Many others have been breaking the silence and sharing their stories, "It Gets Better". We have shared our voices, we hope you will too...
Warmly,
Ronnie Kroell & Taylor Proffitt
To see a message from Ronnie's Mom:
• It Gets Better Project...
It does get better! I was raised an Irish Catholic. My mother was the first one I shared with who I was. She said, "Jimmy, do you honestly think, God wants you to live unhappy?" I thank my mother for being a mother!
I love this video and especially your quote... "We give other people the power to put us down. The more confident you are in yourself and the more you explore every facet of how beautiful and unique you are and share your talent with the world, no one can put you down. No one can bully you. No one can make fun of you. You need to be in charge of your own life and look in the mirror with love and respect for yourself." Thanks for sharing!
It hurts my heart to see so much hate in comment sections of videos. I’m a 30 year old gay man and at 18 if I had the opportunity of watching a video like this on a safe platform such as RUclips the last thing I would want to see is a hate comment telling me I would go to hell. Bigots don’t realize what us LGBTQAIC+ people have to go through. Many of us DO struggle with religion and a possible outcome where we are condemned. It’s not about gay sex or sodomy or BDSM. Being gay in particular means you just want to find love, and happen to be looking for it in the same sex.
So. To any child teen or adult out there struggling. YOU ARE ENOUGH. You are loved and important and worthy. And it WILL get better.
If I had either of u as a bf, my life would get better too lol
Exactly my thought lol
9 years ago, you saved my life. I really wish you know that
Thank you Ronnie and Taylor for sharing this important message with us. I hope things get better for those who feel down because of obstacles in their lives.
Ronnie I am a huge fan. You are so special. I wanted to adopt you as my son when you were on the SuperModel show. Taylor appears to be a great guy too.How wonderful for you both to give encouragement to all young people dealing with this issue. Always be who you are. Hold your head up and have a happy life.
I don't care what anybody says. You two are truly doing God's work here! Thank you SO MUCH for telling your story!
When Taylor said, "...actor, singer, dancer," I had no choice but to think of "JACK 2000"!!! And I love him more for it! Awesome video, you two gorgeous men
You guys pretty much brought me to happy tears and added confidence inside! :) Heavenly Blessings on both of you and those who have been a part of in anyway with the "It gets better" project!
@KNOVEMBERSON What is the name of the song I wanna download it to my ipod
You two guys are amazing. Thank you so much for sharing your experiences. Shame on those idiots who leave bad comments. May God open their minds as well as their hearts.
Thank you, Thank you, Thank you! I only came only 6 weeks ago. I am 31 and married. It's been so hard, yet my wife has been so supportive even though see is hurting
You can tell how much they love each other by the way they look at each other
Ronnie: I continue to be inspired by you and so proud of you -- I'll never forget the time we met and became friends. It looks like you are very happy and I love that. We miss you in Chicago! Your biggest fan -- Mike Dilbeck
That adorebly sweet ending "I love you, baby!" "I love you, too!" If something is so cute, how can anyone think its wrong? I'm not a lesbian, but I don't look down of gays just because I'am straight, it's more like I look up to them because they are so strong and brave! The real knights of our age of time!
Beautifully said! This is one of the best 'It Gets Better' videos I've seen. Your words here are so perfect. And you two make an absolutely gorgeous couple! We need more people like the two of you in this world.
it gets better...
Hey I am Megan. I am 12 years old. I am straight but yet I aprove SO much of this project. I believe that everyone has the right to love who ever they wanna love and should NEVER be made fun of for it. You will (if not already) find someone who excepts who you are and loves you for who you are. Lady GaGa says that you were born this way so why not embrace it? I am proud of how much progress our nation has made by helping all the beautiful gays, lesbians and homosexuals. IT GETS BETTER.
This is really inspiration for those who need it because it does get tough and sometimes you just want to close your eyes and never wake up, its like madness in side the head with people just pointing a finger at you, but like they said it does get better. When i was younger i had to go trough discrimination alone and just walk with my head up, but for my fortune im a very strong minded person and this helped me on my sad days well almost every day.
Taylor and Ronnie!! i love you guys!! So proud and thank you for your caring message and outreach. So happy for you both! TP- I have always believed in you...since (when was the first show i worked with you - 5th grade??) the first day I saw you at auditions for 'Sound of Music.' RK- So happy to have you taking care of our Taylor! You are an amazing individual. Keep up the good work!
XOXO
let me first, start off by saying, that you 2 are so adorable together ;)
im a 47 year old gay man- i have battled clinical depression most of my life, but as the saying goes "IT GETS BETTER"
in 2003, i met the most perfect man for me! we were together 5 1/2 wonderful years when he was taken from this world by way of suicide on valentines day.
that was a pretty horrific year.. but its been 3 years now, and i'm making attempts at moving on- slowly, but surely...
but "IT DOES GET BETTER!!"
