In one of Tim's interviews he explains that he was a late bloomer and was a tenor well into his teens. After his voice changed he worked to keep the tenor as well instead of abandoning as most male singers do.
@@lonewolfx499 While he sings in 6 octaves, his A5 high note is actually just below 6 octaves above his C0 low note. Thus he covers 5 octaves, plus about 3/4 of a 6th. So, while close, his range is actually 5 octaves.
Tim is something else, isn‘t he? Yes, we all will love him today, tomorrow on so forth. Tim is an incredibly versatile artist. You are right in that this album, Pieces of me Vol. 1, is totally acappella and all Tim. But he has another solo country album that is with instruments. Most of his recent solo work lives on his patreon, which I cannot recommend enough. There are so many different songs that show not only his vocal but also his artistic range.
Tim is just a phenomenon !!! For me....DOO WOP MUSIC FOREVER !!! I just love this genre ! I can't wait for you to hear him do Blue Moon....Mortius I know you've heard a lot of great music, but that drop your jaw !!! Also yesterday Home Free just dropped a harmony bonanza yet again...they did a cover of the Lonestar song "Amazed"....you'll love the song & the video too is stellar ! You're going to have a lot to say about the arrangement
I was a 70's DJ on radio with vinyl. Everybody did fadeouts to make segueing easy. That way a final line wouldn't get chopped in the change over to a new song. With digital formats, that was no longer necessary so it faded out. Especially after it became easy to make a continuous playlist from different sources.
The look on your face when he hit that first high note was priceless. I so enjoyed your reaction to this. And thanks so much for paying the pet tax. ♡♡♡
I know in interviews that Tim has said that even though his voice dropped from tenor to bass, he has worked hard to make sure that he kept his entire range sounding good, and it certainly shows!
Thanks for this reaction--I love watching people love Tim's incredible talents! Also, I love that you are a neck-tie enthusiast (didn't know such a thing existed), sometimes the world is just effortlessly charming. :D
Hi Mortius, that's the best reaction I've seen in a long time 😂😁 All the singing, beatboxing in different songs and clapping and finger snapping on this album is done by Tim, it's fantastic. No matter what Tim sings and no matter if super low or very high - it's always perfect, the tones clear and clean. What a voice, what a talent! WOW !!! Whenever I think nothing can surprise me anymore, the next killer comes, LOL :-) This is the reason why Tim is my absolute favorite.
I love people reacting when Chris throws that switch and Tim goes high and you're shock was priceless. I'm old enough to have heard these songs on the radio when stations weren't in any corporation niche but locally owned and operated and DJs would play any song they wished, switching from rock to country to doo wop to soul and back again. Tim, Austin, and Home Free as a whole are bring me back to so many songs I heard as a child, it's so funny to see others reacting to what is is pretty well know to me. It was great to see your reaction to this. I like your YT channel and thanks for your work. And I'm a little late, but have a happy new year.
Tim’s range is sick. Just showing off his 5 octave range for you. That’s all him. Loved it. It’s so good. Such a fantastic rendition. Loved your reaction Mortius and your doggie!
Did you figure out the “Southern-ism” of “say that you’re…G’WAN to”? It means “GOING to” but is slurred together. I hear it sometimes because I live in Georgia. Loved your reaction. I knew that first high note would get you. As Tim says, this was in the style of The Four Seasons. The songs were originally recorded by The Shirelles and the Zodiacs.
What I love about Tim's voice is that he has this incredible range, but he's also a great singer, who uses it in service of the song, rather than ticking off octaves. He sang for a while with a group that specialised in acapella Doo-Wop, called the Alley Cats, and a lot of the time with these songs it's less a formal arrangement, and more a - I know how these songs go, I'll just start recording. If you want to see some examples of just how flexible his voice is, look for live versions of Your Man and Lil' Red Riding Hood.
The official video of Your Man is recorded live, but what you want is a *concert* version. There's extra stuff in the concert version. Russell Wolff Productions has a decent version as I recall. (They also have a version of Lil Red Riding Hood from the Patreon party.)
I loved watching your facial expressions while you were reacting to Tim’s range. Also I could tell you were enjoying the music. Love your channel and I love Tim and HF. Thank you so much. !!!🎼🎶💕🦋🎵
Tim's voice seems to scatter everyone's brains once he starts singing 🤣🤣🤣. I was blown away when I first heard "Man of Constant Sorrow". After that I have been looking/binging on anything that involves Tim, hahaha! I showed the non-reaction version of this video to my wife and she couldn't believe how he can start at the basement, go to the ground floor, and then up the attic and back.
Thank you for explaining so much of the intricacies and nuances of the song and how Tim is singing it! It gives an entirely new level of appreciation for a great piece by Tim Foust.
Another great rendition by Tim. His voice really suits this genre of music. We know he can really bring the bass but how about his falsetto? I have always loved these 2 songs from 1960 "Will You Still Love Me Tomorrow" by The Shirelles & "Stay" by Maurice Williams & The Zodiacs.
I'm so happy you reacted to this one. I loved your reaction and as always I learned a great deal. I've also heard many singers with large ranges but I often don't like the sound of a bass singing tenor or a tenor's baritone etc. They just sound off to my ear. With Tim, I just love his entire range. His tone is so pure and bright throughout. I know most people go nuts over how low and/or how high he can go but for me, it's all about the sound of his range.
It's absolutely mind-boggling that what your hear is all one single person singing. A natural bass as deep as Tim is should not be able to sing "that" high with such ease. His voice is really something else
Thank you for your reaction!! I always jump at the chance to hear them when they pop up. And yes we love you even if you are have an OCD day. I love this cover by Tim, he did a fantastic job. Please keep the Home Free reactions coming. I have been a fan of your reactions since your first.
Tim's voice really is pure magic ❤, and thank you so very much for your unfiltered 🤯 and insightful reactions - I'm a subscriber since the first of your reactions I saw! 😊 I know that you react to many artists, but there are still so many unseen Home Free-videos that you'd love!
You need to check out his first released song Come Go With Me. I truly enjoy watching your reaction to this song. You need to check out the new one out from Home Free that came out yesterday.
Wow, one of the best reactions i have seen yet! Tim Faust amazes me. For an obviously professional musician to be amazed by him just made me very happy. Thanks.
Wow, how did I miss this one....This was my first time seeing this one...OMG...he is getting better in his high range to....it sounded more comfortable to him since the days Maday. Thank you for another wonderful reaction.
ELLA! this is great! bread and i can't wait for you to see the rest of what he has to offer in his new solo acapella album when he releases 'em in video form
Tim has another single out of do-wop music called Come Go With Me. Love hearing your comments and watching your face and I know my reaction was pretty much the same!
Mortius, love your reactions!! Love your explanations to us non-musicians!! And I absolutely love Tim Foust and his totally amazing range, he is a wonderful singer!!
Thank you so much for reacting to this terrific couple of songs. Tim is amazing,. I enjoy your take on the music. Others have brought up...Come Go With Me... the first song we heard on this album. You will really enjoy it. Thanks a lot.
Just a FYI, if you contact Tim or anyone of the group and ask for an interview they will probably do it and you can post it on your channel. Austin and Tim have done interviews for their Reactors several times and they are very down to earth people. I would suggest you ask! As a Home fry and a subscriber of yours I know you would love it and so would we!
You are so freaking adorable! 🙃 I believe you missed that last note he did at the end of the (aggravating) fade out. Lol 😆 I'll suggest his 1st release "come go with me". It's ALMOST as impressive as this one, but a Lil funny part. 🥰
Speaking of "this much range" I have two new ones for you that came out the beginning of this month. Tim's bandmate Austin Brown got together with his friend Sebastien Douyen for a rendition of Bring Him Home from Les Miz that is mesmerizing. Three days later VoicePlay wowed us all with The Dragonborn Comes Skyrim. You don't have to be a gamer to totally fall in love with this piece from the first lowlowlow note from Geoff..
Tim is the master of vocals. Once you get the chance, watch the compilation of his vocal range, then be ready to be speechless, it's extraordinary. It's funny to watch singers realise he outstrips them above AND below their range😄 3:30 I don't know about love yet, but I'm becoming very fond of your personality, don't worry.
Loved your reaction! The 3rd video released from Pieces of Me is "In My Room" by the Beach Boys. My personal favorite from Vol 1. You will love it...guaranteed ❤️
Just something to make you smile. I was dancing then singing,c'mon c'mon and stay. My poor collie was resting peacefully, then I started to sing two opposite commands to him. He looked at me confused and stared at me like I had lost my mind.
Thank you so much, I was really looking forward to your reaction to this terrific video of Tim's. Usually it annoys me when a reactor stops frequently during a video. You however, get a pass because of your passion and the wealth of musical knowledge you provide. Stay well.

