The spikes on cathedrals are called flèche, its a French name given to spires on Gothic architecture. It roughly translates to spirelet or spike on the rooftop of a building.
Also love the map as always... I almost never play on maps smaller than 325x325 but your maps are worth it!
P.S I wouldn't say no to a 325x325 map hint hint XD or even bigger if you're up to it

      Ooh good to know!
I do have a few 300+ maps. Maybe next time I can make one. The problem is usually the scale upsets a lot of things. But it’s always worth a try

Great build! I love the river, Rimworld underutilises water and yours was cute. If you ever make a plains map with a river think about making a heavily meandering river and oxbow lakes. I personally think they look gorgeous.
I do have a question, why didn't you use a command to lift the fog of war at the start? You would've seen that hidden spot where you made the hive from the beginning.

Thank you very much, if you check out my map A Riverious Tale I have a big river. Not entirely oxbow lake though. So I will definitely have to make another river (I love rivers).
I didn’t raise the Fog at the start mostly because I don’t want to spoil too much for viewers. It would show a lot of ore, hidden locations and all the ancient dangers.
Plus it’s fun to discover those spots and make use of them.
      Thank you so much!

Okay that's really cool but how do I actually get it into my game is there like a tutorial somewhere I haven't found anything

    • @WhatsUnknwn
      @WhatsUnknwn  2 месяца назад

It’s actually very simple, you take the zip file I provided on GitHub, extract it into your rimworld save folder.
Then you go ingame and load it as a normal save.
You can change my set colonists with the mod Character Editor, or use the mod Save Maps to copy and paste it onto your own save. You can see a video for that on my channel.

By the "spike" out of the cathedrale, do you mean buttresses ? (A type of pilar that help stop the force of the roof to push the wall to the side)
Also, do you have plan to make bigger map ? Like 300x300 or even 400x400 (and if you want to good even larger, their is "better map size" but, really, the game don't hold it well)
Or to do modded type of biome ? like the alpha biome.

Another comment they are called Flèche but I assume there are different terms.
I have a few larger maps on my discord but also plan to expand more sizes later. I even have some 500s.
I generally do keep them vanilla but plan to do a video showing how you can easily transfer them between biomes with the mod Save Maps

Amazing. I love your username, we are all Rats. Personally I do like marble and slate, but granite has always been my favorite.
Although in Minecraft I prefer andesite, but I use granite for brick builds.
      Hope you enjoy the map!
