Here is a later video showing the features of an Amazon Omni TV that automatically turns on the camera ruclips.net/video/QwZDtfGj8Ss/видео.htmlsi=jyTA9XZiXVtq57g3
Hi, do you still use this set up? Or are there better arrangements out there nowadays? Does the Amazon App need to be running on the TV, or can another App be running and the incoming video call would still show up on the screen?
Thanks for your question. The Amazon Omni TV offers a much better solution. It can power on the TV and connect the webcam, even on a Drop In call. I'm working on a new video to show this great feature.
@@Technology4Seniors Hi! One of my family members just went into assisted living, and wants to be able to video call. We are needing to buy a TV for their room, so figured setting it up on the TV would be the best route. Is the Omni TV the only Amazon device that allows the drop-in feature? Given that they are not tech-savvy and have troubles with speaking (dementia), it would be best if they did not have to press a button or speak to answer, even as easy as it sounds to us. Does the newest generation fire stick or cube power on the tv on a drop-in call like the Omni TV? We are trying to find the “cheapest” way we can drop in and chat with them. Thank you very much!
Thank you for the live demonstration, seems to be the first :) I bought a fire tv cube together with the recommended aukey webcam (and the microusb adapter) and didnt get the video activation working. Could you write, which firetv cube software version you have installed? Probably mine is not the newest. Thank you!
Right now the EchoShow 8 is the only Echo Show that can have Zoom meetings but it has no HDMI output nor the ability to cast to anything. However, you can have a big screen Zoom meeting on your TV using your phone or tablet. ruclips.net/video/nPlPBlFk05c/видео.html
If i were to call someone who does not own a fire tv, for an example to his/her phone, is there a specific app that he/she need to install in the phone?
Yes. Alexa video calling will work with the Alexa app on a phone or tablet. You just need to add them as a contact and have them add you as a contact. www.amazon.com/gp/help/customer/display.html/ref=vnid_GESC9JSB6F54856N?nodeId=GESC9JSB6F54856N
Hi! Great video, you clarified some doubts I had, however I have some more doubts. Can I use any kind of webcam with my Fire TV Cube to make Video Callings or only that Logitech C922x Pro Stream Webcam? Today, that USB Adapter is not included in the box of the Fire TV Cube, right? so I suppose any kind of USB Adapter could be used? Thank you a lot in advance.
@@maferr6404 I just tested it again to be sure... If I say "Call Rennie Tucson's Alexa Devices" it will start the Alexa app on that iPhone giving a dialog box to answer the call. The video call works great.
Unlike the Fire TV Cube, there is no way to plug a webcam into the fire stick. But, if you use your phone as a camera and microphone, you can make Google Duo calls and get a big-screen display on the fire stick. See my RUclips video ruclips.net/video/nPlPBlFk05c/видео.html

Hello Phillip, I used Fire TV Model No. A78V3N . Amazon support has stated that it needs FireTV OS revision 7.2.2.9 or higher, so be sure to update
Can I stream Zoom from an Echo Show 5, through FireTV/FireStick, onto my TV -- using the Show as a webcam for a Zoom meeting?

Any USB adapter test has the right connect should work. Be sure it's not a "power-only" adapter. I have only tested that one camera
What was the device on Reenie's end?
An Echo Show 8
But you could also use a mobile phone running the Alexa app
@Technology4Seniors ok so I'm stuck on how you make thevfiretv cube call the alexa app on a person's phone.

Does Firestick support webcam? Is possible to make Google duo call using firestick?