Thanks, guys, what a terrific message spoken with love and compassion!!!
Love this.
I watch this video every time I feel bad.
I LOVE your message!! Thank you so much for sharing your experience... your smile even when you're talking about the bad stuff from your past really proves that attitude is everything!! and love...and friends...
This video is beautiful. The way they look at eachother is just...its the reason why we as human beings must accept one another. So much love
i'm 16 and gay. i was bullied in high school and thought about ending it all but i turned to the internet and got answers from videos of people like the two in this video and it help so much. i take my funny hat off to you! :)
I think this is like the 20th time I've watched this vid since I first saw it two days ago. It's amazing! U guys look so in love, it's really inspiring! Thank you for doing this :)
thank you Ronnie and Taylor you guys are great i could not have put it better
You guys are absolutely beautiful, and I'm sure what y'all said saved TONS of lives if not more!
Not very perceptive. I am a man, Soldier for 27 years, married for 26 years, 4 sons, 2 grandchildren...saved by Jesus Christ 14 years ago and my life has been forever changed and blessed by His great mercy. Seek Jesus as only He can open your eyes.
I'm a 12 year old straight girl and I've been bullied. I'm a conservative republican--I believe in life. Suicide is not the answer but I know how it feels when it seems like suicide is the only route. I'm also a devout Catholic--however, I support gay people very much. Remember, God loves you! You are all perfect! God bless you!~Kelly xoxo
I just thought I'd say that people who think homosexuality is wrong and immoral disgust me. Gay, lesbian, bisexual, and transgender people are BRAVE in the fact that they can live in a world so full of hate and injustice. I would like to thank these 2 young men for making this amazing video.
Thanks for sharing your love and happiness to help others!
You guys are both beautiful in the outside and in the inside. Thank you for this video.
I want to make a change , It does get better . I'm going to do everything in my power for people to understand that .
I love you guys... thank you for such a kind message :)
Thank you so much guys, Man I wish there were guys at my school who wanted to be on broadway.
Are you ready to post pictures?
Lady GaGa has told us to embrace who we are. IT GETS BETTER.
this video is awesome, thank you guys for all the hope and love that you share here.... really i feel happiness after this video :)
Thank you guys, very touching.
What happened to them? so sad to see them separated. Wish they never hurt each other even they do not stay together.
Their manners, tones and appearances were idealistic!
the way Ronnie looked at Taylor throughout the whole video ..
Oh guys your are giving so much positive feeling to the world. Your energy makes me optimist. Keep living in true happines.
the way the guy in the black tank looks at him makes my day it is so loving and prue adoration it makes my heart warm :) you guys are amazing ! -all my love
of course, if you can't debate the issue at hand, then just make unfounded accusation against the person you disagree with..... it is called an ad hominem attack, but I doubt you will acknowledge that or even care to learn what that means
This made me cry thank you guys!!!
I love how you never stopped looking at him during his speech thing
This made me feel so much better. It feels like it will never get better for me right now. This is so amazing that they are saying thses things. AND, by the way, they are the cutest. couple. EVER!! Anyone agree?
The chemistry between Ronnie and Taylor is incredible. You can see it's true love by the way they look at each other. For anyone who questions the fact that gay love exists just watch this video.
This is my 100th time watching this... I was a few seconds away from killing myself... And my best friend came in the door and saved me.. These "It Gets Better" videos made me so happy, and so proud of being gay. I would love to talk to you two. And thank you for taking your time, to make such a video, it does save lifes, it did save mine.
Ronnie from make me a supermodel! Thank you so much for your support and help Ronnie!
Hi guys, just watched your video. Wanted to say thanks.
I'm straight and don't know what it's like to be discriminated against for being gay, but I was bullied in elementary school for wearing glasses and I know how it feels to be called names.
I really think that it doesn't matter weither you're black, white or purple with polka-dots.. gay, straight or bi.. Everyone deserves the same respect and to be treated with dignity.
P.S. You guys look really sweet together.
because many of them are genuine people who love life when they feel good about who they really are.
You two are so adorable ^_^ thank you SO much for making this video
thanks for posting this !!!!!!!!!!!!!
Amazing video. Thanks so much for posting it!
Amazing video. Great job guys.
You two are so adorable! Thanks for sharing your story!
xxxooo Wade Lee
Very nice, guys! Hopefully the kids who most need to see these messages will find them.
"i love you baby" i want to be heared!!!!!!! i 've had enough this is my prayer
I'm straight and I think that there's nothing wrong with the sexual minorities. In my country gays don't commit suicide, but they are killed just because of who they are. They are constantly hated.Even my friends and relatives hate them. And I try so hard to change their opinions. And now they look at me like I'm from a different planet.People, always remember that there ARE straight people who respect you, love you, think of you!Don't despair! You just need to find the right person who will understand)
Thanks for making this video! I love it!
