Songs used... but first: Originally gonna be an April Fools, but I had a technology malfunction scare and almost lost this entire video, so I just decided to upload it early to be safe. Besides, the line between serious and funny is blurred enough on this channel. Making this an April Fools Day thing is almost more confusing, bizarrely enough. I also had to trim this video for copyright reasons, if some cuts seem weird, that's why. Anyways... >Money Machine, I Got My Tooth Removed, and 800db Cloud by 100 Gecs. >Rapture Ball by Poppy. >Billy Knows Jamie by 100 Gecs. >Coconuts by Kim Petras. >Crash by Charli XCX. >Mememe by 100 Gecs. >Uhoh by Kim Petras. >Von Dutch by Charli XCX. >Shinigami Eyes by Grimes. >X, and Girls in Bikinis by Poppy. >Feminine Energy by Cobrah >Fat bottomed Girls by Queen. >Baby Got Back by Sir Mix-a-Lot. >Knockoff by Poppy. >Personal Hell by Kim Petras. >Play Destroy by Poppy (Ft Grimes) >Obsessed by Sophie Powers. >Hollywood Baby by 100 Gecs. >Left on Read by Negative XP. >(O)rdinary by Avenged Sevenfold.
Really dug this one man! I think you do such a good job of going into depths of genres. I'm a metal head but music lover overall. Would love to hear you break down anything honestly. The weirder the better! Maybe you can tell us why the tuba is so popular in polka music? That's pretty metal ha
As if modern pop wasn't already bad enough 😭 If it's accelerationism then I guess I get it lol Great video tho, I really appreciate your analysis on this difficult trend and I'm interested to see where it goes from here
Lmaooo, i remember my introduction to hyperpop was in the back of my friends car when he put on hollywood baby by 100 gecs after i had gone border line non-verbal after ripping the fuck out of the pen earlier. Cool genre, its like, tooootally gayyyyy but also, like, suuuuper slick and sharp with the commentary.
I'm glad you decided to make a video branching out into a weird genre, even if its mostly for a joke. You seem to have done your research bustin out some deep cuts from poppy and whatnot (I love poppy)
Dont take this as hate, but imagine making a video about hyperpop and not mentioning its original artists (SOPHIE, ag cook) or PC MUSIC (founded by ag)
hear me out, hyper hardcore. its like pop punk but its hyperpop and hardcore punk, think red flag and poppy. if your that type of person, discharge and 100-gecs
she made one album that was more hyperpop-ish "how I'm feeling now" and also appeared on some remixes for hyper-pop songs which kinda made her the popular champion of the genre for a second, but yeah she doesn't really make hyper pop.
lmao not to be that person but your video is missing 80% of the hyper pop artists and just did not cover the genre in general this is an April fools post but just wanted to say that. Also I don't really think a lot of hyperpop songs are meant to be extremely feminine some just do tend to be and it is filled with like all the trans ppl out there. You didn't mention sugar rush which was everywhere for a while. Hyperpop is a very broad genre and is a bit hard to define just anything that pushes the limits of pop I guess but then ppl can't decide on what that even means. Since the term was coined by literal Spotify and a lot of the ppl who carried the genre back in 2020 don't really resonate with label and have all moved on like Quinn and d0llywood. It's a bit all over the place and there's just something that was a placeholder for many artists who were experimenting and famous ish ppl who were given it. A lot of hyperpop and Incelcore sound very similar and its just full of shitty weird queer kids on discord that made songs on Bandcamp who wanna be like 100 gecs or Dorian Electrica. the majority of old hyper pop artists are in their 20s now and made the music during covid when they were teens so it's full of gen zs (some r prob still teens). The hyperpop you talk about in the video are just the famous people who wanted do do pop music that is pushing the norms but when someone says hyperpop I don't think about them. But ofc with the band 100 gets which inspired so many of the kids which are the most popular hyperpop artists. Charlie xcx and Sophie were the first people to actually show a mark and change pop while being mainstream so you can't go wrong with them
oh yeah wanted to add that get is considered hyperpop by a lot of people and I do see where they're coming from but you really can't say yes or no because what does that even mean

This was some sort of Proto-April Fools Day
Lol best comment
Love the valley accent 😂
(Poppy and Grimes got some good music too)
Hyperpop is basically just Mr. Bungle with Garageband plugins.
Which I fuck with tbh
well you should do the outro using the vocals style of each genre you're talking about from now on xD

i totally like gave this like video a total like, like omg its sooooo cool.
As a Metalhead that kind of likes some forms of pop i kinda like this stuff. Thanks for introducing me to this subgenre
As if modern pop wasn't already bad enough 😭

There is an incelcore to hyperpop pipeline it’s a real and documented thing
Going from one fandom-addict music microgenre to another. Not surprised.
Bet you could make a loop with incelcore > hyperpop > breakcore > repeat
It also has some overlap with “scene core”
pipeline of loser to loser is crazy

That accent! 😂

Probably your funniest video so far.
Hearing some of my favourite songs in this video made me very happy :)
So glad I subscribed to this channel!
I was really confused for a moment. Got me to check my calendar.

Banger valley girl accent.
I like that you lost the voice towards the end.
ur a genius
Thoughts on Sematary/haunted mound, specifically his rainbow bridge 3 album
I really love Poppy

Can you actually do a serious video about What is Pop?
Good video
So metal heavier than black metal and death metal 🤘
Do crunkcore next.
Дегенеративное искусство
Cloud rap > hyperpop
(Btw that accent had me dead 😂)
I hate hyper pop! I hate hyper pop!
*sitting in a corner with a shotgun*
hear me out, hyper hardcore. its like pop punk but its hyperpop and hardcore punk, think red flag and poppy. if your that type of person, discharge and 100-gecs

I wouldn't say Charli XCX was hyperpop but what do I know... I know that I fucking hate 1000 gecs and hyperpop in general.

What about power metal?
W Avenged Sevenfold
Black dresses can be described as “hyperpop”?
