Couldn't you believe this man is already 94 and can still remember the old stories and speak out clearly to all of us ! His story probably is one of the most inspiring stories that he overcame all the obstacles, challenges and hardships in the past years, but still has all the passion to work in this industry. His persistence and determination are the quality that every one of us should look up to. Truly amazing and what a legend. I pay my full respect to him! 👏🏻👏🏻
❤❤❤❤❤🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
Excellent to see James Hong doing well and getting the recognition he deserves.
I recognize him on R.I.P.D movie...
I have been watching James in movies since I was a little kid and I'm in my 60's.
Further proof that we age at very different rates.
It's about time!! My dad is 64, I'm 44 and my kids are between the ages of 15 and 20 and we all love him!!
Finally! This man is my childhood! He and Pat Morita were real icons for us
James Hong had also voiced some characters in The Clone Wars TV series and Star Wars Rebels. Thanks for honouring his Hollywood work and contributions.

James Hong is a legend and Hollywood would not be what it is today without him. I’ve actually been calling him “Mr. Hollywood” for years!
Mr. Hong, thank you for your amazing contribution to the world of movies!
A big fan of James Hong and Yonden Lhatoo. The first time I saw James was on Gomer Pyle where he was the story line. As an Asian, in America, in the 70s, that's was very inspirational.
A true legend. Long may he continue! There's something comforting knowing an artist with such integrity is out there consistently putting out quality work.
This man has more energy than I do, and I just got into my teens...
93 and still going strong! Love it
Honestly surprised how he can speak so well despite his age. Insane.
He’s in better shape than Bill Shatner.
Ha ha he grew up in United States.
I thought he was already pretty old in Blade Runner!!! Early 80’s. Just saw him in a movie with Ryan Reynolds and Jeff Bridges. Keep making your movies 🥰
RIPD.. I think one entertaining movie. Critics trash it though
@KS lol think about Asian it pretty common here
Well done, James, it is long overdue.
It is amazing that you are still so fit.
Keep it up.
He will probably outlive us all.
He's AWESOME AND BRILLIANT
93??? Sounds, looks and behaves like a strong 50 to 6o year old. Amazing.
A true legend! He deserved the Walk In Fame mark 🥰❤️🙏
My respect to this legend.🙏🙏🙏
What a fking legend...big trouble in little china is epic. Dude is such a treasure, an American actor on par with deniro or Brando. He deserves all the accolades coming his way.
Love this man...he has a beautiful soul.
One can see that Mr. Hong truly enjoys what he is doing. No role too big or small for this man, he deserves a star in the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
I love James Hong. I'd love to meet him and exchange few words. Simply a Legend 😎❤️
It’s an honor to hear Mr Hong speak!
So nice to listen to him tell stories :)
I have seen James Hong in so many movies and TV shows, not really knowing who he was. But the most memorable moment to me is his role as the restaurant manager in the Seinfeld episode "The Chinese Restaurant". A real classic! "Cartwright? Cartwright?"
EDIT: Oops, I wrote this before I even started the interview. What do you know, that's what they are starting out with.
Congratulations James Hong. You have succeed in getting much deserved recognition thru perseverance. Keep it up for many more years to come. 🎊🎊🎊
Without any shadow of a doubt Lo Pan was one of his quintessential roles and some of the best one liners from that movie. Casting him in that role was brilliant. Mr Burton!
Finally legend deserves that walk of fame.🥳👏👏🙏🙏🙇♂️🙇♀️🙇
I knew his name, and I am glad that he has been honored.
You are a living legend...
Hong Sang is still very sharp at 93! Bless this man!
His Chinese family name is actually 吳 (Ng).
@@RaymondHng I know that. I decided to refer to him with his English stage surname since I'm typing in English.
Long live this legend
James Hong persevered despite all the prejudice, unfairness in Hollywood and the larger surroundings. His longevity and his long career is a testament to his can-do and survival attitude in the face of rejection and hardship. He certainly deserves all the accolades and admiration he is getting. This is a man who clearly loves his work and is hopeful for the future, but is keenly aware of his unique role as an Asian/minority person in white-dominated industry. I'm so glad that another Asian American actor, Daniel Dae Kim got the ball rolling with getting him the Hollywood star earlier this year.
What an iconic actor ! Wish you many many more years of happy life !!
James Hong is the Best! He deserves all recognition!🙏👍❤️
Im a fan of him he's soooo funny and he deserves that .
I remember him in one of my favorite child hood movies….Golden Child with Eddie Murphy. Great movie and geez he’s been around forever!!
He's a treasure 🥹

James Hong is 93 years old. His secret to staying healthy is don't stop thinking.
I like that.
