For me Kenny was my second spiritual father who in his songs always pointed vertical. He inspired me basically with all of his songs. I went to his concerts in The Netherlands and had the priveledge of meeting him twice. At the same time i met Jesus in him! One of my favourite songs: Promises to Keep and Absolutely Positively. I want to thank his loved ones who gave him the space of being a testimony to the world, to me 🙏❤ See you all soon!
I saw Kenny in concert on New Years Eve in the late 80s in Dallas, Texas. He had lost his voice but decided that the show must go on…and entertained us for over two hours with funny stories, a couple of skits (mostly improvisational) and did his best to bark out 5 songs that evening. His voice was so strained, but it really didn’t matter. For the folks that showed up on that cool, crisp and wet New Years Eve, it was special…and I have never forgotten it. Rest in peace, Kenny.
Much like Voyager 1&2 sending data from the edge of the Solar System, Decades after it's original mission was fulfilled, the music of KENNY MARKS still ministers to me (and many others) decades later, and helps inspire me in my lifelong walk with Jesus. So thankful for all of the CCM music of the 1980's, it has literally changed the course of direction of so many Believers in Christ!
I thank God for Kenny Marks talent and ministry. His music kept me encouraged and uplifted through my teenage years in the late 1980s. Countless hours of my life were spent listening to his music. The great song selection on every album helped many in their walk with God, indeed. God bless Kenny's family and close friends.
I never had the opportunity to see and hear Kenny Marks in concert because I don't recall him coming to the Washington DC area or the Baltimore MD area
Oh wow, didn't know he passed away, just started thinking about one of his songs and thought I would google and this came up. Such a great song writer and singer. Thank you for your contribution and making a difference in my life.
I was able to see Kenny a few time’s in concert around the early 90’s. Kenny was always my favorite musician and really was what started me in listening to Christian music. Loved him. I’m sure he’s playing and singling in Heaven. Can’t wait to meet you someday.
Kenny was the first Contemporary Christian artist I ever heard. He's been such a huge blessing. Fast forward a number of years and I had the honour to interview him for a magazine article. He was definitely the "real deal". Great horizontal music with a strong vertical connection.
Gift from God was what He was...He was a gifted Man of God and sincere condolences from down under I play 'Nobody else but Jesus' and that song still thunders...

Thank you Kenny. I loved your music as a teen in the 1980’s. I wore out your tape in 1983 and then had to go get the CD. Miss you.
Kenny was a dear friend. It was also great to see David King who put our band together.
