    All this technology that's supposed to make life easier. Routers provide the luxury of two simultaneous bands. And then some smartass home device dev can't figure out how to navigate between between both and forces us into the headache of going all the way down the fault tree and disabling the 5 Ghz channel. Unreal just how backward that is. THANK YOU for your help!!! It saved what sanity I have left, for the day.

      This!! I paid $5k on a range and can’t use 50% of its functions because they all require WiFi and an app that NEVER connects! Why I can’t just use all functions manually, I have no idea! They make our lives harder and over complicated for NO reason!

      Sky q box.. keeps dropping out finally now I've realized why those pesky gigahertz never realized less is more then....my phone comes my tablet comes but not sky q forever dropping out drives me nuts so I either find someone that can reset the router who knows about such things or live with it and say ok I really don't care..sky...you really suck u know the issues here but your agents don't give a dam and get u hard resetting losing your recordings and guess what it's a disaster...turn off turn in redo password get a headache run away😮😮😮

    Well, I am not sure why every channel I watch says after set up of your smart device you can switch back to 5ghz, however, after I set up my cameras with 2.4ghz, all set right? NO, my devices kept saying "offline" , and I had to switch again!! Going CRAZY!!

    Quick question, if my doorbell is on 2.4, but my phone is on 5g and I'm using the app on my phone. Will it work? Or I'll have to connect my phone to 2.4 to control the doorbell on the app?

    Hi thanks for this information, so I've now sorted on how to turn off the 5hz and I've set up my smart devices and are all working great. So do I turn the 5ghz back on so the router is now 2.4ghz and 5ghz or should I completely disable the 5ghz ?

    • @MrKillerno1
      @MrKillerno1 Год назад +3

      @@heatherlundie4099 Do not follow his instructions, he has it all wrong. Normally smart devices are connecting at 2.4 because of the way signal goes through walls wheras 5 Ghz is more fragile through walls. Manufacturers know this and so they only make(made) 2.4 Ghz devices. If there are smart devices that can operate at 5 Ghz, they can also connect at 2.4 Ghz. With this info, all smart devices should reconnect at some point to the network, that is what they are designed to do.
      Use the webpage that is directly connected to your modem to make adjustments, not with an app. If you want to start with troubles, use your smartphone and sit on mount Everest and adjust your settings from there, see how that works for you.
      Always connect as direct as possible to your modem, nothing else.
      If you still have problems connecting smart devices? ruclips.net/video/Vntse_KiO-E/видео.html
      That man tells how it works, just like I said in my reaction above.

      Dude, I’ve had it! I’ve watched over 20 videos, tried every trick and tip, walked inside and outside, half way down my road to get my router to switch from 5 to 2.4. Can’t connect any of the bulbs I bought or the camera I bought. I can’t find any of the receipts. So I’m about to go mad trying to find the damn receipts so I can return them or I’m going to smash over $100 worth of “ smart “ crap. Because I’ve just about had it!