I love this man. Thank you for interviewing him!❤❤❤
how does he look so young
I don't know the man but since he voice the dad of po, he more than deserves the recognition.
Love his distinct acting voice!
He's a legend!
legend lives forever...
Great interview thanks...well deserved Mr Hong
He deserves recognition
Hes 94 with the energy of a 24 year old. Love him! ❤
Big trouble in little Chinatown will always be a favorite of mine
Big trouble in little china is a classic.
Racism against the chinese did not occur only in the US but also in Canada, the United Kingdom, Australia, New Zealand and throughout the Americas from Mexico to Argentina where white, indigenous and mestizo people (those which wrongly think that they are white caucasians) considered the chinese like "non-christian" fools who couldn't pronounce Spanish, English, French, Portuguese or Dutch well.
The chinese not only endured humiliation and insults but many times they were scapegoats victims of physical abuse and murdered as in Mexico in 1911...
In 1949 China was a poor country completely ruined by the wars produced by greedy westerners and JAPAN, then Latin America and Africa WERE much more developed and wealthier regions compared to China.
Generally chinese migrants were treated as servile semi-slaves and seen as beggars by racists, supremacists and their brainwashed lapdogs.
From 1949 to the present, 73 years later: all those racist and supremacist people conveniently "have forgotten" the mistreatment they gave to the chinese and without flinching or being ashamed of their bad deeds they kneel down and beg China today...
It hasn't changed much. Racism is still there.
Met his daughter on southern Oregon coast where she was tending bar. 🤗
James Hong Rules..!!
This is the longest interview segment I've seen of James Hong.
I loved him as a villain in Little China and have liked him in everything since.
Excellent interview thanks. He is an inspiration!
This Guy is a Legend ! Outstanding American-Chinese 😄
KUDOS to Mr Hong.
Despite spending most of his life in the US, Mr Hong still retained the Chinese practice of referring to himself
in the 3rd person @ 8:33.
The man who brought David Lopan to life, enough said. Cheers to you, sir.
and in Everything Everywhere All At Once
James Hong voiced the Shaman from Recently published movie called Turning Red.
James Hong
lives long. ☺
A true Legend indeed 👏👏👏 🔥⭐🔥
(I also love how he has a poster of one of his characters on the wall behind him lol)
frankly I have never seen any elderly Chinese who retired. They slow down, yes, but never retire permanently🤣
Excellent.
93 and he is so active
I used to love the number one son in Charlie Chan when I was a little girl . I was crushed when he wasn’t in it anymore I stopped watching it. I was always happy to see him in other roles
This man must have some insane genes. There are not many people that can be as cognitive as he is at his age, not to mention anywhere near as active. He is a freaking legend. Long live James Hong.
Congratulations
A real legend!
Yes, he is the legend.
Best actor ever
I can only remember him from that 1 episode of Malcom in the Middle. And be was hilarious in that.
I always enjoyed his roles of the bad guy, or wise-man.
Now a SAG winner, long overdue.
i remember this guy from the seinfeld episode in the chinese restaurant, he calls out, cartwright 🤣
Long Live Mr James Hong. Love from India.
1929! Oh my.... And still so healthy!
A TRUE Legend of Chinese Actors. Keep the Artistry Alive #JamesHong 🌺
There should be a biopic about James Hong. It will definitely be most interesting!
Love this guy 😎
Love him 😍
James Hong has been in so many movies and TV and for so very long time !
Absolute icon!
He’s a great guy!
Wow. Bless his heart. He's still going strong . I had a crush on him in the 70's. Call me😍
Do you have green eyes? I heard he was looking for a bride with green eyes:)
Looks like they waited for him to die so that they don't have to give him the star but he refused to die so they finally relented and give him his star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. Some babies who were born when he started his career are dead now. 70 years is a lifetime. Shame on Hollywood.
Actor Daniel Dae Kim actually crowdfunded the $55,000 to get actor James Hong a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
He got a pair of longevity ear.
I falling love with with his adam's apple.
Legend!
He's simply observing humans with Keanu before going to the next galaxy
Incredible! He played all the dark evil roles one could imagine about a bad china during the cold wars. He’s the ideological tool without a name.
We have a shameful past. Looked up Chinese exclusion act. The Chinese from 80- current are mostly professional the cream of the crop but before that Asian Americans are mostly looked down because of their work. That's a fact. However their achievements paving the road for our "Fragile" equality should be recognized. New Asian immigrants had no idea what this man went through. We preach democracy and equality all over the world waving that flag... its time to take a look at our own reflect in the water.
Legend
Finally! ⭐ !
He didn’t have one already?! 😮
A legend who broke the barrier between Asian and cinema in the west and paved way for many
He’s immortal!🥰
I always like his vampire act 🤣
Underrated
