"your hair will fall off, you will look like me" HAHAH
HE SAID THAT AS I READ THE COMMENT AHHH
😂😂😂😂😂
id like to think he's bleached his hair so many times and is knowledgeable that he has no more hair
😳
😂😂😅
This is the first bleaching video where there's an actual explanation as to why you do a procedure a certain way. It's so rich in information, and I'm super grateful. I've bleached my hair before following other content creators always with bad results, but my hair came out perfect this time without having to go back and fix anything.
I got nothing from this

28:55 Toner can't help orange pigments.
29:20 Toner also will not lighten hair further. It is for "toning your level." If you are on a level 8, you can tone on a level 8, not a 10.
29:45 Use toner with 10 volume mAX. Some brands offer combos where it comes with the toner and the developer.
30:30 You cannot dilute 20/30 to 10 volume etc.
31:00 purple shampoo is not toner.

"Bleaching and colouring your hair is very difficult and we go to school for many years to ...." I love the patience you have to speak to me like I am a reasonable person and not a broken woman in my bathroom at 3AM. God himself could not move the mountain of will I have for bleaching my hair in this moment.
Oh how I can relate to this many times over! 😂
I sweearrrr 🤣 Best comment!!
I've watched atleast 55 videos start to end in order to master my vision. There's no turning back..
I like how this guy is informative and not condescending
Yeah, he’s the best! 💙
Me 2! I feel like I'm in a college class !
Good thing I’m not doing these videos. It would be so hard not to be snarky.🤣
I'm sure that's cause he's Dutch 😉👍👌🏾
Got it ❤30 volume with the bleach, 30 min timer, plenty of product + small sections, dividend head section or quad. Length first and root last with 10 volume. Keep bleach moist, check color. Toner 10 volume. No comb or hot water( porous) or no cold water. Purple shampoo is not a toner. Stay inside of the same room with the right temperature. No brow bleaching.😊 thanks for the class. I was looking for days for a video like this.
You dedicated most of your life studying hair just to teach other people some very important tips for free. I love it. Thank you for existing. 💕
From one teacher to another, you are excellent at explaining and not being condescending. I think we’re all learning a lot of great lessons from you. Thank you!
thank you so much
Are you able to help me understand this a little better please? So do my back first and rinse it out and then do my sides let it set to color I'm looking for and then rinse the sides out?
Then apply my toner?
@@libragal815 no. Just start putting the bleach on the back lengths only first. Move to one side do those lengths. Other side. Do your middle section last. Gently rinse well, shampoo gently, do not scrub your scalp *as a matter of fact, do not agitate or brush your scalp a few days before you bleach. It will itch/burn more than you thought possible. Let dry. (Colors will look different when dry) apply bleach to regrowth area... DO NOT OVER LAP bleach onto already bleached lengths *this will guarantee breakage* rinse/shampoo/dry as before. If color is ok and doesn't need another bleaching, then tone . Look at a color wheel before you tone. What cancels what etc. Also**** when it's time yo bleach your regrowth, do not wait 2 months to do so. The sooner you bleach regrowth (Remember do not overlap onto previous bleached hair-- I keep saying that because it's SO important lol. The sooner you bleach regrowth, the less time it will take to process and the less damage you will have!! The heat from your scalp will make it lightning fast. Once you see your hair (the 1st regrowth bleaching) getting to the light orangeish-yellow stage, check it every couple minutes!! Do not use a towel to check progress and rough the hair up... be very gentle with it. Bleached hair is beyond fragine. Be prepared to spend $$ on hair care.... k18 and/or olaplex are a must!!! Do not put suave or Pantene on bleached hair. Don't
What about using a hair dryer to heat the hair? ...I assume this drys the hair out as bleaching ....in this case that's why my husband fd up my hair...possibly early sabotage??? 😮
As a science teacher, I'd love to see a video about coloring your hair darker, the difference between semi permanent vs permanent colors and the science of color pigmentation (depositing pigment as opposed to removing pigment)!
