Jim Belushi is his own man, and that's what matters ....and as much as I would like to think John would have been excellent in Ghostbusters, it's extremely hard to imagine that movie without the incredible performance of Bill Murray...his performance was so iconic, that it's hard to imagine someone could surpass it, even still, if anyone in the world could have , it would have to be John.

Wish I could see jimmy again. I grew up one house away from the Belushi family
John Adam. James Adam. William Adam. I didnt know Marion very well. Agnes their mom worked at G n G pharmacy down the street. She was always such a nice person
Funniest memory was 3 year old Billy. Billy Belushi running down elm street naked with NaNa running after him...apron and babuska ...yelling something in Albanian. We sat on our porch and darn near peed our pants
It never surprised me that john and Jim grew to be such great funny men
Sadly. And strangely. John passed away on my birthday.

Must been hard being brothers. John Belushi is a comedy legend written in stone while his younger brother Jim is an underrated comic. Same thing happened to Lynyrd Skynyrd when Ronnie Van Zant, the heart and soul of the band, perished in a plane crash and his little brother took over as the lead singer.

Same can be said about Wolfgang Van Halen if by some fate Van Halen gets back together, now I know that Eddie is Wolfgang's father and that's father and son but Wolfgang could fill his dad's shoes if he wanted to and sure he would get the same treatment for not being is his father but he would be keeping the band going and he would keep his dad's legacy alive even more just like Jim Belushi and Johnny Van Zant have been doing for their brothers for years,oh boy as I've been typing let me put Joaquin Phoenix in that category as well.

I know Jim Belushi. We're not buddy's but my company has done work for him, I've talked to him about 4 different times in the last 20 yrs, and he's exactly the same as he is on film. It's been 10 yrs and he's a bit older and more mellow now, but he was pretty wild in his own right, I also worked in Hollywood in the late 90s in the printing business, much for movies going to VHS at the time, and I heard many Jim stories about wild boozy affairs.

John is far more to me than an addict. I would like people to know, John played football, and was severely tackled and had head injuries, and this may have resulted in the swelling in his brain found in autopsy may have been from CTE, and may have caused his compulsive behavior, and the problem with communication, which was made worse by drugs. John and Jim are both awesome, and John will be remembered by me for his talent, and that will never be overshadowed by his death.

I MET THE SOBelushi on AA flight from LAX CA to JFK NY on Thursday,
April 12, 1979; on this flight, I was "with" redhead from tv show "SOAP"
and actor-singer Tom Waits (GREAT GUY! Talked to him in back of plane,
last row, for 15 minutes) and John Belushi. Flight attendant got me an
autograph, then asked if I wanted to meet Belushi, who was in First
Class (I was in coach, which Waits was also); I was 18 years old at the
time, so she brought me up to First Class; I approached Belushi, whom
was sitting with a woman (NOT sure if it was his wife OR a
"GF"-mistress), she was stroking his hair as I left him, but the
encounter went like this: He asked me "What do you want?!", I replied,
"I JUST WANT TO SAY I ENJOY YOU ON 'SATURDAY NIGHT LIVE', and in "ANIMAL
HOUSE", and...." I paused, as I did not want to mention "GOING SOUTH"
as I heard he hated that movie, and could not think of what else to say,
then at this point, he grinded his teeth, through his clenched mouth,
said gruffly, "Get Out of Here!" and as I was walking away, and about a
seat away now, heading towards back of First Class (which he sat in the
middle of First Class, on the right side, on the aisle), I heard Belushi
say again, and this time, truly in an angry, maddening voice, "GET OUT
OF HERE!!" MY BEST FRIEND's BROTHER WAS FLYING WITH ME, AS HE WAS A
FLIGHT ATTENDANT WITH PAN AM, he was laughing when I got back to the
seat, I asked, "What?", he replied that he was there, behind me, which I
had not noticed, and thought it was funny! When Belushi died in 1982, I
was washing the car, and heard the obit on the radio, and I slightly
cheered, saying "Good for the son-of-a-bitch; my wrath is working". As
He was nasty to me, and I do not like when anyone, including celebs, to
be nasty to me; we buy their products, see their movies, are fans. I
have met over 400 celebrities in my life, including politicians from
both parties, and some celebs do remember me (I even attended the actual
academy award ceremony in March 1986 at inside the dorothy Chandler
pavillion; met spielberg, Pollack, Brooks, Bancroft, huston, Donald
oConnor, etc.), so I can tell you ones who are GREAT, lovely, fantastic,
and also nasty, bad, a**holes. Many of the ones who are nasty on
screen, nice in person, and vice versa. Faye dunaway and Christopher
Plummer were the 2 best I ever met, nicest. BUT actor-dancer-singer
Gene Kelly was an a**hole as he told me "What are you out of your
f**king mind?!" at St Patricks Day parade in Beverly Hills CA when I
asked for an autograph... even though it was only teaming -raining- some
BUT other actors were great and nice like James Stewart and Ernest
Borgnine and Faye Wray -these 3 were truly polite- as these 3 stood out
in the drizzling rain and even Borgnine shook hands with military men
as rain did not bother him but bothered ahole GENE KELLY!, and Jon
Voight (voight and I have met 4 times: 1982 NY 1st time, 1983 NY 2nd
time, March 1986 CA at Oscars for 3rd time, 4th time at NY LI's
Huntington Townhouse during Jewish dinner in November 1999 when
accepting an award) and trump in NYC...these ones are total A**HOLES!
Do not be fooled by their BS attitude (I had a business meeting with
trump; Trump conned me out of $24000, my pension money, and trump told
racist and chauvinist jokes, and admitted he hates women in charge and
hates minorities, and trump admitted he hates his base but makes
believes he LOVES them so he can get recognition and get their votes, as
he said they are a**holes; he said they are stupid enough to believe
him as he is white and famous and "rich"; Ivanka, IvankaSS as I call
her, after our meeting, she had a white male to attack me if I touched
her shoulder for the photo op! Can see him in the photo, hiding behind
curtain, ready to pounce on me if I touch her! YET there is a picture of
her with another girl in the white house, and hand is on her shoulder!
HYPOCRITES! BOTH FAKES and LIARS) . These last ones are nasty and
fked-in-the-head. Anyway, to end, I will admit John Belushi WAS
talented. I liked his work, and have movies of his (ANIMAL HOUSE, BLUES
BROTHERS, 1941) on dvd and bluray and laserdisc. BUT just wanted to tell you
my TRUE story about Belushi, which is NOT fake news. I have a FORREST
GUMP-style life.. OH! By the way, I LOST MY VIRGINITY THIS EXACT DAY,
less than 12 hours before the LAX-JFK flight (which was partly the
reason why I went to California for a month! Lost my virginity at 3:40
AM PST california time 4/12/79, to a Jeanne Hankerson, who used to
reside on Longfellow Road in Hermosa/Redondo Beach area, off Sepulveda
Blvd., but thats another story for another day and time! IF anyone
knows this woman, please let me know, as I would like to see her once
again now). One thing with me, is, I have a good memory, and great with
dates and times, AND I TELL THE TRUTH. Anyway, Everybody, have a HAPPY

But Jim said he never really knew his brother... weird. Jim was funny in his own way. Jim was bigger than his brother. How insulting to say your dead brother is the only reason you made it. SMH.

No, I’m tired of all drug users who have been famous. This man is nothing. Be famous without drugs is something to be proud over, that’s it. Only weak personality use drugs. No soul only fake. A drug user can never be funny, only pathetic. And to his brother I want to say, you cannot save other persons with drugs. Stupid attitudes.
