I got braces when I was 12. I had a gap in my front teeth and my bottom teeth were crooked. It did wonders for my teeth. Thank GOD, my Orthodontist and My parents of course. 🙏🏾❤️

I, too, hate my teeth, even though nobody made fun of them (they chose other things to target back when I was in school). Please remember: 1) school is temporary, sooner or later it must end. 2) When you get to college/uni/work, you can find your own tribe! 🤗 3) When you're an adult, you're in a better position to afford things like braces - it's never too late! Hope you're ok, and try not to listen to the kids at school, they'd want to find something better to do!!!!!!

Getting ready to get the braces hurt like shit because I had spacers on my molers for 2 days before I actually got my braces. Just wait till you have to go get yours tightened you'll want to rip them off because that's how it was for me.
Duncan Smith You should consider yourself lucky you only need braces for 11 to 14 months because I had to have mine on for 18 months. But that wasn't the painful part the worst part is having your braces tightened every 2-3 months. You'll want to rip them out trust me.

Omg, that’s basically my life. I stopped smiling when my teeth got crooked and overcrowded. Really killed my confidence! I couldn’t afford braces and people would ask why don’t I smile or they’d assumed I’m in a bad mood. I have the palatal expander and that’s helping shift my teeth better. I’m getting braces soon super excited to see my teeth in a year or so! 😚
I wish I could afford to come to you for my braces. I have metal plates in my jaw( shot twice in face), and as a result most dentist want touch it. Plus with the medical bills I cant afford braces. 😒 but still watching your videos always gives me hope and puts a smile on my face.😊
I had braces from 6th grade to 8th grade in the 70's. Three years of a metal mouth with elastics and headgear and I just had an overbite. It was really expensive and I was lucky my parents spent the money. Sometimes when I'm lazy and don't feel like brushing my teeth I think of all that money my parents spent for me to have nice teeth and I get up and brush them. I'm happy to see things have really improved for the younger generations.
Before I had teeth that were shaped weirdly and u could see the inside (and if I didn’t get braces, apparently I would have bunny teeth) and now it’s so good I love it!
I missed many opportunities because of my teeth. If I have nice teeth, I think my life would have been different and better. Hope I can get braces as soon as possible. It's affects my mental health a lot. Can't even smile. :)

I always thought my teeth were kinda bad but compared to these, the transformation is magic (I had a very small overbite with some crowded teeth) I am gonna get my braces off at the end of the year, I am excited 😊
So I also got my braces today I I’m also going to write down my experiences here (I’ll try to update as much as i can) FYI: I don’t have a gap but my teeth at the bottom are crowded and the top it’s basically the same but not as much yk Day 1: Putting them in didn’t hurt but now 10 hours later I feel some pressure and touching them or chewing really hurts. I already had some brackets in because I have to wear a headgear as well so I was kind of used to pain I guess. My orthodontist said the treatment would take a year and a half and I can’t wait to get them off ngl 3 Months after: Someone just liked this comment so I guess I’ll update: I mean after 3 months you get quite used to them I doesn’t hurt anymore and I just have to be careful with a couple of things like very hard apples etc. but I can actually eat everything without suffering from any pain. I had my gear changed half a month ago and that did hurt but it got better after some days. My teeth did change a lot in my opinion within 3 months. My incisors were kind of crooked at the beginning but they’ve already straightened out a bit and in general I feel like they look a lot better already. After 6 Months: So 3 months later again I had my gear changed a couple of times but it did change a lot in general. I regularly wear my rubbers (which has a lot of impact) and my bottom row is now completely straight and my upper teeth row also is straight now. I don’t really notice them anymore and barely feel pain so you really get used to them. According to my orthodontist I have 1 year left and I see that there are still a few things to correct. I’ll continue updating

