Dude, honored you shared my video. I’ve been following you for a while and love your channel and vibe. BTW, we have a mutual friend in Leighton Walker. Well done on your Costco haul!
I have just recently started following you on youtube a few weeks back when I was researching the Kirkland wedges. I'm not going to pretend I have watched all your videos, but I have really enjoyed the content I have seen. You come across as someone that just loves the game and wants to share that love of the game. Keep up the good work....and try not to melt in Florida.
Great to see, I follow both of you from here in Thailand. Looking forward to Simons review. Gabe and I have already discussed the lack of Costco here but interested in the review.
I've been very happy with the equipment (gloves/balls/wedges) from Costco. I'm not a great golfer but I hit the wedges better than any I've had before. Going to buy my brother the KS1 putter for his birthday to see if that helps him on the green. ⛳😂
The best channel on RUclips in terms of second hand clubs and getting an understanding than new isn’t always better. Recently really started to look at the golf club market to see if I could use a similar business model as there is money to be made. Love it mate and it’s given me something out of family life and work to get stuck into.
Kirkland golf balls work great for me! Soft and spinny for a mid handicapper but don’t break the bank when I shoot one or two into the woods off the tee. Eyeing up a KS1 putter too as I’ve totally fallen out with my one but not sure if going all out for a Scotty or something is worth it instead.
Hey Simon. Would love to see some car boot sale and charity shop episodes! I enjoy the stacked golf channel and I think something similar in the UK would be great! Also.. bring back what’s in my bag!!
Thanks Richard for that, yeah I think that would be good to see what we could find going on in the Uk. For sure. I’m a Big fan of stacked golf so makes sense.
@@SASGolf i get my stuff from the tip or boot sales when they start again. i do like to try new clubs but mostly they need re-gripping so rather than spend a fortune on grips everytime i blow them on with compressed air so therefore i can easily remove them for use on the next set. or just fit cheap grips for resale. i pay about £10 for an older but interesting set (non name brand) and less than that per grip..i use them and flog them on for a small profit for non name brands do not sell. For the casual golfer or beginner though they are perfect.. Charity shops for golf clothing and facebook marketplace is always good. i missed a set of AP2's for £20 recently.
After only 3:09 in I gotta say it, "Simon you are such and uplifting guy"! Unspirational in the morning! Lovin the journey with you, your on screen presence and continued improvement of your videos! And look at all those views! The channel and your following are growing! Look out Shields and Crossfield! I am sure they can feel your footsteps! Keep it up mate!!
I’m 54 years old and I have not seen used equipment this expensive in forever. You are right old stuff is the same price as new stuff. Crazy! Great video.
Kirkland Signature 3-piece golf balls are terrible. They've been recalled (here in the US) and replaced with a version 2.0 and they're still garbage. They last one hole... maybe. There have been complaints that they urethane cover starts peeling off after a single iron strike. The Kirkland wedges are good. The golf gloves are passable... which is why they're cheap.
I'm a subscriber to "Lets Pay Thru". FYI, Kirkland came out with a version 2.0 of that ball that is a bit less spinny and a really good ball. The wedges are fantastic and the putter is in my bag for the long haul.
I went to Costco in Reading last night and they still have plenty of stock of everything including an entire pallet load of the gloves. Looking forward to trying my new purchases out!
In Japan Costco: balls; Kirkland, Volvic, Honma, Clubs; wedge set, Callaway set driver-sw plus putter, and more; similar prices. You can look at their online store. Lots of stock but no shortage of clubs in Japan anywhere.
It’s great to see another non-South African get as excited about Biltong as I do. I’m eagerly awaiting a video review of the Biltong. If you want to mention the wedges briefly that’s cool too.
Great video Simon, when your channel is primarily about the second hand club market but your actually promoting new slazenger and Kirkland equipment as they represent better value for money at the moment that's how fair and honest you are. Big respect. Next time tour I try the costco chilled ready made chicken jalfrezi. Absolutely lush.
I have used the gloves for a couple of years now. Great gloves, were originally selling 3 packs of Callaway gloves in Costco then they brought out the Kirkland, I can’t find any difference. Have progressed to the balls, which again as a 22 H’cap I am prepared to loose a couple each round for not a lot of money. Your point re labels and value for money is well made. 2nd hand clubs are stupid prices on e bay as you have stated. Starter sets from Sports Direct and cheap good balls from Costco are a great way of picking up the game. Great video content.
Been using the Kirkland ball for the last year and love it! Get some much spin when actually land them only green and at only £1 a ball, don’t care about losing them which is ideal as I’m newish to golf. Agreed on the billing too! Far better than jerky
Got the wedges for my sons 16th birthday worn his slazenger starter wedges out after 12 months...kirkland wedges seem so far very good spin the ball an feel bit better than the cleveland wedges I use in all honesty...only issue we are both 6ft tall seem a little small in length an will be getting them regripped for my son soon to midsized golf pride grips as the kirkland wedge is grip is very thin...for the money ya can't really complain very nice set limit options but if ya want options go get fitted I guess....also the putter don't think k you mentioned it that the extra weight kit is an extra 35 or 40 quid bar the ones it comes with had me eye on it too but as you said for that money I'd be better off with a putter fitting 👍⛳👍
It’s a brand name thing, they all do the same thing, Costco/Taylor made Rolex/Casio, Ferrari/Skoda They both get the ball down the fairway, they tell the same time and get from A to B! Some have more money or brand recognition. Unless your handicap is super low it makes no real difference.
It's really a rhetoricol question. Good on you for giving him credit. Gloves and golf balls are top notch. Wedges were amazing. I have a guy bugging me to sell him my Kirkland putter if I don't want it. You do need the weights to optimize the putter.
I just wish that the Costco just 1 mile from my house sold this stuff, but they don’t!!!, so frustrating, hope you enjoyed the Biltong ( used to live in Africa and love it) , great video, keep em coming👍👍
Been using the balls for the past year, definitely made a difference using the same ball every round. Apparently we will get the red box v2 Kirkland Signature balls in 2022 which are apparently less spinny with driver and more like the OG ball in terms of distance.
In NZ, we are just getting our first Costco here in Auckland. Cant wait to see what is available. We get so ripped off here by NZ retailers its not funny, and the second hand market is just ridiculous and was even before Covid.
I have the wedges and they’re really REALLY good they replaced my old Macdaddy wedges. Also they don’t say forged but they are 100% forged you’re essentially getting forged set of vokey wedges for $160
Agree with you on two fundamental points here, Simon: 1. The Kirkland Signature wedges are excellent VFM. I have them, and my Mac Daddies are no longer in the bag. 2. You can _not_ go wrong with a bit of 'tong. Note: I think the Kruga brand isn't actually the nicest, though. Try from a South African butcher (plenty of those in the UK). Heaven!
Hi Simon hope you are well! Just a quick question, I was wondering what the brand of hat you wear in your videos are (the one with the dog outline on them?)
Currently looking for new wedges… but like in your review I currently game a 50,54,58. The gapping of these really put me off even though everyone raves about them.
I’m an American living in Scotland now and the UK Costcos has way more golf stock than I could find in the states. Wedges and gloves are great. Get em while you can!
When you're looking at the wedges, you note you can resell them used for cost. In the US, at least, you've got the option to return them to Costco for a full refund, I'd be surprised if UK Costco was different.
i bought the costco callaway bag , ks1 putter and kirkdale wedge set a few weeks ago after seeing Rik Sheils review(along with the balls and gloves.) i am really interested to see your review of them as i feel it will be a bit more genuine. I also bought the costco callway edge set a few weeks back but i returned it yesterday to costco as the driver began to crumple at the top of the face after a stint on the driving range. I was expecting better but you get what you pay for, i guess!
The balls are great, the putter is amazing. I plan on buying the wedges, but have to wait. I will say DON'T waste your money on the gloves. I hated the feel of the glove.
The gloves are fantastic, picked up some a few weeks back and I don't think I will be going back to FJ when you can get 3 for the price of 1 with Kirkland gloves, cabrera leather too. Interested to find out what you think of the wedges when you hit them.
I don't get the wedge lofts. They're surely aimed at players using chunky, cast irons, therefore 52 is too large of a gap between the PW and the 60 will do unspeakable things in the hands of a dude going for a Phil Mickelson flop from the fringe.

