 🇬🇧

Oh, you're in for a treat if you go down this rabbithole!
To answer your question, yes, every vocal you heard was his. Geoff has a 5 octave range, and other songs of his display more of his upper range. He is a 100% independent artist, funded by Patreon, and was also the arranger, and also did the video concept and editing. Frequently he shoots his videos with fixed cameras, and in those cases he and his wife, Kathy (who is also his production manager) are the entire crew. He's also the bass singer of the a cappella group, VoicePlay, a likewise independent group of whom Geoff is a founding member (since 1997). VoicePlay is one of the big three a cappella groups, with Home Free and Pentatonix, but they are lesser known because of their independent status. They are another rabbithole you really ought to check out; the other guys are vocal monsters just like Geoff.
In terms of recommendations, I'd suggest his cover of Folsom Prison Blues (because you mentioned liking country, and Geoff clearly loves Johnny Cash), Ghost Riders in the Sky, and Man of Constant Sorrow. If you want to really hear him stretch his range, his cover of the Beatles' Blackbird, or if you want something a little newer, his cover of I See Fire by Ed Sheeran from the Hobbit soundtrack also displays it quite well. And yes, the four gentlemen in that video are all Geoff, with good makeup. In many of his videos, he creates video clones of himself, which does tend to make it clearer that all the vocal harmonies are his own.

Glad you enjoyed his cover :) if you like country music, Geoff also did "Ghost Riders in the Sky", "Folsom Prison Blues", and "Man of Constant Sorrow" also "Sixteen Tons" and "Big Bad John". You can't go wrong with his videos, honestly

Someone else has said Simon and Garfunkel is the waring, Disturbed is the rage the warning wasn't headed, Geoff is the sorrow in the aftermath, and the hope.

Welcome to the Geoff rabbit hole! If you like country music, I recommend his covers of 16 Tons, Man of Constant Sorrow, Take Me Home, Country Roads and Folsom Prison Blues. If you also check out his band, VoicePlay, their cover of Metallica's Nothing Else Matters is incredible. Hoist The Colours and Valhalla Calling Me are other epic songs.
    Good luck!

Geoff sings deep bass but can also go to tenor. He has a range of five octaves, and all velvety smooth. He is an independent artist so can do anything he wants with a song. He arranges, sings, films and edits it all himself with the help of his wife Kathy. Occasionally he will rope in other members of the acapella group he belongs to. For instance Vp member Eli is usually in charge of liighting. VoicePlay are also independent artists. It's all there in the credits below the title. Yes it's all him singing, and all the musical backing is him too. He's a one man band. He used to work for Disney in the past so sometimes does Disney stuff, as do VoicePlay, but they can cover any genre, which must be fairly unique amongst a capella groups. Their arrangements are always unique and sensational. Geoff is responsible for his own and about half of VoicePlay's too. He's incredible.

He is completely independent, no label, no manager, and does almost everything himself. Sometimes camera and makeup artists, and the final mix is done by Ed Boyer who also does that for Voiceplay and other acapella groups.
His most popular piece is Far Over The Misty Mountains Cold from the first Hobbit movie, it just hit 20 million views.
Next try his cover of Shenandoah, it is sweet, soothing and gorgeous.
When you get to Voiceplay, start with In The Air Tonight. Trust me.
Subscribed in anticipation of more Geoff and Voiceplay!

I have subscribed to see more Geoff Castellucci reactions. He is amazing and has a 5 octave range and does all the parts when he sings. On several of his videos you will see multiple "Geoff's". He is the bass singer for VoicePlay which is another total amazing group.
I would recommend Geoff's versions of: Ain't No Sunshine, Far Over The Misty Mountain Cold; I see Fire; 16 Tons; Folsom Prison Blues; Big Bad John; Jack's Lament and Wicked Game to name a few.
you should also check out VoicePlay: Nothing Else Matters; Dream On; Valhalla Calling (my favorite); Hellfire; The Lion Sleeps Tonight; Hoist The Colors; Drunken Sailor; Seven Nation Army; Creep; In The Air Tonight; Tennessee Whiskey and many, many more.
Enjoy the trip down the rabbit hole.

Geoff does have his own channel - not acapella. He does all the parts. He started this channel when Covid interfered with VoicePlay's touring. When he isn't doing his versions, he is one of the original members of VoicePlay back from 1997 when it was called 4:2:Five. Some of his that I love - 16 Tons (Tennessee Ernie Ford), Monster Mash (my first music I heard on RUclips), Till Then (Mills Bros) a WW2 song from the perspective of a soldier going off to war asking his love to wait Till Then, God Rest Ye Merry Gentleman (maybe a little late for Christmas but grand), Ain't No Sunshine (Bill Withers), just did Wicked Games (Chris Isaaks), Blackbird (Beatles), Way Down (Elvis), Blue Christmas (Elvis) and Shenandoah will get you started with this variety pack!

