    My niece created this documentary. She is a beautiful, brilliant, compassionate person. The world is a better place with her in it!

    We have truly made progress in making society more equalized for the disabled community, I'm glad some of us (advocates) were human enough to not turn a blind eye to our brothers and sisters in need.

      lmao now in 2022 and very little has been changed in fact changing the system to be more oppressed. Very little is done to help the disabled

    Good job to all that contributed. As a disability studies major I have seen a lot of these kinds of documentaries. This RUclips video does a fine job of seamlessly weaving together a lot of important information in a way that is easily understood.

    It's sad that people with special needs were locked away in institutions just because they were different from others. I'm glad they don't have those horrible places anymore!

    We have come a long way, but we still have a long way to go. Lifting the cap on SSI. Getting ready of the marriage penalty for people on SSI. Nothing about us without us! SSI payment and cap hasn’t been raised in 40 years. It’s time for it to be raised.

    Its a good little documentary but the focus is more on wheelchair users especially when it comes to activism when fact it took all kind of people with all kinds of disabilies to archive the things we have so far

    • @isaiahtaylor4347
      @isaiahtaylor4347 4 года назад +1

      I hear u on that but that’s the exact opposite of how I feel. Permanent wheelchair users are extremely misrepresented by the ADA. The rules they have for “disabled” GREATLY excludes rights for permanent wheelchair users

    Society does not accept disability or differences. As a disabled person, I have been through so much hardship and it is unfair to put it out there that everything is good for us disabled people, when in reality we are the people suffering the hardest. There are disabled people in every group. I think if we focus on helping black disabled people (I have a few ideas), we can change the world in a radical way.

    What did the law passed by congress do? Was there anything that changed for accessibility beyond curbs/kerbs for people with wheelchairs?

      Ellen Sweeney Dear Ellen let's not fight, after all only those who care about us would even be here. Our job is to push further, to keep our civil rights issues Paramount, and not let them institutionalise us.