Semi and demi permanent do not lift the cuticle of the hair. Permanent does and deposits the color there. Also, 10 developer doesn't lift the cuticle. All the others do. There...the short version
@@penelope-oe2vr Thanks, but a video showing this would help us non-science folks.
@@Beatles0223 it would but you won't find it. I'm a visual person myself too.
Bleaching correctly is so important to me, when I was a baby my mum used to have her hair bleached regularly, but instead of just bleaching the roots the hairdresser used to do the roots and the mid lengths & ends which were already peroxide white, then dried it in with a hairdryer. The worst possible thing! My mum lost her hair and now has very very fine hair she’s insecure about. Fast forward 18 years & now I’m a hairdresser I feel it’s my duty to learn as much as possible about hair loss, scalp training etc. I wanna make her and anyone who feels the same as my mum to feel amazing & confident again 🤍
Thank you for your video! 🤍🤍 🎨
You're a beautiful person! Never forget that 💙
@@hellurmoto3163 you’ve made my day. Thank you 🤍
But can bleach even condition how thin or thick or voluminous hair will grow the rest of our lives? I thought it just damaged our already existing hair and then as it grows the new hair is as healthy as our pre-bleached hair
@@imb5128 I'm wondering if, given that stylist's recklessness, she actually damaged her scalp, too, and did affect the regrowth.
Omg i have questions. Help. Please.
10 volume lift 1 volume or go darker, 20 volume lift 1-2 volume, 30 volume lift 2-3 volumes.
You can use lightning cream or bleach. The lighting cream is less harmful for your scalp.
Browns go to red, dark blonde to orange and blonde to yellow.
Bleach your lengths first then you apply it on our roots, your roots are going to bleach faster than the length, so when your lenghts are on the point that you want, bleach your roots.
Don't wash your hair before bleaching and don't put oil before it too.
Wear gloves and read the instructions. Section your hair, 4 parts is ok but try to part the front too, and in each section separate them in 2.
Apply it on dry hair. Work fast, mix then apply.
The timer part i did not understood...
Take thin sections of hair and apply the bleach, if it's too thick it's found to be patchy.
If you use a bag in your head check every ten minutes if it's not too warm, if it's spray some water on it. Also check the color and the strength of your hair if it's pulling too much rinse it off.
It's better if you do a less volume leave for 30 minutes and if you need more, 30 minutes again.
Don't comb your hair! Your hair is very fragile so don't comb it. Don't go outside, if you're bleaching your hair in a room make sure you can stay there for the whole process.
Watch out for your eyes, bleach can cause permanent damage so if possible rinse your hair backwards, like in a salon. Don't use too hot or too cold water, your pores are going to close/open too fast that's not good, use lukewarm water.
Be gentle with the shampoo, it's going to take longer but your going to have a better result.
Do I have to use toner? Yes. Without it your hair will look ugly. The toner will not fix your orange hair or lighten your hair.
for toner: MAXIMUM 10 vol.
You cannot delute the 20 or 30 toner with water. Purple shampoo it's not a toner.
10 vol with a toner will not do anything
@@liss7649 good to know!! :]]
Thank you
@@liss7649 what??? You're supposed to use 10 because it just deposits the color. If you use 20 or 30, its going to lift it more
PURPLE SHAMPOO IS NOT A TONER! 😆

Ummm....that 6 week undercover bleach job which never ever needed to take that long was done by a “professional”, See all of the press articles.
There was also a lot of breakage which is why a full haircut had to happen (hair loaded with extensions in after photos/video if you know what to look for). A few weeks later, previous black areas started fading yellow, very slight hint orange after a few shampoos. True seasoned professionals go black to blond in one appointment. My friend did it in cosmetology school over 20 years ago. She knows how to do that.
We all know celebrities spend a lot of money to look the way they do, but that was kinda the joke - spend hundreds / thousands at a salon but the end result comes out looking like a DIY dye job...