I WISH IT WOULD GET BETTER FOR PEOPLE LIKE ME
i am 14 and bisexual....i think i am lesbian but im scared to admitt it. my family supports me but i never thought i could b gay. u guys showed me that it IS ok and life getts better even if im not in hight school yet, i have a lot to look forward to
Great video! Thanks for sharing your stories!
My God, they way they look at each other.. Brings tears to my eyes
you can tell that ronnie is soo in love by the way he looks at taylor i want my relationship to be like that
"God made me this way." No truer words have ever been spoken. Thanks guys! You are now pixels in the Global Rainbow! It gets better. LGBT youth ... We are here for you! You are too special, too unique, and too important ... DO NOT DEPRIVE THE WORLD OF WHO YOU ARE AND WHAT YOU WILL BECOME. We deserve you, we need you, please ... STAY!
I don't think so because I don't know what you're talking about.
thank you very much for that video!
thank you guys for your hart felt video
hey guys!! simply loved your message!! you guys are great!!!!
you guys are super awesome!! thanks for this video!!
I love you guys... thank you for such a kinda message :)
Focus on peoples "WHO" rather than what they "DO". I have learned that identity has an effect on a persons destiny. The expected "Norm"' has destroyed the spirit of loving one another. I thank God for a project such as this.
I am so proud of you. I hope I will have one day like both of you!
I think it's true. People will bring you down if you let them do it. Don't give them the power to do this. Step up, find the courage in your heart (and it will be hard, so hard, but to rewarding) and don't let them treat you bad.
okay I'm not going to argue with him anymore now, its just driving me crazy that's all
You guys are Beautiful. Lots of Love for both of you.
Well, besides the kiss at 5:00, one of them talks about his personal experience of being called names, hated and bullied basically about being gay.
Thank you. You are a beautiful couple. I am bisexual and I have only come out to a few people. My father is homophobic and both of my parents are conservative baptists. I have been taught my whole life to hate gay people. It is nice to see someone who doesn't think I'm a bad person, someone who understands. I literally cried through this whole video. I thank you for reminding me that there is so much more to me and encouraging me to just be myself and love me.
On this days i really did pray and did cry, but it helps, on my case it gave me the want to enjoy life. Now on days their is more information more people who really care and in some form they try to reach out to help all in need of some helpful words.
A beautiful couple, a beautiful rainbown, a beautiful message... thanks.
you guys are awesome! and you look suited for one another and very happy in your lives. PLEASE WATCH THIS GUYS!!! ITS IMPORTANT!!!
@quikslver660 - I assure you that little bit was not all that I took away from your video, in fact I found Ronnie's message to be rather articulate and quite powerful and it will be well received by those that need to hear it most. Regardless, thank you both for putting yourselves out there in support of this cause.
this is going to sound a little ridiculous, but that kiss at the end seems so natural, so meant-to-be, so beautiful and full of love it just makes me want to go outside and tell the world that i'm gay...unfortunately, i'm not ready yet.
Y'all are both so adorable. I hope I find a love like that one day.
Great Clip. My 2 cents.... I'm 57. I never really came out but in my early 40's I decided I had to live as a Gay man. I'm so glad I allowed myself that. I met a fantastic guy. And the last 14 years have been heaven. Hang tough kids. Be who you are. Find your support group. Live your life as you were meant to. Peace & Love.
Bman
You guys are amazing totally love you guys........much Respect
This is absolutely beautiful, so incredibly inspiring. Truly loving souls, blessings and peace to you :]
this is Ronnie from Make Me A Supermodel, right?
wow your video is so inspiring and it brings a smile on my face every time i watch it
I learned long ago that there really is no "debating" with religious fanatics. It just goes on and on. I wasn't really attacking you by calling you a closeted gay person. Most out gay people were once closeted. However, when someone expresses such extreme views against gays, it means that the issue touches them in a deep, personal way, and that usually means that they are gay themselves, and are in a panicked state of denial. Also, your photo made my gaydar go off. Quod Erat Demonstrandum
@zakwylde91
Ciao Bello!
Thank you ever so much for standing up and being counted!
You are my "brother" and I'm so glad to have you with us!
Sinceramente,
Blaine
Thank you for this lovely video.
And the way you two look at each other is adorable. ^_^
aww I love the part when you both say "spiritual connection", so cute, you are so meant to be
You made so many wonderful points in this video that apply to everyone, regardless of sexual orientation.. very well-spoken. Thank you for making this video. I wish more people gazed at their partners with such love. Blessings to you both!
