There’s something about her style that I love. It’s joyful without being too juvenile. Im currently refreshing my home and I’m going to incorporate some of the things she does. In particular, fun colors. I wish I could find better art, though. There’s not many places to source good cheap art around where I live.
Yes, you start with a baby room, the crib sheets etc, many people buy a crib that converts to a toddler bed, so the sheets can still be used. Then by the time they're 4-5, it's time for a real bed, and then you're getting bed linens etc. Until age approx 12, they want something more of what they want, and then high school age another change. Kids are expensive.
It's always so relaxing and comforting to watch your videos! It's like having a friend over for tea and chatting over interior design magazines together. ❤
I love the inspiration and tips you give Paige! This was really fun to revisit her house and do the comparison. I continue to learn so much and enjoy your content and you :)
I liked the old kitchen a lot. It reminds me of kitchens in a lot of Northern European homes.Very simple and homey. I would have made very few changes there.
Hi! I’m a parasocial friend. Also, I do better running my meetings at work after I’ve been binging your content!!! I adore you 💕 Edit: It’s hard to put into words, watching you makes me feel more like myself? I love your personality!
I love Matilda Goad but I also love Beata Heumann, which I think you would really like as well, especially with regards to her style and products, which are so-so unique and specific. Do a video on Beata maybe?? 😍
Paige: ask Caroline Winkler how she feels about couches at the end of beds 😆 The only room I like is the kids' room. Everything else seems very unsophisticated, like every room is the kids' room.

I really like hearing your commentary on the changes and what and why you think certain things work or don’t work. Matilda probably isn’t worried about the cost of changing the kids bathroom and bedrooms. It’s easier to make bold choices if you aren’t worried about the expense to change things out in a few years. Most of us aren't in that situation. So I'm of the same opinion as you are regarding a child's room and making it easier to transition a room as children mature.
Love her use of color. Is there a bit of Tuscan Italian running through her style (leafy sconce, textured walls, harlequin...)? 🤷🏻♀️ My favorite room is the child’s room. 😘
Thanks for update on MG. Watched TV show Happy to be Home, with the Gray Benko designer in SC. Check it out. I’m normally not a “pink” person but her choice of colors is out of this world. It’s total madness , but she managed to make such unique and “happy “ feeling homes.
The play room area is the top of the stairs I think she says! Which is great because usually it’s a waste of space (just like a laundry basket)! We don’t often have basements/cellars in the UK or if you do, they’re flood risks so people tend to use them as a storage space rather than a functional space
Hi Paige! Long time viewer and para social friend living here in Scotland! 👋 thanks for the video! Loved basmas room makeover btw, that blue color has me inspired!!
it would be so nice to see your take on kids rooms! i'm having a baby, but i don't want to lose my sense of style and cross over to the beige baby universe, help
I'm having a baby too in a few months. My nursery has no theme. It is all practical lol. I figured that kids grow so fast and their rooms will change fast too (crib to toddler bed to big-kid bed) and so why bother get all this decor and furniture that may only be in there for a few months. Maybe a crib mobile or some art but other than that, I am not doing decor. I'll do more with kids stuff and decor when my baby is older and has developed interests. But when they're so young, it's just not necessary. Things will get broken or ruined.
Just make the baby's room comfortable for both of you as you're going to be spending a lot of time in there and at all hours. Good luck and CONGRATULATIONS 🎉 xx
I love her interior style, even though it´s far more colorful and English than I would ever go. I just would like to spend time in her home, soak in the details and use it as inspiration in my own home. You should review Lucy Williams´ home. I found that one really nice too.
Limewash in a victorian terrace like Matilda's makes a lot of sense since it will let the walls breathe. I do wonder if there's a better way to inject some color without leaving the limewash look that people seem to be put off by. By far the best treatment for all the walls though, not just the kitchen
@@Dev_KG Absolutely! I wonder if there's special painting that's saturated enough and still works like limewash? I'm sure there must be something out there, but who knows how performance will be for such products
The playroom she shows is upstairs. She said they removed a redundant bedroom and small bathroom to make the playroom. I spent a lot of time bouncing between the original video and hew one because I'm so nosy! 😂
I'd love to see you talk about Beata Heumann's home! I don't know if it has changed so much over the years, if it haven't, you can compare her London home to her Swedish country house! ^_^
It seems like people redo their decor every 5 years, so the kid room decor will most likely change. I also saw how everyone said granite countertops would last 'forever' but they didn't stay in style forever?
Always wait for Sunday to watch you! Yes, I have to settle on being only a parasocial friend but would have loved to be an actual real friend even though I am old enough to be your Mom.
As a parasocial friend who recently purchased a home and is decorating/ painting etc., I frequently say “it’s giving Paige wassel” to my partner 😂 he is very familiar with the Paige wassel vibes now
I find it interesting that you're doing this lady's home. She was one of the first ones.I found that drew me in to color and unique design. That I had to save to my youtube list that i've watched repetitively over and over intrigued. I still don't have a clue who she is. Do you think but the large yellow sofa? The green doors and the large primary color furniture.I think she did very well.
I'd love to know what you think of Darren Jett's designs - I'm really not sure if you'd love or hate them, but he definitely has his own taste which I reckon you'd appreciate
I dunno, Paige - I enjoyed MG's colourplay a little more from 2 yrs ago. Example: removing console from LR ok agreed if not functional, but I'm missing the blue/teal colour + abstract art that filled that space more visually, especially facing the grand bookcase. Big simple desk painted in blue/teal could be an option. Seems her styling is more relaxed/simpler/softer now.
I feel like people are stressing too much about making kids room translate to teenage rooms. It’s a 13 year difference… many adults change their own bedrooms every 2-3 years (not entirely of course, but still). So I like the approach of changing a child’s room every 4 years or so, not making a baby stay in a full king size bed 😅 (I have seen that)
Is it just me or is the volume of all the videos super low? I watch on my tv, and I always have to pump up the volume. Then I get blasted on whatever comes on next
Paige - please fix your audio mixing issues. I have the same experience and while I love your content, it’s been months of this where the audio has been mixed too low compared to the ads when watching on a tv.
Very interesting video and I like Matilda Goad’s style, she keeps it fun, joyful and colourful without ending up puerile. However, she has done something which is a pet peeve of mine, namely putting a couch in front of her bed. Who started this ludicrous trend? And what is the point? Would you ever put a bed in front of your couch?
I liked the wood island better than the marble one, but a butcher block would be so much more functional. My butt hurts just watching her sit on the swing seat. Also took 21 minutes for me to realize I was thinking of Matilda Djerf and expecting it to be more basic.
Kids get sick of their rooms for sure. That's why wallpaper in kids' rooms is not ideal. I would definitely want my kitchen island to be taller and the stools to be under a counter.
Paige, 2 years ago without bangs you looked FABULOUS. Please consider growing them out. Your hairline is beautiful. By the way I have had bangs forever, but I’m not as pretty as you.

I like the island seats, as a former fort builder, it prevents stools from being added to a mess in another room 😂
My room was the same age 4-20. It was a pale yellow with white trim. Loved it then, loved it now!
I liked the old kitchen a lot. It reminds me of kitchens in a lot of Northern European homes.Very simple and homey. I would have made very few changes there.
Agreed, the old kitchen was lovely and genuine to the house. The new kitchen looks too oversized for the space it is in.

Matilda Goad to me is the epitome of interior style that is so fun but elegant/timeless too
I loved this. Really helps connect with the design process seeing little changes and hearing your analysis. ✌❤💃
