Thank you for the recommendations on cleaning products, as well as the explanation of what pH neutral means/does. I never heard any of that before. Looking forward to trying this on my new floor!
Tip #1 should be: "Don't wear outdoor footwear in your home. It's a filthy habit, and ruins all types of flooring."
I use a wet cloth Swiffer. I like knowing that the cloth is clean each time. I like the lavender scent. Been using for 10 years without residue plus I use a dry cloth Swiffer afterwards to buff.

I have never used any cleaner on my LVP flooring, as was suggested to me...and they are still beautiful. I dustmop them and then use plain water and a microfiber 18" mop, rinsing it often during use.
What color did you get? I'm trying to decide

Thank you for posting this video on LVP! You suggested the best product, and gave the BEST advice on why to rise the microfiber pads after they get dirty! Massive difference in how clean the floors became! We’ve had 20 mm LVP for two years, and I’ve tried or made every cleaning product and concoction possible. I bought the zep neutral ph, and followed your directions in the video, and copying the spray bottle dilution. I’ll be cleaning our floors like this from now on 😊 Thanks again! Today I did a super deep cleaning, finally had ZERO streaks, and today our floors look as good as the day they were installed!

Same here! I had the same experience as you. Purchased all the items that Brandon recommended last week and just cleaned the floor last night for the first time and the floors came out amazing. I've also tried so many things for the LVP that failed until I found Brandon's channel! ❤

I am glad I found this video. I want to keep my new LVP floors looking good . I bought a steam mop. Used it once. Glad I saw this before I did it again.Also need to get rid of the Bona and get the cleaners you showed. Also need a few more mopping pads.

Great info - thanks! We're receiving our in-laws for a few weeks, so this couldn't be better timing! Time to get to work! Lol
We were told to never use a vacuum cleaner on this type of flooring because it will scratch and cause damage to the floor. We use the Swiffer dry mop that will pick up the dirt debris, dog hair, etc. You just throw away the white mop soft pad, then you can clean the flooring. We were told to only use warm to hot water with the mopping system and it works. The flooring dries quickly and it comes out clean. The water when disposed of is dirty. No waxing of any type is to be done to this type of flooring.

Even with no-rinse stuff, i always go over it with a clean mop to rinse. It really picks up a ton of extra dirt and makes floors shinier.

As always, I love your videos and how sometimes the simplest tip is one I've never thought of! I've never thought to rinse my flat mop head during cleaning like I would a traditional mop, I just swap them out. 😆

Betco does make a wax specifically for LVP, but in general it's best not to put down mop n glo or other cheap acrylic polishes.

Been using a corded Bissel Crosswave for deep cleaning our LVP floors, do you recommend this?
Seems to be helpful if I’ve missed any bits of cat hair and crumbs as evidenced by what’s in the tank afterwards.

Buys a steam mop that came with new shark vacuum: Well.. damn.
Sees the exact vinyl floor cleaner I have for floors at end of video with him shaking his finger no: well double damn.
If it makes you feel better, I think he was advising against wax or polish with that brand of floor product and not necessarily that brand's floor *cleaner*.

If a cleaner’s ph is not ‘highlighted’ in its name or on the label, what should I look for (ingredients ?) in a lvp cleaner?
Can you recommend another cleaner? Zep and Ecolab only come in gallon containers and I don’t have the room to store either.
I was told by the builder to use Bona for LV floors. Have you used this and would you recommend it?
I'm a monster and I used a saturated mop when I first moved into my house with LVP. It took me a few weeks to figure out why it was chipping 😢

What machine can we use to get a deeper clean on LVP? i have the engineered wood texture you mentioned ( from construction) and there are sreaks on my floor tha I think were debris from the construction.
You can clean all you want but if that part of your house has heavy traffic n people don’t take off their shoes you really can’t avoid build up.
As restrictive as it sounds a rug helps out there
Do you know how uncomfortable and cold it is to have to take your shoes off while visiting others? I’m not talking about muddy shoes. It makes me not want to visit!
Shoe covers may help prevent that, if removing shoes is a problem.

Great tips! How would you deep clean a LVP floor? I moved into my home a couple years ago and as far as I know the floor has been vacuumed and mopped with the swifter wet jet for like 7 years now. It definitely doesn't feel clean and always seems sticky after mopping so I am wondering if I need to do a deep clean and perhaps strip off a layer of gunk safely some how. Any advice would be appreciated!

What is the brand mop that you used? We're trying to figure out what we want to buy. I'd like what you had that we can rinse and reuse during the cleaning. The swifter not only will become expensive buying all the pads but you can't keep rinsing it.

What about windex ?? I just had a visitor from a business leave a salty puddle on my floor … I just tried a little rubbing alcohol and a little Mrs Meyers All purpose cleaner ?with a string damp mop .

Appreciate the tip on the neutral floor cleaner, another tip for keeping your floors in great shape, DO NOT wear shoes in the house, buy a cozy pair of slippers instead, and please don’t wear them to get the mail!

Hi! I used the polish/wax on the my vinyl and it’s all streaks and can’t take it off. It looks horrible with all the traffic. How do I remove it little by little to get it to its original?
I see that Rejuvenate is not recommended by you for LVP flooring. But the manufacturer of my floor recommended that as the product to use. Am I better off with the products you are recommending?

Ive been using a vinegar, dish soap dilution on my vinyl (its not luxe). Should i switch to Zep?
That works for vinyl! I would just make sure to use very little dish soap because it super concentrated and it could cause a build up over time. It might be nice to try the zero and see how you like it.🙂
Do you have any suggestions on how to remove small amounts of latex paint from LVP?
Had this happen to me. For drops of paint, I used a plastic razor. For the streaks of paint, I used Krud kutter.
Would you recommend using swiffer pads on lvp?

I have a vinyl floor. Steamer said wouldn’t hurt. Had used for years. I learned too late. I have never waxed the floor. Can it be fixed or is it too late. I leave foot prints and smears when I walk after it dries. Never looks good.

I have LVP with the grain texture on my upper level and engineered hardwood on the lower level. Should I be using separate floor cleaners?
A neutral pH floor cleaner will work great for both. Engineered hardwood may be a little more sensitive to water so I would try running a dry microfiber flatmop over the area you have finished cleaning to make sure water isn't sitting on the surface.

What do you use on scratches on the floor?
I just saw your question as I was scrolling through the comments on this video and I might have an answer for you if you still need it. Our builders scratched our LVP floor and we sprayed some WD-40 and used a soft cloth/paper towel to rub it over the scratch. It actually worked really well.

I was told to turn rotary brush off in vacuum when cleaning vinyl plank,because over time it can scratch it.
It can depend on the type of brush. Most stick vacuums have a soft brush that won’t damage the floor. Also make sure to pick up large debris rather than trying to vacuum up.
Hi. What’s the best way to get the construction mud debris from these floors? I’ve tried mopping several times and still have marks. :(

I have 4 rescue furbabies who occasionally pee on same area of floor. It's built up a white sticky stain. I've tried everything, including ZEP, nothing gets floor clean.
What about using a solution of 50-50% white vinegar and water….works for me and a friend who suggested it to me…
