Spiffing video as usual Sir! Another UK town added to the list! I missed seeing a BAB parade! Specially The Brass, always a lovely difference in sound to hear those Cornets doing the Clarinets job! Interesting to see a Rifles Trombonist on loan, they usually do this in reserve Bands, not full Bands. Usually they get another stand-in from another BAB, although with the ongoing shuffles that's bound to be slightly difficult. The Drum Major leading, Sgt Bates. Used to be the Drum Major for the Army Air Corps Band, when that was still a thing. Many Thanks for bringing us this Wonderful Parade!
@@delvinrodriguez3341 Nice sound -somehow, to me at least. an army brass band sounds different to civilian one - can't really say why but I still prefer with reeds - marches are same old selection - good video though
In reference to what Delvin mentioned about the drum major here's a video with him leading the AAC Band. (Army Air Corps) ruclips.net/video/uDLgzlUnzEc/видео.htmlsi=u-30-6ZhftTj74UF
Hi MBE, and many thanks for an excellent, enjoyable and informative video. For those with an interest in the players and instruments, that's a nice little illustration at 04:14 of what an E-flat tenor horn (sometimes referred to as an "alto horn" in the USA I believe) sounds like! It's also, as Delvin has already commented, interesting to see a bass trombone from the Band of The Rifles standing in. With the amount of appearances (including at both Windsor and at Buckingham Palace) the Band of The Rifles have already been putting in over the last few weeks, one really has to admire the stamina! This is one of only 2 (I think?) British Army bands that use "brass band" instrumentation, with no woodwind or "reed" instruments (clarinets, piccolos, saxophones, etc etc) at all and also no French Horns.
Hello Mike! Hope you're keeping well! Yes, here in the USA they do call it an Alto Horn, which I've always refrained from calling it that. the same thing with the use of "Baritone", no it's an "Euphonium"!!!! I find it annoying! Lol. Yes, this is one of two British Army Brass Bands, the other being BAB Catterick. The only thing missing today was the Soprano (Eb) Cornet, if there is one it isn't giving its full potential.
Hi@@delvinrodriguez3341 , yes, keeping well, but very tired! The reason I questioned myself about the number of British Army Brass Bands was because, of course, there have been recent "rationalisations" (eg Band of the King's Division) down from certainly 3 and maybe possibly more. I wondered about the Soprano Cornet - I couldn't immediately see one and certainly couldn't immediately hear the "edge" to the sound, but to be absolutely sure I'll have to watch/listen in more detail.
Hi Mike, thanks for the kind comment, I’m glad you enjoyed! There are indeed 2 regular army brass bands still in existence; British Army Band Tidworth and Catterick. However, long before any regular army brass band was formed the Regimental Band and Corps of Drums of the Royal Welsh has always been an army reserve brass band so you could argue there are still 3!! There is also the Band of the Prince of Wales who are a regular army band, but are not of full brass band size, with a stretch of only a brass 10 piece.
May have been brought in because they were short a trombone or he may have been recently posted in & is waiting for a Uniform &/or tailoring....he is Rifles Regt
I hope to come to England one day and make just as beautiful a recording of an English Military band for my RUclips channel as yours....greetings Peter🎵 🎶 🎵
Great band great music. Delighted that they lead with the USA march “Washington Grays” hello from the USA🇺🇸
That one Rifles trombonist: "Shit! I got assigned to the wrong band..."
General Mitchell what a march and what a sound. Love the tuba and trombone sound

Hi again@@MilitaryBandsEverywhere , and thanks for the extra information on the bands.
10:26 Why does a tuba player want to continue the song, even though the song is about to finish😄
great video!
Many thanks Mike!
Watching their rear flank
Why is the bass trombone in a completely different uniform?

Not the same tonal sound as a Military band with the woodwind!
Somehow I can't accept a brass band as a Military Band
I'm sure you'll get over it.
You can’t beat a brass band
thanks for the nice video👍 greeting from the Dutch🎵🎶🎵RUclips Marching Band Channel: muziekkorpsen - marching bands
