The 60FPS version is much much better for the motion subtitle test. My Odyssey G9 did surprisingly well against the test, aside from the fully vertical dimming zones. That being said, the right-most dimming zone was lit up the entire time due to the branding logo in the corner.

I got an old 2015 model of a Sony Bravia (40"). I'm so surprised how well it's held up! I use this daily for hours. I watch lots of RUclips, Netflix and play videogames. Sometimes for many hours at a time. I haven't even cleaned it in a while and I was still so impressed with this test!

Thanks for putting this video together! I do a lot of buying, repairing and reselling / donating old tech and televisions are some of the most items I came across. I tested this on my Hisense 50R6+ and everything looks pretty good to me, it’s not the fanciest TV on earth but for a 50” Roku TV that I got ~14 mo ago on Black Friday it gets the job done! I’ll let you know as I test it on some of my other units, and I’ll certainly be subscribing for more content

My Panasonic TC-P65ST30 plasma made in 2011 has been my living room workhorse. This test showed no issues at all. I'm truly amazed at how well it's kept up over the years. I remember when I bought it all the FUD about burn-in and how the plasma would leak out. The image would only be half as bright in only a couple years... Blah blah blah.
    Thanks for sharing this.

I got a Sony Bravia KDL-40R553C (40'') from april of 2015. Been using it daily as a computer screen (5-15 hours a day) and the only thing I've noticed (prior to this video) is a screen burn-in of the Windows Taskbar, a clear and very noticable line when the screen is gray. Though it is not that bad of a burn-in! Nice to see that my almost 7 year old TV still has no problems with frame-rate, banding nor DSE!

Hi there, thank you for this handy video, I recently changed my 3 Yr old LG C9 in for. a lovely new Panasonic Jz1500, it's a wonderful Oled, which is just a bit brighter and has a few more options for picture settings than my older C9, I. needed a. break from LG as I've had so many although the C9 was my first oled, whilst waiting for the Panasonic to come I. had to use an older lcd, and I couldn't bear it after using OLED,, there's no going back, as for the test, my tv being Oled did wondefully, it's a very expensive TV as the C9 was when it was new, but it's a lovely upgrade and doesn't have the clunky home screen of the C1, thanks again for you're brilliant videos

In your previous 30 FPS upload of this same test I commented that the subtitle test was " Stuttery", and not clear. I suggested the problem lay with what I believed was a 30 FPS upload to RUclips. Thanks for acknowledging I was correct and re-uploading at 60 FPS. Now it's much smoother and clearer. I suspect if one was able to run this test at 120 fps ( I know that is not possible on you tube's platform), it would be completely perfect. Using the LG 48" C1 OLED 120 Hz

@@HeadShotPR RUclips doesn't have 120 hertz on anything. 60 FPS Max. That's why there was still some stuttering. It's also worth note that if you have g-sync activated the 30 FPS would be even more stuttery. At 60 FPS g-sync will be complementary as it won't be trying to turn on and off it does not work beneath 50 FPS or it would be trying to turn on and off all the time. Ultimately the test should have 120 FPS Source but as I've said before that's not possible on the RUclips platform

Great video thank you1 I was happy to see my LG OLED C1 in quite good shape after 1 year. i noticed a bit bad motion handling only on the very small square on some parts only....however i have a question...
Is it possible for a OLED to have degration on Blacks? Some people are saying that this is not the case since if it is black literraly the panel switch off these pixes. My tv was exposed to a very bright living room although i have always the blinds on and i am living on a cold country but still...so i was wondering if that affected somehow my black levels...i get sometimes the impression that i can distiguinse the black of the screen from the bezels(edge of the panel)

The small white box at the beginning of the test appears dirty, with greyish tints when it's moving around, and it's the same in the 30fps version of the video. It's not my screen; it's the box itself. Is this normal? Other than that, my TV passes with flying colours. Also, my TV's blacks are truly black and it's not an OLED. I was looking for a black screen test since some games are quite dark. Any suggestions?

Wow, clear difference between the U7K and Q7. The moving text at the bottom on the U7K looked like it was struggling but was sometimes smooth. I honestly thought that was part of the test. The Q7 was able keep the text moving smooth the entire time and now I realized that that was the intent.

My TV is a JVC 32" LED Smart HD TV LT-32C670(B) that's about 6 or 7 years of age. It's only capable of displaying in 1080p resolution, but it 'passed with flying colours' the tests. (I also ran the tests on my unbranded CRT monitor, and that passed all tests too, with my resolution set at 1024x768. (My eyesight isn't the best, hence the need for me to use a lower resolution when I'm using my computer.))

I bought a super cheap, $500 (AUD) 60" 4K TV from an Aldi sale a few months ago. I wasn't expecting an awful lot, and was very surprised at how well it held up in this video. There was some VERY minor DSE, and I already knew that there was a bit of motion blur present (obvious when using PS5), but apart from that it's been excellent. Thanks for the video!

Thank god i found that the issue was the video not the TV. The rectangle was glitching while moving fast and it turns out it was because it was not 60fps. All is pretty ok for a cheap TV (TCL 50"P735), the movements are pretty smooth

My philips 43pus8505, which i bought for €500 and is a year old, performed well. Only things were framerate, subtitles not entirely clear, and little dark corners and one dark bit at the side slightly above the bottom left corner. I already knew about these things so no unpleasant surprises. Pretty good for the price no?

What does it mean if the motion is perfectly smooth, but every 2ish seconds the object jitters drastically. I have a s95c. I remember watching this video a few months ago and everything seemed fine. Maybe I messed with a setting somewhere.
EDIT: I was on the RUclips app on my Xbox. After watching the video through my TVs RUclips app, it was perfectly smooth like before. What the heck does that mean? Bad hdmi cable?

Using LG 48CX as a PC monitor, all motion interpolation disabled and this 60FPS is so much smoother. After 2 years use no issues. If anything this test highlights how good LG OLED panels are. I think Gigabyte use OLED and their OLED are 50% off at the moment. (Q1 2022).

I'm using a 5 year old Sony LED tv model KD-65X7000E(I'm in Malaysia). I think I saw a little bit of 'dirty screen effect' during the dimming zone test. Is this normal for a mid range Sony 4K TV? I can't return it as the warranty expired in May 2021 😭

Well my guess will be you did not even notice it until this video.
Even so it's 5 years, if you see a little bit.
Your luck is higher then the average with dirty screen effect.

Benq W-series DLP projector... I forget which one and it doesn't have an easy to find label. These tests are probably not that useful with a DLP projector; they do show up inconsistencies on the wall I'm using as a screen, though.

There is a small dark spot on the bottom right but it's just from the view angle. I used this TV because my old LCD monitor kicked the bucket due to bad capacitors.