But that hair was a mess... Admit it ...
Did you guys know that hairdressers are required to have more schooling/training than police officers? (In USA). Nuts!
Are you ready to play?
“Are you smarter than a hairdresser?!”
that honestly just depends. I know hairdressers that only needed 1 semester before getting a certification and police officers who needed a college degree. In areas where there aren't enough people applying to be police officers, they have to lower the requirements. Also, there's the police academy which you have to attend (except in a few situations like prior military experience) which can last 3 - 6 months (sometimes longer). On top of that, you have to get recertifications from CLEET every year so..I mean no, police officers are trained longer, even if they take you with just a high school diploma.
@Leah Watts I didnt want to argue or anything like that, but I felt obligated to say that you can look up the average time spent at police academies in the United States and it says 18 to 30 weeks.
@Leah Watts It also could be that the 2 weeks are the "boot camp" period. Once that's over its a lot of classroom time as well as PT and hands on training.
@Leah Watts Let me know what you find, im pretty curious myself 😂
I love that, even with all this generous, well explained, easy to obtain information, we’ll still keep on seeing videos of people ruining their hair LOL
I'm a hairdresser and RUclips just suggested his video.
I have to say, he is correct! Please listen. He explains the very technicality of hair so well. Rewind and listen again if you don't understand. I educate my clients like this and they are always so intrigued. 💜
Im just about to beach my hair just seen ur a hairdresser i am planing on going a light copper so after bleaching would I still need to tone or can I just go in with the colour! Would be great full for ur help. My hair is natural dark orange atm
No matter what the topic is, I love watching an expert explain their craft in detail. Not just how but why. So often shortcuts are made because people don't understand WHY it's not a good idea.
Totally agree
i just got back home after buying everything i would need to bleach my hair, and am very excited to do so later this week. i’ve been searching all day for a good informative video on bleaching at home and finally found it! thank you so much for this, it’s by far the best hair bleaching video on this site. i feel much more prepared now :))

This is such a comprehensive and helpful video - I can't believe you're allowing us to watch it for free! Thank you!! ❤️
So helpful, thank you. I bleached to get white and so glad I watched your video. No one told me to use 10 developers or less to use toner. So, I'll let my hair rest tonight and tone it tomorrow with the correct products. Also, no one said to rinse in 30 min and then reapply. Life saver. Thank you again!
"You will look like me"
But you are looking good! Maybe i want to look like you, i just can't grow me a beard
I've been bleaching my own hair for almost 2 years now and I've learned a lot of these tips the hard way, but now I've got a pretty good routine
First of all, hats off to this guy for taking time to educate us people that are not professionals, not many do this. I have made so many mistakes highlighting my medium brown hair but I learned what not to do and what worked over the years. This guy knows his stuff and I wish he had of been around 15 years ago. 😂 It's simple to listen and learn, he tells you what to do and with all this new technology such as youtube, I don't understand why so many girls are doing this at home and not looking this guy up first before they do it. He will save you a lot of money and tears. 😂❤
“Purple shampoo is not a toner”lol. Love this video, loaded with great information
Thx
There is so much purple shampoo being washed down the drain and waisted because of this toner myth. I wonder if the purple shampoo manufacturers created this fable🤔🙄$$$$$$
I love Hair Buddha's hair tip videos. I've already binged and watched so many.
I really enjoy his personality but mostly I appreciate how thorough his explanations are and I so love that he is very straight forward, no frills, just great helpful information.
Hair Buddha, you are a wonderful teacher. Thank you for your tips. Please don't stop your tip video series 💜💜💜
amen to that ... totally agree we are lucky to have found him.
I have watched so many Brad Mondo videos on bleaching hair, and some of Dana's videos and Guy Tang, and with their advice, I think I did a decent job...but my boyfriend bleached it the first time and I tried showing him the videos and he was very confused. Now, I'm sure if I'd shown him this video, he would have had all the information he needed to do it right the first time!! Thank you for this incredibly comprehensive and easy-to-follow theory and tutorial.