Another one you may enjoy is Ain't No Sunshine. He gives it a twist with a new arrangement and you hear some of the depths, but more of the middle and upper range - and all of his ranges are really beautiful. He is total master of tone quality. He's commented that, at least in the "old days" he used to do 70+ takes in a day and reject them all for tone. Didn't SOUND good (enough). I really appreciate people who are not only talented, but disciplined enough to master their craft. Geoff is continually improving.

Oh, I hope you go down the Geoff rabbithole! He has an amazing collection of covers. If you enjoy country you should check out his covers of Fulsom Prison Blues, Man of Constant Sorrow, and Take Me Home Country Roads. He arranges, films, edits, and performs all the vocal parts. He is 100% independent and funded by his Patreon. He has a 5 octave range and also sings bass in an acapella group called Voiceplay. You should react to their cover of Nothing Else Matters, originally by Metalica but they cover a huge variety of genre's from Disney to classic rock to pop to orchestral pieces. They are more theatrical than the other top three acapella groups and will frequently perform their videos in full costume or for some of the disney pieces do more of a disney bounding style of costume. I am subscribing in anticipation of more Geoff and Voiceplay. They both have a large back catalog of videos and you should add to your weekly rotation.

Great reaction and welcome to the world of Geoff Castellucci. To answer your question, he does all of the parts and layers them together. He also arranges all of his covers often times writing his own lines to insert and make it more original. He is also part of an acapella group called Voiceplay, which I highly recommend that you check out as well. If there was one recommendation from Geoff's channel I could make, it would have to be his cover of "High and Dry" by Radiohead. He also just came out with a cover of Chris Isaak's "Wicked Game" which is quickly becoming my new favorite. Hope this helps and, again, welcome to the community :)

Do go down The Rabbit Hole! Geoff is phenomenal! He has an awesome range and he sings all of the parts in his videos except one time when he sang Mele Kaliki Maka with the American Sirens.
He is the bass singer for his group VoicePlay ans they are super fantastic. Geoff arranges about half rhe songs with the beatboxer areanging the other half.
I look forward to watching you react to the guys 😊

Every voice you heard is Geoff.
He is an extremely talented artist. He clones himself 3-4 times for harmonies. Each with their own name.... Jeff, Jeoph, Goff and Daryl. They appear in most of his videos.
He has a 5+ octave range. Going super high and super low. He lives in Orlando Florida.
He is the bass singer for the acapella group Voiceplay. Both have tons of amazingly awesome videos to choose from.
They and Geoff are independent so they do everything themselves except intricate make-up, cameras and audio mixing. All decisions are made by them. Their only income for paying for their videos is their Patreons. Which I'm proud to say I'm a member of both.
He released his new video last Friday... "Wicked Game". It is absolutely beautiful
Voiceplay will release theirs this Friday, the 16th. It is out of this world fantastic.
    My favorites....
Geoff..... Rains of Castemere. Ghost Riders In The Sky. I See Fire. Jack's Lament.
Voiceplay.... Kidnap The Sandy Claws. The Lion Sleeps Tonight. Dragonborn Comes Skyrim. Halo Theme.
Voiceplay are known as both The Theater Kids of Acapella and The Kings of Halloween because of their love of dressing up and performing. They're in Orlando Florida and all have performed at Universal Studios, Disney World or both.
At present there are only 4 members in Voiceplay so they collaborate with various artists for the 5th. So depending on video and date is who is in them. But you will always see Geoff Castellucci, Layne Stein and Eli (like jelly) Jacobson.

I really hope you do react to some Josh Turner! He's one of my VERY favorite singers, ever!
As for Geoff, I love him a lot, too. I don't care much for Voice Play, but I love the stuff that Geoff does on his own.
Both he and Dan Vasc do "I See Fire." (Ed Sheeran) It would be fun if you would react to them both. They are quite different, but both excellent.
One of my favorite Geoff songs is "Big Bad John." Another is "Sixteen Tons." I hope you'll check them out.
By the way, he and Tim Foust are good friends. Oh, and yes...he sings all the parts...just wait...once you start digging into his channel, you'll find that he does a LOT of stuff similarly to what Dan Vasc does, and simply creates his own "choir," whether seen or unseen. One of the things he does, though, that Dan does NOT usually do, is that he has special costumes a lot of times.
GREAT reaction. Thank you very much! 😀

Yes, Geoff does all the vocal work on his solo channel. This one is more unusual where we only see one Geoff. Normally he has three to four (up to 6 on FolsomPrison) Clones singing with him.
This is a beautiful song and Geoff does just an amazing job. One of the best ways I've heard the various versions described is:
    The Original is the warning
Disturbed's is the anger for not heading the warning
Geoff's is the sadness/sorrow from not heading the warning, but there is still a slight hint of hope if you can find it
Thanks for the reaction, a few song that I enjoy are Far Over the Misty Mountains Cold and I See Fire (both from the Hobbit Movies); Ghost Riders in the Sky, and Way Down, plus many many more.