In one of Tim's interviews he explains that he was a late bloomer and was a tenor well into his teens. After his voice changed he worked to keep the tenor as well instead of abandoning as most male singers do.
That talent of Tim just blows my mind I think he found his 6th octave on this one.
Don't forget Tim has a 5-octave range and in his solo tunes, he spends hours layering himself. He is amazing
6 octave
@@spearhead30 He said that he´s working on nr. 6
He has hit the 0 octave before, so technically, he's 6 octaves.

@michaelsoper3610 Gotcha. I'm not too knowledgeable about vocal music, specifically.

i think what tripped him up was that it almost sounded like a Glottal stop at the same time of saying a compressed word.
Thanks for the explanation. From western PA and just know words like 'Yinz.' lol
Also see “fixin’ to”.
Georgia girl to Georgia girl, I caught that, too, lol! 😁
Is it weird that as a born-and-raised Northern Californian, I still immediately understood that “Southern-ism” on my first listen? Lmao.
This is a mind blowing cover, loved your reaction! Thank you for breaking things down and for being so genuine, your animation is a joy to watch.
Nice work, Mortius. You managed to larger-than-life emote and simultaneously deliver astute technical analysis, all in the same entertaining frame.
ABSOLUTELY AMAZING! INCREDIBLY TALENTED! TIM FOUST IS "THE MAN!" I LOVE HIM SO MUCH!

And with the flip of a switch Mortius comes closer to dropping a serious contribution in the swear-jar than ever before. LoL!!!

I just love your reaction, I had to rewatch
I'm with you, No Fade Out's! Needs to have a beginning, middle, and an END. Please!!!
Aw, you are sooo right!! Today, tomorrow, anything....:)))
Super nice reaction and fun! Love your sense of humor.