I like how he explains the science of bleach/color processing as well as giving us the bare bones of the steps involved.
He cares that if we do things ourselves that we have the knowledge necessary to do it right.
This is his way of making life better for ppl. ❤❤❤❤ hair buddah.
I love the fact that you are so passionate. The fact that you have given us an educational tutorial is priceless. Thank you
this is the best video I have seen about bleaching, thank you.
thx for watching
You dear man! You are so sweet and kind to explain this to the women who want to do a home bleach. I am 71, and have decided, since we’ve been sheltering in place for 6 months now here in California, to have my stylist cut my baby fine hair in a pixie cut and to stop coloring it, which I’ve done since I was 16! I was going to have her put some very minimal teal and pink highlights in when it gets gray or silver enough, but I’m not sure my fine, aging hair can take the bleach necessary to do so. Thank you for your videos. I’m loving watching them. 💞
Thx for watching ♥️ .
I had virgin afro hair and wanted an platinum afro, didn’t know it was that complicated 🤣 your video will help for my roots
I learned so much from your tips that I had the most amazing home hair dye experience ever! Thank you thank you!!! Went from long mousy brown with grey to gorgeous auburn color and cutting my dead ends. We're in lockdown and I was terrified of doing my very long hair myself. So I did the following of your tips which I never did before: Small SECTIONS (haha...) while coloring and cutting. Good haircutting scissors, and I only cut off very little at a time until I was happy with the length and everything was even. Dyed with a brush, checked the color every few minutes and did my roots in the very last 5 minutes. Also washed off the back section 10 minutes earlier, because I timed it seperately. Took me many hours because I was careful, but I am ecstatic with the difference all your tips made.
Must say, I was just surprised that my roots still was a bit brighter even though it was on for just 5 minutes, never knew how quickly it takes on pigment. Anyway thanks a lot. Can you maybe do a tips video on coloring darker hair to another dark color as well?
First: NO! I DON'T USE QUICK BLUE! I like what my hair does with bleach. It becomes a BEAUTIFUL copper shade. I did a fall-like streak in my hair. Slowly did bleach from tip up over 30 minutes. Ended up with a very pretty brown to caramel ombre.
Color theory, gotta love this... people will still melt their hair.
I've watched so many videos trying to understand this. But FINALLY, someone who has explained it so I can ACTUALLY UNDERSTAND it!!! Thank you SO MUCH 🙂
Absolutely brilliant!!! I've just watched a dozen videos by different girls on how to bleach hair. They made no sense and overwhelmed me with all the products they use and...coconut oil. Understanding the chemical reactions helps me to understand the process. Thank you so much.
This is the first video I've seen of yours. I love your method of explaining things. You are very thorough. You would be a great teacher. I would love more videos like this one. Thank you!
i've been dying, bleaching and cutting my own hair for maybe 15 years now, but i still love watching videos like this just to pick up tips and tricks, see if i was wrong about something etc :)
I made it through the entire video, and I love the results of lightening bleach came out in my hair. I've watched so many videos, you explained it very well and understandable. Love how you emphasis and repeat important information to Post-it in our brains. Very straight forward,. Thank you
thank you
I just found you yesterday. This video helped me 100%. I went from medium brown hair to the light/pale yellow hair that I needed to tone. Sectioning and bleach time were perfect for me. Thank you so much and I really enjoy your videos. ❤️
Hair Buddha, thank you so much for this! I am a lady of 57 who is growing her very fine, very dark hair with about 5% gray. It seemed a very good idea to go to the salon in December 2019 in hope of becoming a platinum beauty! My hairdresser talked me out of it, bless her, and I left with bangs. Throughout this Covid nightmare I have been watching your videos and have resisted the temptation to do anything but touch up my grays. Thank you so much for these videos that make me giggle and warn me against terrible mistakes.
