@@jim9983 First gear in diesels, since they only rev around 3-4k shift only bring the spedo up to about 15mphs if that. if it was a gas engine it could rev 2x up to 6k and be at 30mph making it effictive for launching. So diesel guys usally use the tow button as a way to put it into race mode. 2nd gear launch up to 35mph (instead of 1st gear 15 or less) 4x4 cause diesels can make much torque it would blow the tires off in 2wd even in 2nd gear (kinda another reason why they launch in 2nd i imagine buddy has it tuned just right) button also changes the tune so they can daily drive it and not just go through fuel and make it reliable.

Im not sure I would have to find the build sheet and look. Its kinda weird the trans only does that in 4x4.
