    ABOUT:
    In this tutorial we will focus on adding MOOD by creating an AUTUMN COLOR GRADING combined with luminosity adjustments in Capture One Pro 20. We will enhance one image and having our settings in place we will copy them and apply to a series of images. BATCH EDITING can be a massive time saver - you don't have to recreate from scratch the AUTUMN COLOR GRADING and MOOD. In a few seconds you can create a consistent series of images with a simple Capture One technique.

      Awesome, thanks for sharing Tom! And on a totally different note - how weird this sounds when taken out of the context: “Repositioning the point will change my world”. So intriguing, could be an opening line of a story... 🤓

      @@KasiaZmokla At times, I have a way with words. Your video production, photography & post-processing skills are wonderful, thank you for sharing. I've only become serious about this line of work in the last 24 months. So much to learn. I haven't delved into color grading or B&W processing yet. I'm still at the realistic color landscape stage at the moment. I look forward to watching more. Eskimo Tom.

    @Kasia - After watching 100’s of Capture One videos over the past 4-plus years on RUclips (plus purchased video series), last night I came across your Channel (watched your color grading using Skin Tones last night). Amazing content! I will be binge watching your Channel all weekend.

    As already commented, the use of the skin tool for color grading these images is a very nice tip. Also the shifting of the sampling point is very helpful. Thanks!

    A wonderful tutorial Kasia. Thank you. Since watching your other color tutorial where you taught me about how to push colors with the skin tone tool I have been working on the technique with several of my own photos. I had some questions after doing this and now this new tutorial has answered all of them.

    I loved this too! Norway is very sad country now, more corrupt than Poland, and our country is being destroyed utterly by wind power plants for Germany etc. It's crazy here, so please warn your fellow citizens, and welcome home those who believed in a future in Norway. I don't anymore. The only thing that can ease my pain is photography, and to watch brilliant lectures like yours.

      @@KasiaZmokla We had! It's now lost, you have no idea. They send enormous amounts of heavy machinery into the most unique landscapes of Europe, to make wind power plants. They utterly destroy the land and culture of the Same people and their ability to continue traditional reindeer herding. It's apocalypse! But we fight back through Motvind or Counter Wind, 20.000 members now. Oppland, where I live, is the last county not affected.

      I've just googled the wind farms in your country, really sad, all these images with endless rows of windmills. Good to hear that there are still untouched counties and people are opposing the trend.

    Thank you for another timely and helpful video. I was photographing the fall colors this week and was able to follow along on your tutorial and create a template to practice using your methods. One question I have is why you keep the saturation at a negative value on the background layer.

    • @KasiaZmokla
      @KasiaZmokla  4 года назад

      Hi John, thank you, glad it was helpful! I like to desaturate the background layer to mute all the colors, this helps me to create an idea for the particular color grading. In the example dicusses in the video, the shift is quite dramatic, we went down with saturations on greens super strongly. Just performing the initial step on the background layer helps to look at the image from a larger perspective, if that makes sense. Without the distraction by the strongest colors present in the original file.
      This is just my personal take, I liked the result so I left it desaturated. At times it is worth revisiting the "Saturation" slider after working with color and check if bringing back some saturation might benefit the image further. Hope that helps :)

    • @coreycorey9611
      @coreycorey9611 4 года назад +1

      @@KasiaZmokla Thank you for the reply. It makes perfect sense and I will put this in practice and revisit the saturation after working with colors as you suggest.

    If you made this into a style, would it work if there was a person in the image?

    • @KasiaZmokla
      @KasiaZmokla  3 года назад +2

      It depends on an image - for a "silhouette" portrait or people surrounded by autumny scene it should work just fine, but for a portrait close-up probably not.