I bleached my dark hair platinum instead of covering my greys. It's very nice but time consuming. I'll probably go dark again when I get tired of the hassle. But, for now, going to have some fun with fun temp colors.
God bless you, I’ve bleached my hair and it’s a level 9 yellow colour. I was considering bleaching again in a month but now I know I just need to use my toner!
I just came across your comment and I am having that issue now. My hair is yellowish like a level 9 and I put a Wella t27 and it didn't do the trick. I have done t18 t10 t14 in the past and they seem to work but not sure what this yellowish color which one will work. Could you tell me which tone are you used thank you so so much
Thanks for you fantastic help. Don’t kill me but I’m going to bleach out my henna. I promise it was only 100% pure henna and none of the nonsense that has metallic salts in it.
Edit: it turned out perfect!! Two rounds of bleaching with 30 vol. Then a week of rest and I dyed over with a cool ash blonde. It's a gorgeous colour now. I never excepted to get rid of 7 years of henna this easily. My hair is still in great condition and I had no hair fall at all after the bleach. Thanks again for your video!
Hello, I also have henna on my hair, the last coloring dates from 1 month and a half, I did two bleaching poses at volume 30 (20 min + 30 min) on a single wick to test but for the moment I don't have any lighter color than a carrot orange and I don't dare to put on a layer so as not to damage my hair, which despite everything is still very strong. I wanted to know what color your henna was to know if mine is too dark or not to discolor them further. Thanks for your answer.
PS: my henna is reddish brown
@@mariellr2748 hey!! Mine was reddish brown also! But that's cuz my natural hair was a 7.1. I just put plain old pure henna on. Good luck!!
Thank you very very much for this! This was a very educational video and a very helpful one as well. I am amazed just how good you managed to explain the whole process, including what not to do and what are the consequences if you go through with "not to do" situations. I just ended here because I really like changing hairstyles as well as hair colors (I even thought about bleaching it as well, but didn't dare to do it myself, instead went to hairdresser for that) and I was just really curious about how this all works. Again, thank you very much for taking your time and making this video, so people can have a chance to understand bleaching in general.
I am SOOOO glad I found your channel!! I wish I had found it before I lightened my hair myself. I used to bleach my hair myself for years and years before I started getting it done in a salon and was very successful using your exact advice! I recently asked my stylist to bleach my hair and forgot to leave it dirty before my appointment with her! OMG when she applied the bleach to my head my scalp was on fire, so much so that I had blisters all over it for weeks afterwards, even though she washed it out as quickly as she could (approx. 25 minutes into the process). She then had to add a darker color to my hair to try to even it back out. I have allowed my scalp to heal and have been very careful with it ever since that appointment. I decided to lighten it myself with ION Color Brilliance High Lift Ash Blonde using 40 volume developer and ION Absolute Perfection Booster Step 1, from Sally Beauty Supply. I followed that application with ION Color Brilliance Crème Toner (Snow Cap) using 20 volume developer. After the processes were complete I used Absolute Perfection Color Sealer Step 2. I did not achieve the desired blonde that I wanted and now I will wait a week or so and use the bleach instead. I should have just used that to begin with instead of using a dye over dyed hair. I was afraid to bleach it because of the damage from the salon and opted for a lightening color instead. I realize now that the reason it went so poorly the last time was because I had washed my hair the previous day! And I know better than to do that, I just went brain dead I suppose. I hadn't bleached my hair in a long time and completely forgot about leaving it dirty to protect my scalp!
AHmazing advice! This is definitely a MUST WATCH VIDEO for anyone PRIOR to bleaching hair! 😉🦰🦳👍🏼
The way you speak is So polite and gentle i Watched full video i really learn new things but this part make me laugh 40 vol 60mins you will look like me 😂😂😂
I absolutely love your videos. Your frankness is hilarious. I recently fried my hair with bleach. I wish I had found your videos beforehand! That said, I have followed your advice on restoring my hair and it’s now back to being soft and manageable. I will need to do my regrowth soon. I’m so happy you made this!
