super helpful - I haven't heard of any of these, adding them to my list and diving in this weekend! Understanding ourselves is so important for mental discipline & helpful for reshaping habits & unhealthy neuropathways in the brain 🔥
I swear to God I nomally wouldn't comment on someone's appearance in a RUclips video they put up here, but I honestly think you are one of the prettiest ladies I have ever seen in my whole life. I mean your beauty is striking! I promise I'm not hitting on you or being a weirdo, or anything, that's just a genuine compliment.
I think it's silly that we don't get any psych education until college. As if algebra were more relevant to the vast majority of humans. It isn't. In fact, it's more important than just about any other subject.
Very good but time is short so I look to the likes of “Psychology for Dummies” or some other overview surveys. I took a college course “Psy of Personality” that was fascinating.
I have to say 100 books on what your direction in life is isn't a bad idea. Get all the hard work out of the way right away. Me personally I don't think its a good idea. If your a speed reader no big deal. I think you should toss in a couple or more for enjoyment. I had to read and learn new stuff all the time in my old job I had after college. I was a Broadcast Engineer in Television. What I know from that is you never stop learning.
Behave and Dopamine Nation aren't really psychology books. They may underly psychology as a science but they aren't necessarily psychology. Good list though. Behave and Why Zebras Don't Get Ulcers are fantastic Sapolsky books. He has a new one coming out soon about free will as well.
You can go for any general psychology book like Morgan and King,Baron . But these are very basic. If you want to really learn deep then go for B.K Mishra and Ciccarelli. Ciccarelli is a must
Hi, I didn't receive my bachelors in psychology, only my higher education is in psychology. But if you go on amazon and search psychology textbooks you will be able to see quite a few. Also you can search the syllabi of psychology courses by entering the school name and psych 101 into google. Best of luck!
That seems odd, but I don’t understand higher Ed. What was your major (undergrad) in? Was your advanced degree a M.S. in Psychology or some subset thereof? Not a PhD or you would say.
Thank you for sharing this video.. out of this 5 book I was reading dopamine nation... N it's a good book n while listening to this video I bought another 4 books on audebal.. ... Will try to finish this... Might not go for 100 book change.. as will like to read on other areas also ... But this 5 book list sounds too good... I am into stock market trading n that if you have some recommendations in performance enhancement books it will be very nice.. there is a good chance you will miss this comment. But again thank you... ❤❤❤
Lisa Feldman Barrett's book "How Emotions are Made" talks a lot about this, and how emotions are distinct in various cultures, meaning in the west we don't have many emotions that other countries do. Also, I would recommend "Crazy Like Us: The Globalization of the American Psyche". Is there a particular non-western culture you are interested in?
Thank you for the recommendations! I definitely will look into it. I am particularly interested in middle-eastern cultures, especially Turkey, Syria and Afghanistan, but also just in general.

I don't believe psychology is useful or about anything identifiable. Sometimes a writer is good, but no problems ever got solved by or through psychology.
Psychology has contributed hugely to understanding human behaviour, think back to the pandemic how do you think the goverments managed to control mass, it was through psychological operations.
@@danielreed823 "Control mass"? Meaning? Marx contributed to understanding but his prescriptions and predictions failed entirely, similar to psychology's failures. It "helps" to talk.
@@charvaka9526 by 'Control Mass' I am refering to the majority of a nation who was controlled by the goverments ability to employ psychological operations in order to get people to comply to the regualtions been imposed upon them. The government used institutions and their external influence to manipulate persons into doing exactly what they wanted. All of this was achieved through the field of psychology.

Thanks but the list is too long and many of the titles are not really by psychologists (Winfrey, Tolle, Peterson, Hahn, etc).
Which books do they use in bachelor's for psychology??

Hi there! Do you have a recommendation about books covering psychology of non-western societies?