Just got my braces like 4 days ago, here’s how it’s going. Aug 1, 2022 Day 1: I completely underestimated how painful the braces would be. Day 2: Can’t chew at all. It’s so painful when I accidentally hit my teeth with my water glass or spoon. Day 3: A bit better than day 2. Takes like 20 mins to clean my teeth, and I have to do it every time I eat.😭 Day 4: Feeling better, still can’t chew though. I also got used to having braces on my teeth. Day 5: I keep drooling It took 2 weeks for me to eat properly again. Month 1: Braces don’t bother me anymore. I got used to them being there so it feels like I never even had braces. However, brushing sucks. I have to brush every time I eat (about 4 times a day.) I’ve gotten faster, and I can do like 15 minutes now without flossing, but flossing takes another 15-20 minutes… Luckily, I only do it once a day, at night before I sleep. I don’t want to do it 4 times a day 😩 Forgot about this for a year 💀 May 9, 2024 year 1.5: Just got it removed yesterday and I have retainers now. I look so weird and uncanny with my braces off, but ig it looks better than my old teeth. I swear, it looks like you photoshopped some google image of perfect teeth on my face 💀💀
I don’t need them as bad as other people do, it’s just one of my top teeth that is pretty crooked. And my molars that are coming in, are pushing against my other molars and causing my teeth to shift. There’s no room in my mouth basically to accommodate the new molars coming in, but they said something about using a chain. (That sounds SO scary 😳). I’m glad you’re having an easier time with your braces. I want to get them soon before I’m an adult so that I don’t have problems later in life.
@@goofygoober4531 From my expirience, a chain is just a long rubber band they put across your braces. Usually rubber bands are seperated from each other on each tooth but a chain is a bunch if rubber bands connected to each other to close any gaps the braces might have caused if that's the kind of chain your dentist/orthodontist was talking about.
If you have good straight teeth, please please please don’t take it for GRANTED!! You have no idea what it’s like to go through life struggling with a bad set! From school, to making friends to jobs to lifelong partners, basically everything that has to do with being accepted in society stems from a GOOD smile! And most assuredly do not ever put anyone down who was BORN with a set of teeth that society deems ugly!
I got mine in February it’s the worst pain ever because I changed to a stronger metal yesterday but I want this year to be over & done with because I get to take it out next year 😃

@@Moon-qu2uy Yeah my teeth did really hurt like hell first 2 days. Especially frontal teeth, I could barely brush them. If you're gonna have them, prepare some foods which you can eat completely without chewing. Yesterday (3rd day) it got a bit better and I had banana and toast bread with onion spread. I sliced it in small pieces and ate it for like 15 minutes but I did it😂 Today it got significantly better, I had veggie burger for breakfast and although I had to slice it as well, I could easily chew it without any major pain. So if you're gonna have them, don't worry too much. Although it hurts, the pain will go away soon. Also one side effect I found is that my teeth started to wiggle a bit, but apparently that's normal and will go away once I get rid of braces.
Before my braces I was the same, trying not to smile with my teeth, hiding them with my hand when I laughed. Getting them of within the next appointment and it truly will change my life!

My orthodontist told me it would take 1 year, but it took exactly 1.5. Till the first year, I somehow kept myself calm, but after that, it just kept driving me mad, almost literally. At that point I was like I don't even want perfect teeth, just take them off, that's all I want, it's getting on my nerves. The result was great, but man, patience is surely a virtue. My heart goes out to all the people who have had it for more than a year, especially 3+ Just the thought of it sends a chill down my spine

I have a over bite that I can fit fitmy fingers through, crowded and no space for new teeth, teeth that are still coming in but cant, chipped teeth, and crooked teeth, and they r yellow.
тя1ιρу you can always have premolars extracted for space. I had three premolars who were out of line taken out with my wisdom teeth. 7 teeth out in one go. Everything aside of the one impacted wisdom tooth recovered within 2-3 days .
It's so satisfying to see the results. I finished my treatment recently, and I would advise anyone who has crooked teeth to get braces as soon as possible. The sooner you get braces, the better the results are.

