Typical JD comparison. They seem to always pick something from someone else that's not even in the same class. My sons operation has CaseIH, John Deere and Kubota, each does it's own thing quite well but comparing an MX series to 5000E series is ridiculous.

It appears to be a smaller tractor because it has smaller wheels...and it's built lighter. Wheel packages can change. This is the tractor Kubota offers in the comparable class. Just like in every other class...they are lighter. Doesn't say much about their driveline when they are bragging about having heavier steel body panels.

They are in the same class, the Kubota just makes their tractors smaller than John Deere tractors generally. I use both of these tractors on my farm and the John Deere I think is better.
I’ve had both, my experience with lots of saddle time John Deere is superior, Don’t take it wrong that’s just my personal experience, whether someone buys a John Deere or Kubota they should be proud of what they have

John Deere is comparing a bigger tractor to Kubota's smaller one. ( not fair) The Kubota MX lifting max in the rear is 2310
John Deere doesn't have the skid steer attachment like the Kubota so you'll need to buy John Deere attachments only
John Deere can you please do tests that are half fair? The kubota is a smaller tractor thats why theyre never in same shot. Test tractors that are at least comparable

how is comparing two similar horsepower tractors in the same class unfair? Because the Deere has larger wheels it's a larger tractor? That doest account for Kubotas weak points...that carry over every single frame size.

Actually, no. The MX and the 5E are each company's economy tractor offering in that horsepower class and the base price of the 5E is less than the MX.
I am just saying with the options they list 540 EPTO etc (not a base option) the more realistic comparison value wise is the 5660. Both can be configured very similarly feature for price.

Not sure what your saying. The 5045E comes standard with a 540 pto...as well as rear SCV's...included in a base price that is less expensive than the Kubota.
It's about and "efficiency" model. It doesn't matter if the Kubota doest have the same features. When it's being sold as an 'Efficiency' machine, it's about getting the most bang for your buck.
If the argument is that the 5045E is too big for your needs, I can see why the comparison should be different. Then, the model should be a 4M.

While this comparison is not apples to apples, there is no getting around that these are excellent machines. I have farmed with the 5100 M and 5100 MH for the last 7 years growing mixed vegetables in rocky New England soil and can attest that these tractors are true workhorses.

Ok kiddies stop arguing if you want a price spend like 30 mins looking big around or call a dealer it ain’t that hard and if you want a real tractor don’t get something this small new if u need a tractor this size get a older one for cheaper and it will probably outperform and outlast the new hunks of junk. I wouldn’t buy a small tractor from jd or kabota any time soon
Used compact utility tractors are just as if not more expensive than new compact utility tractors.

It's actually worse to run the engine RPM at a lower rate with the PTO than it is to run it fast puts more strain on the engine

We have a 2006 Kubota mx5000 and we have never had to adjust the brakes or clutch we have had to replace to clutch because someone buried it in a swamp and water got in it but we have never adjusted the brakes or clutch and flywheel hey work like new
They did get one thing right out of this unfair comparison. The 5E is a heavier tractor than the MX5200.
Couple of things left out. Price difference between the two w/same equipment. 5 year cost analysis. Not sure if I buy into the 90 vs 120 "service" items. How many of those can you do on your own or do you have to get someone of JD IT to show up to fix things? Not ragging JD or Kubota. Grew up Deere but the playing field has changed and Psst, John Deere, some of us LIKE metal skins. If it can "dent" it can be popped out. Plastic (no mater what you want to call it), cracks, can't handle laying something as simple as a bag of seed without crushing it. Even my riding lawn mower, a Husqvarna, has a metal hood and that's why I walked away from a cub and deere.
I bought a new m4d-071 in october 2019, my 1st kubota, I would not buy another kubota, steering is weak, the air is weak and the loader and remote hydraulics leak down, on the 2nd loader valve, with loader cylinders rebuilt, dealer hasn't started on the remotes yet but right now I'm not real hopeful that anything will be fixed, really disappointed in Kubota
Kubota is a good tractor they have fixed all the issues with there bigger tractors yet
okay I am not going to lie all tractor manufacturers really need to catch up with the power reverser this has been a option for over forty years and is known as the greater special catch up with the times people one of the worst parts about my M4800su is a fact that reverse is stupid slow send reverse is only a low range option

Kevin Riffey it’s takes no more time to change attachments than a skid steer quick attach. If you’re not running multiple machines with different attaching systems it’s not a big deal.
But the price tag comes with the John Deere

I bought a 5075e back in December. It is an absolute power house. I am not brand specific. There are aspects of all tractors that I like and that I don't like. I honestly thought I would never own a Deere because of price. But the guys at my local dealer are awesome. Service is great to. I don't use my tractor for farming. I use mine paired with a Wallenstein winch in a small logging operation. Neither one has let me down. Ever. I have pulled some big wood with my tractor and loaded it onto my log truck. I have used other tractors the same size and 10hp bigger that have failed at loading. If anyone has any questions on a 5075e and want an honest answer ask me.

They're comparing the gear transmissions on these. Put a hydrostatic on that Kubota and BOOM. Great loader tractor.

Powreverser transmission is great for more than just loader work that transmission is invaluable to us
Kubota lists the MX as their economy utility line and the E is John Deere’s economy utility tractor as well, making them direct competitors. In the video the JD has r1 tires and the Kubota has r4 which gives the illusion its a much smaller tractor because the front wheels of a R4 setup are much smaller than an r1 setup.
Kubota M series would be comparable to JD M series tractors.

My Grandma bought a John deer and he was a mechanic. After one week it blew up and it was brand-new. Then he sold it and bought a Honda, that was 12 years ago and still running.

It is very biased, they may have the same horsepower but the application of each tractor varies.

This video is killing me I'm literally rolling on the floor my Kubota m4800 when I get a full box of dirt in the box bladeit will lift the front tires off the ground trying to pull it and the front tires are still turning. I make piles of dirt that are taller than my tractor with only a box blade and no loader.

Yea i was wondering about that i've put together many 52 horse HST, but they are trying to make their product look the best it can, Kubota does the same thing, Almost every brand does that
One thing I don't like about the HST is how it struggles to pull a plow but on the other hand that ain't the engine is the transmission if you have a geared trans the wheels will spin before in bogs down

That operator acting like he's trying to turn the steering wheel while lifting the load with the loader is about the most stupid thing I've ever seen. I know for fact that's not true unless something is wrong with the Kubota's hydraulics. My son has an MX5100 and it's never ever exhibited any such behavior as that while lifting heavy loads. To be fair he also has a sweet JD 5065M. So there's color discrimination around here.

The John Deere is 2x the size of the kubota. They should have compared the l4701 with a hst transmission. It would have beat that John Deere.
I’ve had a 4701 and put over 800 hours on it the first year, it does not compare to John Deere and I’m comparing it to the four series not the five series, Kubota is a good tractor but John Deere is much more stout but this is my personal experience from running my tractors hard seven days a week, if you own a Kubota you should be proud of it but I do feel John Deere makes a stronger tractor, This may have not been a fair comparison to the MX serious Kubota but the MX series is a step above the L series which does put it in comparison to the smaller five series John Deere tractor
The 5e also in my opinion looks nicer, and has a better operating station
Ok first of all the kubota is way smaller then the Johnny you need a bigger kubota to compare it to 2 of all my dad has a kubota and a John Deere the John Deere had to get fixed more than our kubota 😂