My hairdresser took me from a medium brown to a cool toned red, which I really love and do not plan to ever go blonde. I just wanted to understand the process better.
I can never keep a really vibrant red, don’t know why. And one point my hair had been stripped before.
@@gabigayko1863 I don’t wash it for a couple of days after coloring it, use Redken color safe shampoo and conditioner, and you have shower in cool water, not hot water. It’s tough at first to keep the color in but it should stay in after that.
@@gabigayko1863 i know some add a bit of hair dye in their conditioner (like directions/manic panic etc) qnd there are color cremes you can use specifically for that like Revlon Color Creme. It's a deep conditioner that adds color to your hair and is meant to use between appointments. You can use it like once a week and your hair will always look fresh out of thw salon. I've used it for years and its amazing for all my hair colors (white, gray, purple, chocolate brown, etc). They're super pigmented and the red one is really good. I accidentally got green hair once and i only used a little of the red color creme in whwn waiting to go to the hairdresser and my hair went from moss green to a borderline brownish-copper color and it stayed really long.
I love learning about hair you are such a good teacher ☺
This was the best teaching I’ve ever received on hair bleaching! Thank you so much!
I have never in my life listened to someone explaining it that well. Thank you so much ❤
I think I’ll just go with wearing a wig if I want to change my hair color😅.
It’s better to leave this up to the professionals. 😌👌🏻
I'm happy I clicked on this video too! I feel way more confident in doing my own pandemic bleaching! Wish me luck! 💕
Thank you for giving such detailed instructions on bleaching your hair at home. I've seen a lot of these videos. But, I've never heard the science behind things explained like this. I appreciate it!
That is the best explanation I have ever heard. Thank you very much for that.
I really hope it reaches many diy "stylists". With some people you meet on the street, my scalp starts to tingle just from seeing the misery on their heads. I would never do that to myself or my hair.
Why not go to the hairdresser? Of course it costs money. But you should be worth that to yourself, your health and your hair.
And if you can't afford fancy colors, then the natural hair color and a nice haircut is still better than running around with a screaming squeaky color and destroyed shag.
Thanks Hair Buddha, what you show us here is great. Love it. Many greetings from Germany 😘
The most important question that plague women about bleaching.
DO YOU START THE TIMER AFTER ALL THE HAIR IS COVERED OR
START THE TIMER WHEN YOU START THE FIRST STRAND?
First strand! Then wash the section you started with first and work your way through your hair section by section to give them time to develop the rest of the way.
I've never bleached my hair and never will but I've become addicted to your videos! You give such valuable information! Bleaching is a scary process and I honestly can't understand so many people taking it so lightly. If I ever decided to bleach my hair I'd research a lot even among professionals before trusting my hair to anyone. I wish all women watched all your videos. We make so many serious mistakes in our attempt to be beautiful that often we really harm ourselves. Thank you for taking the time to educate us.❤️

Thank you so much for explaining everything so patiently! I was about to ruin my waist-long hair. You helped me realize that I can't do this at home because I won't have any help. I also have 2 different colors: my dark brunette overgrowth and my lengths are RED. I was trying to be ginger without bleaching (sounds so dumb after watching your videos lol) the first attempts made me a dark redhead and it looked nice but wasn't what I wanted. I have curly hair and don't want to ruin my textured hair but now I'm not sure what to do because I had a bad experience at a salon a while ago and had to cut my hair and it took me 8 years to grow back and for my curls to come back 😔 ... I live in a big city now so hopefully there are better salons here. Money is not a problem because so far I've spent the same amount trying to achieve ginger at home and being disappointed at the end.