Hey yall I’m a younger sibling who just got their braces on and I’m here to warn you that you should do what they say and put on your rubber bands, etc. my older brothers didn’t follow rules, and we don’t have that bad of teeth and it took my oldest brother 5 years. And my other still has them on! God loves you! God bless!
@@alyssaalyssalayssa it doesn’t hurt getting them on. I had them for about 3 days now. You will feel pain in a couple of hours but make sure to stock up on soft foods and get some pain relievers to help with the pain. You got this!

@@stanly270 i had two extractions and they actually made my jaw look better and my face more symmetrical, it did look weird on me at first but after a week or two, i started noticing my jaw and mouth looking very good... dont worry about it, it is not a mistake, theres a reason why your dentist told u to get an extraction because they know it will make ur dental treatment even better and have better results, i had my extraction back in early january and i have not had any side effects, do not listen to those people that say negativity :))

I had overjet really need braces but can't afford it , it's really expensive.
Before I had teeth that were shaped weirdly and u could see the inside (and if I didn’t get braces, apparently I would have bunny teeth) and now it’s so good I love it!
Forgot to mention, I had them for 3 years now and i get them off next week

I missed many opportunities because of my teeth. If I have nice teeth, I think my life would have been different and better. Hope I can get braces as soon as possible. It's affects my mental health a lot. Can't even smile. :)
I feel you. I haven't smiled freely all my life, I'm afraid people will hate me the moment I laugh heartily. People say I'm an introvert but no the actual reason is I love interacting with people , I love to be among them but I'm just not confident enough, i know I'm ugly because of my teeth.

I always thought my teeth were kinda bad but compared to these, the transformation is magic (I had a very small overbite with some crowded teeth) I am gonna get my braces off at the end of the year, I am excited 😊

So I also got my braces today I I’m also going to write down my experiences here (I’ll try to update as much as i can)
FYI: I don’t have a gap but my teeth at the bottom are crowded and the top it’s basically the same but not as much yk
Day 1: Putting them in didn’t hurt but now 10 hours later I feel some pressure and touching them or chewing really hurts. I already had some brackets in because I have to wear a headgear as well so I was kind of used to pain I guess. My orthodontist said the treatment would take a year and a half and I can’t wait to get them off ngl
3 Months after: Someone just liked this comment so I guess I’ll update: I mean after 3 months you get quite used to them I doesn’t hurt anymore and I just have to be careful with a couple of things like very hard apples etc. but I can actually eat everything without suffering from any pain. I had my gear changed half a month ago and that did hurt but it got better after some days. My teeth did change a lot in my opinion within 3 months. My incisors were kind of crooked at the beginning but they’ve already straightened out a bit and in general I feel like they look a lot better already.
After 6 Months:
So 3 months later again I had my gear changed a couple of times but it did change a lot in general. I regularly wear my rubbers (which has a lot of impact) and my bottom row is now completely straight and my upper teeth row also is straight now. I don’t really notice them anymore and barely feel pain so you really get used to them. According to my orthodontist I have 1 year left and I see that there are still a few things to correct. I’ll continue updating

Just got my braces like 4 days ago, here’s how it’s going.
Aug 1, 2022
Day 1: I completely underestimated how painful the braces would be.
Day 2: Can’t chew at all. It’s so painful when I accidentally hit my teeth with my water glass or spoon.
Day 3: A bit better than day 2. Takes like 20 mins to clean my teeth, and I have to do it every time I eat.😭
Day 4: Feeling better, still can’t chew though. I also got used to having braces on my teeth.
Day 5: I keep drooling
It took 2 weeks for me to eat properly again.
Month 1: Braces don’t bother me anymore. I got used to them being there so it feels like I never even had braces. However, brushing sucks. I have to brush every time I eat (about 4 times a day.) I’ve gotten faster, and I can do like 15 minutes now without flossing, but flossing takes another 15-20 minutes… Luckily, I only do it once a day, at night before I sleep. I don’t want to do it 4 times a day 😩

year 1.5: Just got it removed yesterday and I have retainers now. I look so weird and uncanny with my braces off, but ig it looks better than my old teeth. I swear, it looks like you photoshopped some google image of perfect teeth on my face 💀💀

