Honestly the food management is insane in this game.... First time playing, decided to do Easy, on small map just while I was picking up the mechanics. I'm now restarting for the 4th time after just running out of food unable to do anything within my first 3-4 tiles unlocked....
yeah it's one of the hardest things to get into, when comming from other RTS games (I had pretty much the same problems in my first games) You'll get into it tho and then wonder on high difficulty, how people even manage to get sick in an 801 blizzard :D
@@CrazyDentist Went with the goat clan on my 4th attempt, It was doable then. Next I'll do a Fenrir or Rat playthrough. Rat faction looks really fun to play.
one tip i can give is: dont put healers and a silo at the same tile, healers can get food but, every time they start to heal, the food production drops hard, speacially on winter

Hey! Thanks a lot! ;) It's actually a little situational, I'm gonna say it's mostly the foodbuilding ;). The silo will boost the whole food production by 10%. So if you have a lot of villagers that can get food in the same tile, at some point the silo will get more effective, but in a normal game you shouldn't have a big amount of villagers just gathering food normally :P
Hey thanks for explaining somethings. i know this is an old video but I just got this on the switch and it’s not going well, I keep running out of food and my people are starving and dying all over the place. I had a farm in 1 tile and a hunter in another with food silos in each. There’s no close water for fishing, and by the time I figured out I can upgrade buildings, I spent most of my money buying food from the merchant but it still wasn’t enough, and besides to upgrade my buildings I need stone, which of I had none. Unless I bought it from the merchant, how do I mine stone? It’s not on the build menu, are you just supposed to get it after you leave for northgard? Btw, I was playing story mode, I don’t know if that makes a difference. Anyhoo, thanks for the video. I’m going to give it another go and try my best to not let them starve. Lol!
the number next to your ressource the the amount of it you'll get in 10 seconds and a "month" are 60 seconds. so if you have +10 food, you'll get 60 food per month.

I was playing a game and ended up maxing out my Food Storage so I couldn't buy anymore Tiles. :/
My food always is running out, i hate it and i lose my pacient
Also had problems with that when i started playing the game, but it'll get better with time :P

I find it super frustrating when you have 3+ food tiles with silos and upgraded camps and you still just can't produce enough food to progress

The AI on this game is illogical so is pretty terrible. For example, the game will push your food production down if your gold production is too high.
Worst game ever!!!!! From 100 - 0 in like 1 sec!!
