    Hello, my fiance is an aspiring procreate artist and I'm doing some research for her and this video has been really helpful. She likes to draw watercolor art and pencil sketches. One question, would you recommend printing straight from procreate or should we touch it up on Photoshop? Thank you very much!

    • @SandraEide
      @SandraEide  4 года назад +3

      Hello Arden, I apologize for my late reply. If she is creating in Procreate at 300 dpi then most likely the quality will be good enough that she will not have to touch it up in photoshop. Or if needed she can adjust the contrast, levels, hue/saturation in procreate. (: I do recommend printing before selling to see the quality. So print from procreate and see if adjustments need to be made.

    I’ve been wondering, whenever i make the specific size for my printables in Procreate, for example, size 4x6, will the costumers be able to print it without having problems? I mean, will the size 4x6 wont change when they go ahead and print it?

    Thank you for this video! Love the little girl art work. May I ask as what file type you export your drawings as? Will a PDF or PNG print higher quality than if it's exported from Procreate as a JPG?

    • @SandraEide
      @SandraEide  2 года назад +4

      Hi! I'm so sorry I didn't see this message for so long. I usually export as a JPEG. As long as it's atleast 300 dpi then it should still remain high quality in whichever file type you need. I use PNG for transparent backgrounds (:

    how about file to send in etsy? i mean when i create some illustration on procreate and then i just send to etsy thats all? or any size specific to upload in etsy ? thank you , hope you rep 🤙🏻

    • @SandraEide
      @SandraEide  4 года назад +4

      Hi, thanks for your question. It all depends on what you are selling. Check out some etsy shops and see what you like and what you want to create, you'll see common sizes that are popular to sell such as 8x10 inches. Then create that size in procreate. Make sure you create at high resolution 300 dpi and send in the file format you would like to sell such as JPEG. You have to do some research to make sure you are meeting expectations of the customer for each product (:

      @SandraEide  4 года назад +1

      Yes it can be! Make sure you are creating your art at high resolution. I recommend 300 dpi for most printables (:

    • @srabonigoswami3385
      @srabonigoswami3385 4 года назад +1

      Absolutely you can create great printing, you need to set up your canvas before you create a art. When you go for high resolution and big canvas size, you need to work with less layers, so if you use the selection tool masterly, you can really produce high quality printable art work in procreate.

    • @genniegidney
      @genniegidney 2 года назад

      @@srabonigoswami3385 since you can copy paste from one canvas to another in procreate, you could probably even create a multi layer design in a lower quality canvas and then copy paste it in the high quality canvas as one layer and be fine. I haven’t tried this yet as Im having iPad tech issues but I also only do small files and have used canva to resize my art to whatever I need. I want to start with just procreate now that I know you can print them in the same size as your canvas is.

    What type of iPad do you use for creating your designs on Procreate? I was told that I will need an 12.9 iPad Pro to make digital clipart for Bible study printables.

    • @SandraEide
      @SandraEide  2 года назад +1

      Hi, I use a 12.9 inch Ipad Pro now. But prior to that I used a regular 9.7 inch Ipad and did professional work with that with minor issues being file size and layer restrictions. You don't need the pro version but it does help my workflow.

    Have you felt like designing in a raster program has limited what you can do? I feel like there's a lot of pressure to have vector art so it can be resized easily. I know how to move artwork into Illustrator to vectorize it, but obviously, that adds extra work and sometimes it just isn't the same that way (ya know!?) What type of project would you not recommend because of the raster limitation? Thanks so much for sharing what you do!