Soooo happy your video came up on my RUclips feed!!! I bleached my hair 7 years ago in stages, bleaching every 2 weeks until I got light blonde. I did damage of course, but it didnt fall out. I have worked hard to educate myself as much as possible about bleaching. Your video is the best!!! I do my roots with a cream bleach and 25 developer in thin sections working with a brush, sectioning from the back 1st as you demonstrate. I check the clock when I start applying, and it takes me about 20 minutes. I check and rinse before an hour is up. Olaplex is a BIG help. Naturally I have white/grey hair in the bang area (I'm old) and the rest is a natural level 5 probably. My hair is platinum blonde now , soft and healthy. I trim the ends a little after every time I bleach the roots. I have a 3-way big mirror in the bathroom and try hard to not get the bleach on the already lightened hair. There are so many bleach fails on youtube. If you're going to do this, you gotta do it right! Otherwise you'll regret it for years!!!
I wish you all the best.
The sectioning info is very helpful. Going to try to do my hair at home and had no idea how to section til watching your video. Thanks!
Repeat after me, purple shampoo is not a toner. 😂😂😂. I fell out laughing when you said that! Omg! 😂I truly enjoyed watching your video! You're a great teacher and professional! 🥰 Cheers!

I'm thinking to do all kinds of HOW TO..... video's . But it takes time to make them.
I just want to thank you! Following your advice helped me bleach my hair evenly to a level 9-10, without weird patches or burnt hair, and I strates from la lever 3-4. It took a lot of hours but it was worth it. Amazing advice 👏
I’m so happy
Thankyou for your excellent video! Finally, an honest and fully comprehensive explanation about the complete bleaching process .
You are by far sir, the best hairdresser account on RUclips!! Your passion for hair and for making people happy is showing through every video of yours!!
Thank you for you and your videos!!!!!!!
Oh wow thx
oh my god!!!! how has this so little likes. I'm going to make platinum streaks on my hair and luckily came across your channel before I ended up being another fail in your reactions 😂 when I'm done I'm gonna come back and share the results :)
How'd you do?
I have no intention of ever bleaching my hair, even in a salon (I have very dark brown hair) but this was so fascinating & informative!
So helpful! I have a platinum pixie cut and have been diy for several years and only half way through this video I have already learned so many new things!
Thankyou, very wise video, I’m a hairdresser and the whole video is exactly how I was taught. I’m older and it’s always good to refresh the education! Thanks hairbuddah! Xxx
Thanks. This is very informative. I'm slowly going from brunette to blonde to eventually get a dusty lavander hair color, and I was bleaching once per week. I'm going to try to bleach my hair twice next time, 30 minutes each 🤞
Bonjour Mister Hair Buddha. How important, highly useful and precious is this video. Your explanations are so clear that it is very understanding. You are talking in such a kind way that it is very easy to understand. This video was so necessary, thank you for having taken the time and the pain to do it.
♥️♥️♥️
Ahhh I LOVE this episode of yours Mr Buddha! I TRULY do hope everyone who wants to go blond, red, copper, antique silver/blondISH, and ALL other shades which must be lifted HEEDS ALL of your advice!
I MUST share this with everyone who wants to alter their hair....I’ve tried to do my own blond, low and behold, my hair was a really pretty au natural SOFT DARK BLACK color USING BLOND BOX COLORS! Hey, my BFF and I were JUST OUT of the 4TH GRADE doing each other’s hair, and ending up with a BRIGHT neon pumpkin color hair 7 different times THROUGHOUT summer break!
I was crying my eyes out during the day, and, crying myself to sleep every single night because of the horrible results! My once virgin hair was falling out, it was so dry and brittle, but our “going into 5TH GRADE MENTALITY” we did it AGAIN! OHHH the PAIN!! My mom was so upset with me, but a couple hours later, we looked into the mirror together and she started to laugh, and I HAD to laugh with her!
My mother contacted HER BFF that was a master at color, owning her own Hair Salon, she asked me if I really wanted to do blond, and that was a BIG NO WAY, and she colored my hair EXACTLY as my natural soft black. I NEVER altered my hair ever again until, 1994, that’s when I found an AMAZING Hair Stylist and she did my blond for the very first time, and it turned out ABSOLUTELY GORGEOUS for at least 16 years! Now, she’s gone...