Costco sells Callaway edition full set of clubs for around £400. The set includes the Kirkland putter, Callaway irons, woods, hybrid and a driver!!
They are very rare though.
The putter used to be an Odyssey, has it changed to a Kirkland Sig putter?
Now get down to decathlon and buy their golf package set £170.
Kirkland balls are the best bang for your buck imo. No costco around me so I've never hit the clubs but I'm intrigued. Another good video 👍
Simon, have a look at Stacked golf, be interested to see what you can find at UK pawn shops, flee markets, charity shops like what they do in the USA
You absolutely should. The guys at TXG have reviewed the wedges and said there is absolutely no reason not to get them if you are on a budget

Rick Shiels did the putter review......just saying:) And love Gabe at Let's Play Thru....great review.

The Callaway Hex balls also at Costco are great. Cover lasts longer than the Kirkland's and feels better putting (personal preference!)

Hey Simon, maybe try a decathlon sports, I've seen their 'own brand' clubs and always wondered if there any good.
The wedges look great from what I've seen on them 👏🏼
Decathlon, they have their own in-house brand called Inesis.
Would love to see a full round with you playing the Kirkland wedges, Kirkland putter and sub £300 irons/woods

Great video Simon, it's crazy some prices on ebay just now!
The fact there the same price as the new gear makes it absurd!

Biltong is NOT jerky lol >:o
The balls are brilliant, feel soft and spin like mad. Sure o heard Callaway make their clubs for them?
If you're on a budget yes
Enjoyed the video. Can you compare the wedges to your own set and let us know your thoughts. Similarly with the balls.
Great video again…. One quick question and a bit of advice. I’ve got 2 x Vokey wedges 50 &54 deg, is it better to sell them separately or as a pair?
Beef jerky is like golf, sex and pizza: even if its bad, its still pretty good.

I've heard the balls are great. I wish they made them in yellow, as I have a hard time tracking and finding white balls >_
Hmmm, do i sell my SM6 50,54,58 for some brand new Kirkland wedges :D
What do you think to the callaway edge set?
If costco does custom fittings, with the use of GCQuad and they sold Titleist. I would buy from costco!
Titleist isn’t the end all be all brand.
Hmmm, old man colors??
I'm older, but I guess I don't know what old man colors are.
I'd never buy anything else than Kirkland balls if they'd be available in Finland. Fact. Also, the putter looks like a gem.
You could try decathlon also,
Thanks for that mate, another mentioned them, so think there definitely will be on the cards now.
I don't get the wedge lofts. They're surely aimed at players using chunky, cast irons, therefore 52 is too large of a gap between the PW and the 60 will do unspeakable things in the hands of a dude going for a Phil Mickelson flop from the fringe.
That's why I also have a 48' wedge. Perfect gapping for me with that in the bag.
Biltong is far superior to Jerky! Got your back Simon.
The wedge set and putter have dropped from A$250 to A$200

We don't buy clubs from there because we can't: take that to the bank from a neglected and generally abandoned left-hander.
Biltong vs beef jerky isn't even a debate.