I don’t need them as bad as other people do, it’s just one of my top teeth that is pretty crooked. And my molars that are coming in, are pushing against my other molars and causing my teeth to shift. There’s no room in my mouth basically to accommodate the new molars coming in, but they said something about using a chain. (That sounds SO scary 😳). I’m glad you’re having an easier time with your braces. I want to get them soon before I’m an adult so that I don’t have problems later in life.
@@goofygoober4531 From my expirience, a chain is just a long rubber band they put across your braces. Usually rubber bands are seperated from each other on each tooth but a chain is a bunch if rubber bands connected to each other to close any gaps the braces might have caused if that's the kind of chain your dentist/orthodontist was talking about.

From school, to making friends to jobs to lifelong partners, basically everything that has to do with being accepted in society stems from a GOOD smile!

@@Moon-qu2uy Yeah my teeth did really hurt like hell first 2 days. Especially frontal teeth, I could barely brush them. If you're gonna have them, prepare some foods which you can eat completely without chewing. Yesterday (3rd day) it got a bit better and I had banana and toast bread with onion spread. I sliced it in small pieces and ate it for like 15 minutes but I did it😂 Today it got significantly better, I had veggie burger for breakfast and although I had to slice it as well, I could easily chew it without any major pain.
So if you're gonna have them, don't worry too much. Although it hurts, the pain will go away soon. Also one side effect I found is that my teeth started to wiggle a bit, but apparently that's normal and will go away once I get rid of braces.

Well your not putting it on yourself... Hurts a bit getting it on and getting wires changed for the first time, but getting your ears pierced or getting your period hurts more.
I got my braces last year and I'm going to take them off next year when its near 2022, I really don't like them because it hurts, but after reading your comments I feel lucky and I'm not taking them for granted now!

@@verabellmann4321 I've been loving the process of the braces and what it's doing to my teeth so far but I really hated the extractions, extracted 3 teeth. Eating with braces sucks though, I can't eat nuts properly and I can't eat cheese (mozzarella) without it sticking on the wires.

Case 9 is exactly like my teeth but I have had braces on for 2 days and my treatment time is 12-15 months... I hope my orthodontist is right cause I cant live with braces on for 2 years
My orthodontist told me it would take 1 year, but it took exactly 1.5. Till the first year, I somehow kept myself calm, but after that, it just kept driving me mad, almost literally.
At that point I was like I don't even want perfect teeth, just take them off, that's all I want, it's getting on my nerves. The result was great, but man, patience is surely a virtue.
My heart goes out to all the people who have had it for more than a year, especially 3+

тя1ιρу you can always have premolars extracted for space. I had three premolars who were out of line taken out with my wisdom teeth. 7 teeth out in one go.
Everything aside of the one impacted wisdom tooth recovered within 2-3 days .

It's so satisfying to see the results. I finished my treatment recently, and I would advise anyone who has crooked teeth to get braces as soon as possible. The sooner you get braces, the better the results are.

Hey yall I’m a younger sibling who just got their braces on and I’m here to warn you that you should do what they say and put on your rubber bands, etc. my older brothers didn’t follow rules, and we don’t have that bad of teeth and it took my oldest brother 5 years. @@stanly270 i had two extractions and they actually made my jaw look better and my face more symmetrical, it did look weird on me at first but after a week or two, i started noticing my jaw and mouth looking very good... dont worry about it, it is not a mistake, theres a reason why your dentist told u to get an extraction because they know it will make ur dental treatment even better and have better results, i had my extraction back in early january and i have not had any side effects, do not listen to those people that say negativity :))