I see that others have already answered your questions, so I just want to cast my vote for more Geoff and the acapella group he is part of, Voiceplay! I highly recommend going to either one of their pages and just scrolling through their library and choosing songs that stand out to you, as the most entertaining reactions are often the ones where you have a connection to the original work. Welcome to the rabbit hole!

Yes, every voice on this video is his. They say he has a 5-octave range. So, many of his videos are layered with that range. And, sometimes he includes other Geoffs to enhance the visibility of those layers. Other song covers you may like to listen to would be; Take me home Country Roads, Folsom Prison Blues, Big Bad John, Ghost Riders in the Sky, Sixteen Tons, and Man of Constant Sorrow. He is so very talented. He does everything related to the production of his videos. He also shares in that responsibility when he sings with an a cappella group called Voice Play. Enjoy!

Geoff is the bass singer for the Acapella group VoicePlay. He does all the vocals here himself. He usually multiplies himself into up to 4 other singers. He and his wife, Kathy do the life's share of the arrangements, etc for his solo songs. I would suggest his covers of Ain't No Sunshine, House of the Rising Sun, and 16 Tons. Pretty much anything by VoicePlay is worth the listen. They are also known as the Theater Kids of A cappella, as they have covered a lot of Disney songs.

  • @Badger77722
    @Badger77722 8 месяцев назад +1

As others have said, all of the vocals are Geoff. Usually when he layers his vocals you'll see different versions of Geoff singing the different parts - this song was an exception to that, although not the only exception. While sometimes Geoff's other versions (Geoffettes, Geoff-tones, clones) are just dressed casually, sometimes Geoff follows the VoicePlay tradition of going full musical-theater mode and dresses in costumes, makeup, etc.
Since you mentioned country music, I'd recommend Take Me Home Country Road, Folsom Prison Blues, Ghost Rider In the Sky, Shenandoah. For full costume versions of the clones, check out Far Over the Misty Mountains Cold, I See Fire (both are songs from the recent Hobbit movies), Monster Mash, Way Down.

  • @arnonyhm4055

Geoff does all singing parts by himself. In a lot of his videos he appears in multiple "persons", sometimes it's even hard to detect that it's the same person, not only because of his incredible range, but also because of amazing disguises (e.g. as four dwarfs in: Far over the Misty Mountains cold & I see fire).
My personal favorites of his videos are:
    Ghostriders in the Sky (funny)
    ruclips.net/video/y5qZrrovpuw/видео.html
    Monster Mash (funny)
    ruclips.net/video/12Sg9efb0hc/видео.html

    Sixteen Tons (catchy)
    ruclips.net/video/fzlT80jQ3lo/видео.html
    Headless Horseman (funny)
    ruclips.net/video/8rrg0ksSQdw/видео.html
Far over the Misty Mountains cold | LotR Hobbit
    ruclips.net/video/Erkv1-_xR7U/видео.html
I see fire | LotR Hobbit
    ruclips.net/video/-b0HSW3CN9E/видео.html
    Big Bad John
    ruclips.net/video/fdBBM_d3jlc/видео.html
Sound of Silence (showcasing Geoff's range)
    ruclips.net/video/lyekSI_4Qlc/видео.html
Jack's Lament | The Nightmare before Christmas
    ruclips.net/video/TLvtw4nXou0/видео.html
Geoff is also part of an amazing acapella group VoicePlay. If you are interested in seeing them too, I would suggest to start with:
OOGIE BOOGIE'S SONG | The Nightmare Before Christmas
    ruclips.net/video/EbxkOntz2SA/видео.html
Valhalla Calling | Miracle Of Sound
    ruclips.net/video/mI8hPSSZSL4/видео.html
In any of his or VoicePlay's videos, you at least will experience one or more so called "Geoff quakes". 😉

I see that someone has already mentioned the fact that he is part of the group VoicePlay, which he was a founding member of, along with some guys that he had known from way back in middle school choir. He and the beatboxer of the group, Layne, have have usually done all of the arranging for the group, but another one of their members is starting to contribute more arrangements. Geoff does the arranging for his solo work as well, which while sometimes being rather stripped down accompaniment, is not a cappella, as he says that's the whole point of branching out and doing solo work is to do something he isn't doing as part of the VoicePlay group. Quite a few of his covers are of country songs, such as Ghost riders in the sky, Folsom prison blues, and 16 tons, and he is a big admirer of Thurl Ravenscroft and The great bass guy, JD Sumner, who appeared on quite a few Elvis songs.
