Please do Gang of Four-Damaged Goods. The streets need this.
Yes please! My vote is for "What We All Want" by Gang of Four.
Banger
“We Live As We Dream, Alone” would be way more interesting from a technical perspective. Something Gang of Four would be great, in any case.
The drum sounds were so good even without the reverb. With the reverb, it's an almost perfect recreation. Great job. I hope the sample pack has the non-reverb versions of the drum sounds.
Watching at BLACK METAL TEENS HEARING PINK FLOYD
Yes, finally Pink Floyd! Thanks!, Please do more breakdown of Nick Mason's classic drumsounds (DSOTM, WYWH, Animals, The Wall) 😉
And pre-DSOTM
Any Roger’s gong freak out
Atom Heart Mother, Ummagumma, Obscured By Clous, Saucerful of Secrets, Piper at the Gates of Dawn, and the live sound they were getting, even by 1970, was beyond many live acts. More…
Sly & Family Stone or Kraftwerk drums. Is fireee!
That reverb was such a great history lesson. I finally know what that sound is!
It sounds like the sticks breathing before hitting.
Cheers from Switzerland 🇨🇭 😊
My favorite of this series.
Best one yet! A few future suggestions:
+ Sonic Youth - "Becuz" (or anything else from Washing Machine - the whole LP has a weirdly perfect drum sound)
+ Pearl Jam - "Not For You"
+ The White Stripes - "Blue Orchid"
+ Fugazi - "Life and Limb"
+ Big Thief - "U.F.O.F"
+ The Slits - "So Tough" and/or Siouxsie and the Banshees - "Spellbound"
+ Nirvana - "Scentless Apprentice"
Echoes, one of the best recordings in history.
You are doing the trip engineering. Thank you excellent.
That was a really great one for smashing pumpkins it got my mind thinking the way you were blending those mics good guys nice good stuff beautiful girls great.
Please do PJ Harvey's Rid Of Me!!!
What an incisive program you put forward! The amount of detailed research and application are much appreciated. Even were I not a musician, I believe merely as an audiophile, I would adore your work in sussing out the details of this watermark effect by Pink Floyd (and, of course, others mentioned). Great “reverse engineering “ requires deep knowledge and understanding.
Cheers/Slainte and God bless you as you continue in your gifted lives. 🎸👨🏼⚕️🎸. 🫶✌️♾️🇬🇧🏴🇺🇸🏴😎
Floor tom sounds awesome
AWESOME. So delicate and gorgeous; you two have captured some aural gold here.
I’ll once again put in my two cents, if one day we could see the Cameo-Parkway drum sound?! Incredible sounding full kit for the early 60s especially on the toms. Love all you guys do here!
I LOVE your videos, you guys. You do such a great job!
Please do the king gizzard two drum sound!
I'm about to replace my kick batter head and would like to try one like in this video. Can anyone tell what it is? It looks like a ludwig silver dot, but I'm not sure.
Close miking with condenser microphones everywhere! Now there's so many affordable options you can get this hi-fi sound for a very good price. You nailed it guys. Excellent video as usual. thanks so much
At 8:47 it seems a scene taken from Twin Peaks!😅 ...and it's in a red room too!!😮😅😅
Omg, thank you! :D
omg please look on youtube at BLACK METAL TEENS HEARING PINK FLOYD thanks
love the dry sound as well, gold.
I’d love to hear some drum sound breakdowns for Cate Le Bon - Crab Day, or maybe Aldous Harding - Warm Chris! Not the most famous but both have really cool drum mixes around the unconventional sounds of the other instruments in the mix! :)
great video and very interesting. i also really like the drum sound of Is This It, Or Room On Fire or FIOE. from The Strokes. maybe a good idea for the next video?
Is the new one dropping soon?
New episode coming this Thursday :)
@@Reverb 😮😮😮😮😮
Gah. It sounds so good with that reverse reverb
can you do Weezers Blue Album drum sound
Would love to get a breakdown of a rolling stones song from Tattoo You, Charlie Watt's snare sounds amazing on "Neighbors". THat song has a super interesting sound, you should totally do a video on that one!
please do Idris Muhammad - Could Heaven Ever Be Like This!!!!!
can you please do Fashion or Let’s Dance by David Bowie? pretty pls!
PLEASE DO JOY DIVISION INTERZONE OR DISORDER WHATEVER PLEASE
I need the sound of the reversed percussion on Strawberry Fields, especially since it’s been 55 years since the single was relapsed
can you do dave fridmann? maybe a spoonful weights a ton
Is this the same reverse reverb effect that was used to create the how soon is now train slide? Go smiths!
If I could only reproduce the reverse snare on Billy Squier’s The Stoke…
I've been asking for Nick Mason.
I gotta say...
This sounds nothing like Nick Mason's drums.
The mics are spot on. But the kit is so, so wrong. Nick used maple Ludwig 7 piece kits and huge dark Paiste cymbals.
Too many ghost notes in the playing, too.
A lot of Floyd tracks between 1970-1972 used ADT on the drums, and sometimes hard panned the kick and the snare.
Nick was such a basic drummer, even moreso than ringo, that it is hard for most anyone to hold back so much and play so simple (me included, not that I would want to) I just like more going on. Jess did a great job, I could not even hold back that much. I wish nick played even slightly more varied things but that was not his thing I guess. Tho oddly in an interview of who he likes as drummers, he named ginger baker and keith moon...yet not ringo, lol.
You know any vst with maple ludwig that you can make sound like mason? What floyd songs are the kick and snare panned hard left or right?
@@barneyrubble8255 off the top of my head, Fearless is a notable one.
As for VSTs, I don’t use vst instruments so I can’t bet of any help there.
Joy Division’s Unknown Pleasures would be great. Or The Jam - In The City
'Promo SM'
More Reuben pls
This is admittedly a bonkers request but you should do Street Fighting Man.
Sounds nothing like Floyd.
BFSD quesadilla
right.?
All that 'Reverb' does is show how young and dumb they are . Yes, reverse reverb - what an amazing sonic exercise! Hmmm, they 'invented' reverse reverb at Abbey Road. Was this article written by A.I. ?
Awesome, let's here it???
The song.
around the 10:00 min mark.
@@RocknJazzer that was a 1min demo only.
@@4vinylsound This series is about getting the sound, not whole songs, which they did not promise. It still takes a lot of work to do that 1 min. If you want the whole song listen to the floyd version or do your own cover for us, with the free samples they were kind enough to make available. Let's hear it!
