Enabling IoT or 2.4G in your Verizon router so it'll work with your devices

  • Why can’t I connect my device to my WiFi network. Maybe you need to reconfigure your router.
    Most new routers are dual band and selectable by default.
    If for some reason, the IoT (Internet of Things) is not enabled in the wifi settings, then you won't be able to use your IoT or 2.4G devices.
    Some newer routers won't even say 5G and 2.4G, instead it'll have them as Primary and IoT.
    If you have Verizon router, the easiest way to enable 2.4 or IoT is to use the My Fios app to change the settings.
    After enabling both bands, you will see a new network name that is the same as your primary one, except it has IoT at the end of the name of the network.
    You can of course log into your router to change the settings as well. The back of your router has info on how to log into your router.