Well, I colored my hair back to soft black due to the fact that my natural color was all grown out (but no silvery gray yet) with barely less than 1/4 inch of my blond, hair that was left. NOW I have this really cool looking BRIGHT SUPER SUPER SILVER SILVER STREAKS up on top of my head, and I also have a 1/4” thick silver streak that has grown into my front hair calick and I think it looks pretty.
Im embracing 55 now, and I know a lot of women aren’t willing NOR ready to sport ANY gray silver hair. NOW,,, I’ve been searching for a stylist that can throw full foils and able to color really REALLY teeny tiny thin BRIGHT silver color foils, that way it’ll look super silvery and BRIGHT!!! I’m hoping that it will look pretty awesome!!
I personally cannot wait until I can add the bright silvery foils with my dark hair, then I’ll have my stylist add like a partial foil of just a WHITE-ISH blond color with NO brass nor orange and lemon. I’m fortunate enough that my hair is easy to lift.
Has anyone here added thin silvery foils and/or foil in white-ISH blond to their SOFT DARK BLACK HAIR if so, are you happy with them?
This video was awesome! I've been bleaching 10 years and you gave a lot of tips and tricks thank you!

Dear Hair Buddha, can you explain same way, how to use super lightening hair dies, for ex. 11.0, 12.89 etc? Can we use it on already colored hair? Thank You, You are my Buddha, and You're so cute and sweet ❤
I'm not a professional licensed hair dresser but I have self studied the science of colouring and how to colour correct when you bleach it and then dye it you want to change the colour so you need a white base when you can't get blue out of the hair with bleach to prevent damage, best way is to wash it until its a very pale blue, then use colour remover but for only 20-30 minutes depending on how dark the blue really is, if the blue has green in it or have dyed it green previously it may show up even when removing the colour as the pigment holders like to cling onto that colour, so adding a colour opposite of the colour wheel you can counter that colour correcting the shade to a desired blonde base to work with for when you want to dye your a different colour without any patching
I've just followed you on Instagram. 😀
Best info on the subject on RUclips!👋👋👋👋👋👋
mr buddha...what method do you recommend for lightening hair when you're using semi permanent colors ?
This guy knowns what he is doing and he has an excellent way of expressing what the important principals are , when using hair bleach. He has seen all of the bad examples used and express them with, so we know. I would follow his instructions to the latter; more so then any of the others. It would be wonderful, if he would be, your own hairdresser.
Avrilabs.
Thank you for your teaching. You are a very good teacher for bleaching! I will be practicing this tomorrow.
You are a educator. THE VERY BEST lesson about bleaching. I am very much looking forward to seeing & listening to your tutorials they are priceless. THANK YOU 😊
thx
I finally understand why my bleached hair can’t be colored lighter because it’s already colored so I have to wait till it’s grown out and try again. I can only now change the tone from warm to cool
I'm watching all your videos now... thank you for make this channel cause helping me a lot to not make mistake when i put bleach on my hair !!!!!!!
Thank you for putting actual information into youtube! Thank you Professor of Folicles!
Hallelujah I found this video last night (before bleaching today). I used Difiaba Charcolite paste and 20 vol on Virgin African American hair (approx 2” long). I let the bleach set for 30 mins and was SHOCKED my hair was a pale blonde (blinks 😳) my scalp felt great. I rinsed it out, dried my hair and reapplied bleach. Let it sit for 30 mins and my hair was ICY 🥶 when I was done. Charcolite shampoo and conditioner were used afterwards. Hair feels soft, looks white and only took 1 hour to do. No blisters or breaking hair. Yeah! Thank you so much for this video. I’ve seen so many ridiculous videos about bleaching but never just the facts based on science. Repeating: Purple shampoo is not a toner 😋. Thanks Hair Buddha.
wow, well done !!!! I'm happy that your hair and scalp is great....
